This series is confirmation that the best things in life often come about unexpectedly. Who would have thought that you would have “stumbled” across this absolute gem on your way home from the Himalayas? Joe, I have to say this is the most enjoyable moto travel series I have ever seen. Full stop.
Thanks Bruce, as always it's great to hear you are enjoying the series. Vietnam is definitely an amazing place to ride and explore, a lot different than the Himalayas but still incredible.
Traveling on a motorbike like this is therapeutic. It's meditation. It's poetry in motion. And you are one profound storyteller, healer, poet, explorer. Loved this episode Joe. Great work as always. Cheers.
It just proves the resilience of these people,by western standards they are poor. But I think they could teach us what it means to be humble, after such destructive. How beautiful are the children, smiling like there is no tomorrow. Always a joy to watch,Thank You ✨
16:02 that sign says: our family needs help. Anyway, great videos and great adventures. I always love seeing my country through foreigners’ perspective. Where you have been so far is also where I have been and seeing it brings back so many treasured memories. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the information, yes it looked like they would need help the land slide took out the side of the house. You have a beautiful country and it is amazing to explore, thanks for watching.
Another great episode. The devastation of the typhoon is largely overlooked by the media, but you highlight it well. Safe travels mate and looking forward to the rest of this trip.
Yes it is so green and yes there was a lot of devastation from the Typhoon, the Vietnamese are a resilient people, I am sure they will bounce back. Thanks for watching.
Joe, what an insight to the devastation there. You gotta feel for the one's affected. I really enjoy when "I must have missed a turn." What you show with those missed turns are a true adventure. Incredible scenery too! 👏😊
Joe, another amazing episode. I’m glad you’re making everyone aware of the devastation from the typhoon. As beautiful as some of the scenery is, it really hits home when you show the aftermath of the storm. I just can’t imagine what it would be like, hoping the best for the locals as they rebuild. Looking forward to the next episode.
Thanks Marko, yes there was a lot of devastation, but the Vietnamese people seem to be a very resilient bunch, I to hope that can rebuild and get back to normal life quickly. As always thanks for watching.
Hi Joe thanks for another wonderful video I can’t wait to get over to Vietnam , I have a friend that has been living in Vietnam for 15 years and he absolutely loves it hardly ever comes back to Australia only when he has too , keep up the good work Cliff from Logan city Queensland Australia I’m on the big island
Man, the devastation is heartbreaking! On the other hand, the smiles on those kids are wonderful! Thanks Joe and I wish you a great 2025 full of adventures.
You are right Paulo so much devastation but the people are amazing and resilient. Hopefully some more fun rides t o com in 2025, as always thanks for watching.
Joe another great episode Those concrete tracks and roads but then the dirt left over from the landslides unbelievable I would have hate to seen that water at full rage seeing how high it was that would have been scary Thanks for the ride Dave
Love your video. They were still working on the mud road in December. And I also loved An's House where you stayed. Stayed there last year. The fire on the first floor really comes in handy when it's cold.
Thanks Steven, wow, it did look like a lot of work to remove all of it.Yes An's place was great so help and friendly. Ahh now the fire place makes sense. Thanks for watching.
Stunning video! I absolutely love the storytelling and camera work. I’m going to make a similar trip in March, and your videos are an incredible source of inspiration for what’s ahead. Keep up the great work, Joe!
It was great that the dog escorted you across the bridge, stopping to let you catch up. Of course, he was in 4 foot drive and had already downshifted to a lower gear. Lol. Amazing how the people have gone through such storms and prior war time experiences and still one can see smiles and hope on their faces. Thanks for the videos. Hopeing there is some good in 2025 for these people. 👍👍
haha yes, 4 foot drive and way better across the train that me, he probably put his paw over his eyes in embarrassing when I stilled it. Yes the Vietnamese are incredible people resilient but also warm friendly and helpful. Thanks for watching.
Been watching reviews on the new Himi 450 as I am considering buying one and I stumbled across your channel. I love your videos, they are so laid back and you seem to ride your bikes that way too. I really enjoy the "I kinda sorta have a plan but we'll see where the bike takes us". SE Asia motorcycle tour in the planning because of these vids. Keep it up!
So many landslides Joe, more than you saw in the Himalayas on last seasons vids. Loving your vids, I'm off to Thailand this week, so I'm hoping to find a ride out there to have some little adventures
Counting the days until the next episode drops. These videos seem to speak to the core of what riding is: Freedom. I hope one day I can follow your tracks and do something like this myself!
Buddy what an Amazing tour full of Beautiful locations in Villages of Vietnam.I suggest you to add time and date on the spot at which you had a break for little bit seeing of the location,Lunch and Dinner time, climate etc for making the viewers more about Vietnam
It's great to hear you enjoyed the episode, I filmed this in October so I can not remember any of those details only the details that appear in each episode.
Hello Joe, wow incredible terrain to say the least, you just left a place that was incredible to another part of the world, so much to explore in this world and what a great place your in now, these people seem to be a simple people and just ever so grateful to be alive unlike the country in which I live where more is never enough, Joe my brother was in some parts of Nam while doing a tour in the war, when u get to some of those places if you could reference them that would be great, these people seem trails that u continually come upon are so interesting, you just never know just where they will lead, anyway as always my friend a spectacular journey you are on, thanks for taking us along, be safe out there, Rob in U.S.
