I've had my JEL since October. It is a wonderful amp. Though I bought it for the 800 channel, I have fallen in love with the plexi channel AND the 800 channel with low gain...just a bit spicier than the plexi. Now I have GAS for guitars again. Great video, thank you for doing this.
Great video. I like the power amp saturation more - so I run my JEL20 Plexi Channel Volume at about 8 where it starts to overload nicely and have the Gain around 6… this way the bright cap is still doing it’s kerrang thing nicely. I also have a Marshall 1959 SLP and use it with the OX Box or the Fryette Powerstation. Having still that extra 5% mojo more than the JEL20 I have to say that Dave did an incredible job making an EL84 amp this big sounding
