This is honestly one of the scariest fan works along with Demon's by Carson! You have brilliantly captured the tone of spooky season 2! The synth music, lighting, and mist effects really do simulate Ghost Train's atmosphere. After seeing this, I am now convinced that Haunted Henry or Duncan Gets Spooked would have been terrifying if done in Season 2, and you captured that using only Trainz! Bravo!
I recon the third ghost engine was one who was stuck by the debris flying after jack and jill's boilers exploded, hence why they're face was "Crushed in".
That was actually insanely scary, all accomplished without a jumpscare! And Percy’s throat running dry is so bloody relatable, I’ve had so many dreams where I just can’t scream because my throat is so dry. Also I love how someone FINALLY used something other than a burst safety valve as an excuse for a breakdown.
Ive never seen someone tackle a boiler explosion in the TTTE universe before, and yet this is honestly the best way anyone will probably ever do it. No blood, no organs, and yet it's absolutely horrifying. The use of boiler tubes and locomotive parts to create what can be best described as "body horror" is amazing. I also like how Percy looks slightly diffirent, as does the viaduct, and the stations. It just make things feel off contributing to the creepy factor. This is definitly one of the best TTTE horror films out there. Fantastic work.
this was incredible and scary without any jumpscares. the story itself was fantastic, the models of the 3 ghostly spirits are very impressive. cheers to everyone that helped on making this story and video possible for everyone to enjoy. :D
Dude this is perfection. The custom Models for the engines and their different death models. The music is perfect. The use of the hybrids models are nice. The story telling is perfection. Sad though. Percy has trauma noe
Loved this. Your direction and atmosphere is top notch, and the scene with the 3 spectral engines specifically is brilliantly executed. I love the ambiguity aspect of the story too, leaves your mind with plenty of room to try and rationalize what happened- putting you in the same headspace as Percy at the end, presumably. The season 2 aesthetic really works well here too, as a kid this season specifically always felt a bit eerie at some points, could never really put my finger on why though. It'd be awesome to see more like this in the future!
I absolutely LOVED this! That sequence of Percy’s nightmare had me on edge! I also love the S2 aesthetics and atmosphere, incorporated with RWS. Really genius! Nice work, Jace! This video and your return has been a treat!
Very excellent, loved the season 2 vibe from it all, and the little jingle when Percy told the tale of Jack and Jill. I also really got chills from the spectral encounter and how ambiguous the ending is. Although there is somewhat of an explanation for why there are three engines and not two, that is hidden within the story's document, it has faded text, making it hard to see, and frankly I think it would be best for it to be left out in episodes, as people are left to speculate rather easier than it just being easily explained away.... If you have pressed the read more option, you want to know what the faded text in the document says; and it goes as follows: Jack and Jill did climb the hill but their tenders had plenty of water. The two clanked past a struggling train who's boiler was to cause a disaster. The boiler then burst, and Jill went first over the viaduct's side. The rest came down, Jack broke his crown and everyone surely died. I don't blame those who read the story for missing this detail, as it's easy to miss if you don't look hard enough. As I said, it's probably for the best if someone left that part out, as it adds to the mystery of Jack and Jill and the third spirit.
@tcfsjace I mean visually it wasn't, but the words explaining the truth aren't said, since the faded text is at the end of the story, below the picture.
Upon relistining at 15:07 or so the words of the faded text are heard, but their too soft and fast to make out what they say, though I guess it's the faded words. Clever, really clever.
@@ChowderTDMOFCAL Just after credits before the video ends, like 15:05 or 15:04 at best, You'll have to slow it down, raise up the volume, and then figure the rest yourself.
Capturing the image of Season 2's atmosphere to a tee is impressive alone but how it's used to the advantage of this story's tone is phenomenal; The night shots in this video have got to be some of the best I've seen from this community with those drab browns and blue tints thanks to the fog, even moreso once it becomes pitch black. I always believed there was so much range in the classic Jupiter sound from the Clearwater seasons and the way those deep, layered synths create suspense is unmatched once the spectors come out. There's a lot to gush about but, to put it simply, the whole thing's a knockout: a real high quality production.
