U Là trời! Cảm ơn. This is very helpful Van! I live in the SF Bay Area. I'm learning thanks to you. I am going to start saying this when I go to Vietnam. I have been to Saigon and Phan Thiet in November 2023 and March 2024. And then I am going back there in July 2024. I have watched 90% of your videos Van including you cameos like Phuc Map. Everything from getting a SIM card, to walk across the street, and learning Vietnamese slang is on point. Thanks again! Keep posting!
A lot of these slangs originated and are widely used in the South. But not so much in the North. You will be considered cringy if you use them too much in the North.
4:50 I agree. 😅 I used to give 100% to my wife the first 10 years, but for the last 5 years (since 2018) I « only » give 75% and use the rest in SAVINGS and some extras for the house (kids’ milk, snacks, candies, trendy toys on Lazada) and for my personal needs: whey, créatine, vitamins. 😁👍
5:08 I don’t play/gamble, I don’t drink alcohol (even go to the café), I don’t go to karaoke, « quan nhau » or « bia h*m », and no mistresses. 😅 All my money is for my family (wife and 3 kids) and I. 🤗♥️🇻🇳
Because of your videos..me and my wife have thought about moving to Vietnam 😁😎 we love everything you do! We are visiting in November for 5 weeks. CANT WAIT 😎🪴🍲🀄️☕️
Thanks for that Vân, I’m fluent in 4 languages and a little bit of French. Life is an infinite learning ordeal just like a word in many different phrases and different ways
Been in Hanoi for 2 weeks, be careful using Mlem Mlem to describe tasty food! All my Vietnamese friends tell me It's more of a Gen Z term to describe someone they find attractive. Describing someone as looking like snack.

my usual viet resto sometimes serves crab chips which funny taste. I would like to say those chips sometimes taste like my great grandma wardrobe. Any suggestions?
cơm chó in Chinese originally means that we call the single person as "Single Dog" 单身狗, so when the couple cuddle in public or in front of the single person and made them feel happy, we call it 撒狗粮, or spilling the dog food, if the crowd feel sad because they dont have a partner, we also call it 虐狗 or abuse the dog🤣
We are going to Saigon (Hoi Chi Minh City) in November 2024 can you reccommend a good Private Car Food Tour we might use to gat a feel of want to order and try?? We love your informative channel keep up the good work.
As a fan who had followed your channel since the first video I have to say this Van. I don’t know you been bussy recently or not. But i want to see more your video about travel and try new local food in different provinces as videos you made before and I think others people think the same. Believe me your videos will get more viewer. I think the reason that you video get less views because you haven’t made videos like that more often. Sometime you just disappear bruzz... I hope you will forcus spend more time and money as well for your channel. Good luck
I thought tra xanh referred to the third person in the relationship. For example, if a married man has an affair, then the person he has an affair with is called tra xanh.
Hi, "Van Vu"..., I enjoy learning the Vietnamese language and it is a beautiful language to learn... * Excellent video and very informative, and "Thank you" for sharing the video ! ! * "Van Vu" is bright, intelligent, and attractive... Excellent video... Mike in Montana P.S.: "Yes..., I would like to learn and know more about relationships and love and the family culture in Vietnam." Thank you... Mike in Montana :)
yeah that was the first thing I noticed. It's fun to see languages mix and mingle while the spelling is adjusted to local customs. My favorite thing is transcriptions of names in Polish. They may not know Shakespeare, but have probably heard of Szekspir…
The Vietnamese slang term "bánh bèo" is often used to describe girls who are considered to be feminine, delicate, and high-maintenance. It is derived from the name of a popular Central Vietnamese dish called "bánh bèo," which is known for its soft and delicate texture.
I don’t care what Americans has to say about me because I don’t consider myself an American and when people open their mouths you can’t tell them to shut. I am poor and I don’t care what they say because I am old, more mature and I have maybe 40 more years left to live so I can’t focus what chickens are saying about me because I need to live my life.
How to deal with Americans fishing me? Stop commenting on the internet. When I say something they have something to say back but if I stop saying anything then they are talking by themselves.
Fun fact, Gato comes from the french word Gateau (but pronounced exactly the same as in vietnamese) which means Cake.

You have that look of welcome, and honesty. “Ban that dep”

cùi bắp 🌽 is one of my faves but I'm Gen X so it's probably outdated by now 😅
When I heard "Chém Gió" I thought it's Break Wind... but it means BS. Okay, I won't mistaken that the next time I hear a Vietnamese person say it.
Tôi vẫn nhớ câu nói ..... bạn ấy giầu tình cảm !!! Nên tò mò theo dõi !!!
China has beautiful cars. Vietnam has beautiful women. I think it is possible to have both... 😎😎😎
China has cars that are copied from other brands but all women in the world are unique. 😊
@@koriko88 they are not copied. They are designed by famous designers who are foreigners that now work for Chinese companies. Then they mass produce.
