As impressive as this deck that used Exchange of the Spirit along with Junk Collector, Magical Merchant, Punishment Dragon, World Legacy Scars, Fairy Tail Snow, and a few other cards was, can anyone imagine what kind of chaos would unfold if Exchange of the Spirit was played in a duel while the opponent's deck was also full of cards with effects that activated while in the graveyard, or if sent to the graveyard, like, say, not only Wulf, Lightsworn Beast, but also a bunch of Burning Abyss monster cards, or Phantom Knights? As for these kinds of FTK deck builds that use Exchange of the Spirit, how screwed over would they have been if at least one of those cards that the opponent would've had to send to the graveyard due to Exchange of the Spirit just so happened to have been a card with a graveyard effect that would've caused the player to return the card itself, or another card in the graveyard, to the deck, such as, oh, Outstanding Dog Marron?
Super late reply, but in case someone sees this, exchange of the spirit swaps cards to the gy. It doesn't send. According to previous rulings, since it swaps and doesn't send nothing that triggers on being sent to the gy will trigger.
@@prestonroe268 Nice to know, but still, some unforeseen consequences from any of the opponent's cards that could be activated at any time while they're in the graveyard (such as Fairy Tail Snow) should at least be considered if playing Exchange of the Spirit.
They didn't have any cards in their graveyard by the time EotS resolved (since Punishment had already resolved), but they did at the time it was activated, which means that EotS still goes through. It's not immediately obvious from the card text that that's the case, I had to check the rulings on that one
This type of decks kills the duel experience, literally. I mean, you are tired of play against the meta or you are like "Duel? Nah, I just play cards".
@@thiagoventuradesousa7275 I'd also like to nominate a little sleeper card called Outstanding Dog Marron as a counter, especially if played in a deck full of cards with effects that activate in the graveyard, such as Burning Abyss.
@@asdfasgdfgsd107 it still needs that condition to be met but he chains punishment dragon to it after the effect has been triggered so the opponent has nothing to go back into their deck
It's so funny that the deck just straight up disappear XD

Zenmaister. Flippin Zenmaister. A card that was only played when you didn't have better rank 4s. unreal.
How the condition of exchange of the spirit can still be met although the oppenent don't have any card in graveyard
I don't know. However Exchange of the Spirit used to only require your graveyard to have 15 cards minimum, not your opponent's.

"Used to". Read the text of the first editions.

What does the level 5 that triggers at end phase do?
Banish one trap from your graveyard, apply its affect if the timing conditions are correct.