Genuinely, this is TERRIFYING. The ominous story of Jack and Jill, the trio of old engines, the fusable plug...it's actually giving me chills. I think that workman, whoever he is, needs to come forward. I, for one, would like an answer to all of this.
Okay, this is fan-fucking-tastic. the whole scene with the spectral engines was terrifyingly beautiful! I just NEED to point out how at 8:53 the lights look like eyes watching percy from afar. And again at 9:28 it looks like a malevolent face in the clouds watching over. GREAT JOB JACE!!
This was fantastic. As someone who works on steam locomotives irl, the attention to detail in the rhyme, the punched-in smokebox face (475 reference?) and the fusible plug (instead of a safety valve-overdone) was super good
Holy cripes, that scene with the ghosts was amazing. Had me legitimately feeling on edge. The designs were creepy but also wouldn’t be too out of place in the one off scary episode that everyone remembers from their childhood. Good job!
I really loved this video! The season 2 style is nailed perfectly in this, especially the story, which haunted me a lot with the Spectre sequence included! Well done, Jace!
Mate, the Season 2 aesthetic and camera mannerisms here are captured to absolute *PERFECTION* within Trainz's limitations. Truly mind-blowing that with enough precise tweaking and dedication, you can truly capture a Classic Season's look.
You are late for Halloween but that doesn't matter as this is quite the masterpiece! It has such a flawless Season 2 look to it, (even having a reference to a Season 3 episode) and a great story with amazing models. The old Victorian look of the ghost engines, (Jack, Jill and Joe? Jane? Job? John? Jeb? Judy?) might suggest that these were once a trio of early Sodor engine before one suffered a boiler explosion in the presence of the others resulting in all being scrapped. The face of the said engine looks very Michael Myers!
This story was masterful! So many creepy Thomas tales state the ghosts as fact, but this one.. there's an ambiguity to it. Are the ghosts real, or was Percy just dreaming? Was it the story from the workman playing around inside his smokebox, or was he actually visited by these spectral phantoms of the rails... It's very reminiscent of Duncan Get's spooked in that respect - definitely one of my favorite fan episodes! The camera work, cinematography.. choice of props and locations was inspired! Well done to all involved! thank you :3
Absoutley loved the sets here, and how you tackled "body horror" in the ways an engine would be scared (i.e the engine with boiler tubes where the face should be)
Ok this is actually one of the most scary things this fandom has ever put out. The scene with the ghost engines was incredible and horrifying. Mad respect bro.
JACE !! this was too good, bro, i thoroughly enjoyed myself. your sense of editing compounded by the utilization of music to enhance the horror elements of the story truly elevated my viewing experience. i really dig the seamless implementation of the hybrid sets, engines, tenders, etc. it feels very organic, definitely gives off a sort of “” au “” vibe that doesn’t feel abrasive in execution, if you know what i mean. mike’s narration is impeccable as always, loved hearing him act out percy’s harrowing wails. also deeply appreciate the ambiguous ending, the minute remnant of the specters was possibly the most unnerving aspect of the story imo, and percy’s subsequent trauma induced despondence and vigorous ruminating only leading to no grounded, earthly conclusions was *mwah* perfect. excellent work as always, jace.
The way the specter is described with its face crushed inward, combined with the unclear imagery of its face becoming clear at the final second of the nightmare reminded me of the elevator scene in Autopsy of Jane Doe, where a faceless corpse slowly shuffles towards the protagonists in a dark hallway while they attempt to escape via a faulty elevator. When the corpse is inches away from the elevator, the lights flash, revealing the gruesome visage where his face used to be.
An absolutely masterful adaption of the story. I greatly enjoyed working with you on this! The composers and the music direction for this were the highlight of it for me, as they really set the tone in every scene. Direction was brilliant, and im not ashamed to say the ghost scenes were genuinely chilling.
I have never experienced this much hopelessness and dread in a Thomas horror story ever. The designs for the three specters are truly terrifying and unsettling. And the S2 lighting really elevates those feelings. Absolute fucking cinema.
Really great work here. The spooky dream was just excellent. I really loved the Season 2 styled RWS sets and the aesthetic overall. And a banger OST for sure. Your return was worth the wait!
This is one of the best horror stories the fandom has ever made! The visuals and models are stellar, and the narration is great. This is the type of horror that fits the series the best, without having unnecessary gore, or jumpscares. Truly amazing.
It's great to see back to the swing of making stories like this again. And holy cow, you manage to make this scary. Even in a season 2 format. The part with Percy and those 3 ghosts freaked me out. What a wonderful job here. We hope to see you do this again. Until then, happy holidays!
Holy hell, you had me forgetting it was Christmas season for a second, that was so well edited and the narration from theburiedtruck heightened the experience.
This is the first time I've heard the story and seen it adapted in this way by you. Your incredible work is awesome. It's really well made, and the effects used to make this video make it feel like it's part of the original series. Great work, Jace!
What a horrifying story that was, as of the latter half. And had the feel of the second season (some of it even reminded me of "Thomas, Percy, and the Dragon"). Nice work on Percy's story, and I was also quite on edge by that whole nightmare scene. That last shot of it was rather creepy, but right when it went to the next one, I was both confused and relieved that it was only just that. But that screw on the side of the rails seemed to indicate the contrary to that dream. Though that thing could've just been from something else entirely. Maybe. Even while Percy was traumatized by what he saw, I don't feel right about him still not being able to tell anyone about it. It's best he tell them in order to get rid of the trauma he's now had. It'd help more better that way.
I already knew something was coming after Percy told that story. After Henry rushed by and j saw there was still a LOT of run time left, boy did i get nervous. Great job Jace. And who knows, like many of these older ghosts, maybe are old and wise Edward knows a thing or two about Jack, Jill, and the third engine.
At first I thought Percy might have had an engine’s version of sleep paralysis possibly caused by his mind trying to make sense of what the workman told him was real and what the engine(s) looked like. However after seeing part of one of the engines on the ground when he woke up completely changed my theory. People have said it before but I’ll back them up. The way you portrayed the boiler explosions and crushed in face of the ghost engines is EXACTLY how to do it in my opinion m. None of this blood stuff like in Sodor fallout. Just using realism to make it look horrifying as well as the main engine having a cadaverous, corpse like face. While the boiler tubes make it look supernatural there would be no need to add blood to them as it would be very confusing as to why an engine would have blood and where exactly it would originate. Also the fact there’s no jumpscare is an added bonus just creepy front facing shots of the engines like at 11:29. Top notch and truely terrifying! 10/10 for me! 👍
I have an idea for another Thomas horror story. It's called "The 13th Passenger". A mysterious train is seen running at night when there isn't supposed to be one though none of engines believe it. Then an old firelighter tells the engine he thinks he knows what it is and tells them a story. The story goes that 80 years ago an engine left Norramby bound for Barrow just before midnight. On board were 13 passengers, one of which was a mysterious man in a black hat and coat. the next morning 12 of the passengers were found wandering a farmer's field in a daze, with no recollection of how they got there, but they all believe the mysterious passenger had something to do with it as the engine and its train were never found. Later that night Henry encounters the spectral train while pulling the Flying Kipper, which leaves him frighted and unwilling to take the Kipper or any night train for a while
I really love this adaption and interperation of a rhyme. If it was an actual season 2 episode, It be the second story to have a rhyme reference (First being "The Sad Story of Henry". I would also like to think as an 'What if' where if Awdry didn't request for to adapt only his stories. They would write original stories, this would be one of them. Great Work😀❤
Now, see? THIS is exactly how you make a scary story and "body horror" work in the Thomas universe! I was more scared here than I've been for anything Thomas and horror in years! All the while, it still felt straight out of the show with fantastic music, stellar camera work, great effects, amazing scenery, and best of all, INCREDIBLE GHOST ENGINE DESIGNS!!! I love how it ends too, no clear-cut answer on if Percy was really dreaming or not, leaving us with several questions. What I want to know most is, why were there 3 spectral engines? The ghost story, as Percy explains it, only features the 2 engines, Jack and Jill, so who's the third? Also, which spectral engine was Jack and Jill? All these questions and more still dance around in my head, which is perfect for a scary story! Overall, it was an amazing and spine chilling video, everyone. Great job! Also, side note; I love the Thomas styled Super Mario Bros 3 World Map Overworld remix at 6:23. That was so charming! X3
This was glorious to watch bro, like oh my god. The lighting, sets and you nailed the Season 2 vibes here! Hopefully we can see more of these videos from you in future ❤️🫡🔥
This story works so well. The dark and disturbing story Percy hears from the work man. Percy tells it so bluntly and it doesn’t sound that serious until you think about it a little more. The scene with the specters was beautifully done. I have to say I was duped after Henry went by the first time because this seemed like a classic series story so it would have a happy ending so the specter scene took me off guard. Sorry I’m like rambling really bad but you did such a great job with this!
Jesus Christ. I don't think my blood has ever run colder then it has before after watching this. Can you imagine if this had been an actual episode made in Season 2?... kids of the time would never of slept again!. I think the most terrifying thing about this is it's mystery. Jack & Jill we can presume are the two dead engines on either side of Percy... but who in god's name was the third one with no eyes!?, because a third engine wasn't mentioned in the story at all. 😨 We need a Part 2 to this asap, cause something tells me there's more to this ordeal then meets the eye. This is the quality content i will always adore fans making for the T&F universe. ABSOLUTELY SUBURB job man!!!. ⭐⭐⭐
DANG, This was really good! I'm surprised you didn't release this on Halloween, as this would have been perfect to watch then! Story-wise, the ending did feel a bit sad though, and incomplete in a sense. The camera work and soundtrack were amazing though! Great work!!!
This joint kept me on my toes since the 8 minute mark, really appreciate the restraint on not jumpscaring us to! Great work to everyone who participated in this :D
DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT THE MYSTERY TO BE SPOILED!!! I Think The First engine Percy see's is The first one that blew up. The red one to Percy's Right is Jack He broke his Firebox Crown which means his boiler would've burst too And his cab is crushed from falling off the viaduct The third and final one, with its face pushed in, must be Jill, because she fell off the bridge, her boiler didn’t burst. Her face must have been damaged from falling so high and that's why we hear two explosions and a crash Because Jill didn’t explode and her boiler is intact At least I think so^^ I'd like to think that the end line of "What the workmen told him was the truth or not." Doesn't mean whether or not the story is true I think it's about Whether or not Percy knows the full story or if The Workman even told it right
LOVE how it wasn't stated whether what Percy saw regarding the ghosts was a dream or not, leaving it up to the viewer to decide what could've happened.
This was a good story, I think it should have been released around last month, but I understand that these stories take time to adapt. it's still a watch, even though it was a month late.
This, This is something special Narration = good audio, good acting and good impressions of the other characters Visuals = solid consistent visuals, excellent mood setting, whilst the heavy shaking is a thing is not too bad just tune it down a bit as it actually helps to give the video a more organic feel Audio = clean audio, good volume levels, Great environmental awareness (things like Gordons whistle gets distorted by the strong wind) I could Gush about all the other great bits of this production but since we don't want a comment that ends sometime this side of Christmas ;p. I will just say that this is one of the greatest fan projects I have seen in a fairly long time, and will be keeping an eye open for any more to come ;p
NOTICE: APOLOGIES FOR THE HEAVY SHAKE - PREMIERE PRO MESSED IT UP, THANKS ADOBE
Unintentional but it helps feel like the shake you'd get on a CRT Television
It’s okay man the shakier the better and more scary that’s what I like about it
It's fine. You'll get the vibration fixed, and then you could try again re-releasing the non-vibration one.
I don't even mind the unintentional shaky bits, it just made it feel even more authentic!

This was a phenomenal experience! Bravo 😁
A very nice story! Now I wonder who those three engines were. After all, the story was Jack and Jill.... who was the third?
Later that night Henry encounters the spectral train while pulling the Flying Kipper, which leaves him frighted and unwilling to take the Kipper or any night train for a while
For once, I may be grateful that a Depop ad appeared in the best timing possible.
He returns, and immediately knocks it out of the park!
Cheers, and keep up the good work!
This video definitely feels like it could have been a great season 5 episode. Also love the model for Percy
The camera work and lighting genuinely looks akin to season 2. It's even in 4:3! Very nice work!

"Never trust Domeless Engine. They aren't respectable." 😏
The hybrid Percy!
Jack & Jill! More like fears and tears for Percy! Written by BrightTerrier!
Written by BrightonTerrier, actually!
Oooh! Oops!
If two of those ghosts are Jack and Jill, I wonder who the third Ghost is
This joint kept me on my toes since the 8 minute mark, really appreciate the restraint on not jumpscaring us to! Great work to everyone who participated in this :D
The hype is really strong with this one!!
Absolutely stellar work mate. You fr actually send shivers down my spine ngl
This was scarier than Percy’s nightmare in calling all engines
DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT THE MYSTERY TO BE SPOILED!!!
I Think The First engine Percy see's is The first one that blew up.
The red one to Percy's Right is Jack
He broke his Firebox Crown which means his boiler would've burst too
And his cab is crushed from falling off the viaduct
The third and final one, with its face pushed in, must be Jill, because she fell off the bridge, her boiler didn’t burst.
Her face must have been damaged from falling so high and that's why we hear two explosions and a crash
Because Jill didn’t explode and her boiler is intact
At least I think so^^
I'd like to think that the end line of "What the workmen told him was the truth or not." Doesn't mean whether or not the story is true
I think it's about Whether or not Percy knows the full story or if The Workman even told it right
Amazing! needs a follow up for this story
I think there should be a part to this story where Percy talks to Edward about the ghosts that he saw
Still peak, great to see some more of you after so long
LOVE how it wasn't stated whether what Percy saw regarding the ghosts was a dream or not, leaving it up to the viewer to decide what could've happened.
That was grand! I even got scared from this. Bravo! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I had the uncomfortable feeling of getting jumpscared by the scrap engine with no eyes... 😱
Same 😅 I got so nervous, I had to get inside my blanket and cover my screen
Ok this is sick, this looks like the model series!
This was a good story, I think it should have been released around last month, but I understand that these stories take time to adapt. it's still a watch, even though it was a month late.
Such high production! Amazing story! Great premise, and the fact that this feels like an episode from the early seasons! Well done all around!
This would explain his persona in Percy & The Haunted Mine easily.
The VHS effect is really well done here! I almost forgot this was made in Trainz! All the effects were very spot on!
that was insanely good
What a way to return! I'd say this was more than worth the wait. Well done and welcome back, Jace.
9:27 Yo I see that face in the sky
So if one was Jack, and one Jill, who was the third? 🤔
I really love how all sets seem either RWS or concept art based.
That must be very very horrific for Percy
Gordon and Henry aren’t even making eye contact with Percy
No because WHY does this look SO GOOD!!! I love this style so much this video is perfect
This, This is something special
Narration = good audio, good acting and good impressions of the other characters
Visuals = solid consistent visuals, excellent mood setting, whilst the heavy shaking is a thing is not too bad just tune it down a bit as it actually helps to give the video a more organic feel
Audio = clean audio, good volume levels, Great environmental awareness (things like Gordons whistle gets distorted by the strong wind)
I could Gush about all the other great bits of this production but since we don't want a comment that ends sometime this side of Christmas ;p.
I will just say that this is one of the greatest fan projects I have seen in a fairly long time, and will be keeping an eye open for any more to come ;p
Love how u used the hybrid Percy model. Fantastic video ❤️😁