It is an amazing part of the world to explore that is for sure. the one thing that does stand out here are the people, they are really friendly warm and kind. Later in the series I do go through the DMZ, and check out some of the left overs from that period of time.
Joe.. loving these episodes mate. And wow that storm sure did some damage. Those people do it pretty tough. But are so resilient and happy. Photography is awesome mate. Thanks for another great part of your journey... Oh and not sure but sounds like the old scram could do with the valve clearances being abjusted in the near future lol. Great stuff mate.👍🍻
Thanks mate, it's always great to hear you enjoyed the episode. The Vietnamese are tough and amazing people. The bike had 26,000km on it and as it was such a last minute there was no time to get it service before I left. I did 7000km on it with not issue (just the bit of noise) it was service once i had finished and all good. As always thanks for watching.
Thanks for another enjoyable video Joe. On a side note, just wanted to mention the music you select is always top shelf. The outro song is also particularly good whoever that is - an Aussie artist?
HI mate, these episodes can take me a week each to edit so I have already left Vietnam. You are lucky to get to visit there every year, it is an amazing country
@freewayproject I understand. I'm sitting on hours of film with no interest to do that time consuming effort and be creative doing it. But you do a fantastic job!
Beautiful, I guess that you are going up to Sapa ? When you climb back down, go to Ninhbing before going south and venture into some of the Cham ruins before Hue and DaNang ;-) Vietnam is a very beautiful country, with diverse climate and scenery that capture imagination and vietnamese people are the nicest people, in trouble they will help you selflessly. Have a nice trip, and thank you for this great video
Thanks mate, it's great to hear you enjoyed the episode, it is an amazing place to ride and explore and yes the people are amazing. I hope you enjoy the rest of the series.
You're welcome, thanks for coming along on the ride. Yes the bike had 26,000km on it when I got it (it was very last minute organising) and it needed a service, but it did the 7000km with no issue and was serviced afterwards.
Great video, looking forward to visiting Vietnam myself, can you please be more detailed in where you are going? I'm sure there are people that would love to visit places that you show, myself included. Looking forward to the next instalment.
Thanks mate. It's an awesome place to ride and explore. I'll try to put more maps up, I'm doing it from memory as I don't have anything that can record the journey.
Hey Joe What a great chilled video Easy pace style you have There was risky bits you encountered you negotiated them well l would say I have a triumph scrambler similar size to your bike Did you ship your bike over from Australia & if so was it difficult ? I’ve learned to speak Vietnamese over 5 months It’s not the best but it sure helps I visited Vietnam 5 times over the last 20years Love it❤
it's great to hear you enjoyed the episode, as mentioned in the first episode Royal Enfield lent me the bike so it is a Vietnamese registered motorcycle. Vietnam is an amazing place to ride and explore I hope you enjoy the rest of the series.
@ l will be watching the rest of the series Joe I’m sure there’s gonna be a few surprises & the country is just amazing That sort riding would suit me fine
Yes, the bike was organised at the last moment it was at 26,000km when I got it and did get time to have a service. But I had no issue on the journey, and the bike did a great job. Thanks for watching I hope you enjoy the rest of the series.
Brilliant episode Joe! After doing this and India you’ve nearly got enough experience to tackle our roads in the UK 😂. Did I see you’re using Kreiga luggage, if so, would like to see your set up sometime, please.
haha, maybe a few more countries then I'll have a crack. I have a few gear review on the channel, the one after New Zealand is basically the same as the Himalayas and Vietnam except I don't have my camping gear on these journey's. Links to gear ruclips.net/video/Z8rGUl-uo8c/видео.html&t ruclips.net/video/uQLDQwVrtzE/видео.html&t ruclips.net/video/3fM_YDbOtSE/видео.html&t
Love the videos mate, hope you're having a blast. Where abouts do you get those high detailed maps from mate? Used at 1:10 Could use them on my journeys!
Thanks mate, always having a blast, how could you not in a place like Vietnam. I create the maps, you start with google maps then change the coding to style how ever you want. Then I animate them.
Yes, I should concentrate on riding instead of looking around at everything. It was that steep the tyres wouldn't grip, breaks were fully locked but that didn't stop it sliding haha
you noticed, that was from dropping it the day before through the landslide, don't worry a bit of electrical tape fixed it for the rest of the journey until it was replaced.
Vietnam look very nice.
It is an amazing place to ride and explore, thanks for watching.
This series is confirmation that the best things in life often come about unexpectedly. Who would have thought that you would have “stumbled” across this absolute gem on your way home from the Himalayas? Joe, I have to say this is the most enjoyable moto travel series I have ever seen. Full stop.

Cant wait for next video 🙌
It's great to hear you are enjoying the series.
The typhoon bit shows that traveling around and getting to know the world and connecting with people has its sad moments too.
Yes there was quite a lot of devastation but the Vietnamese are resilient people, hopefully they'll be able to bounce back.
It just proves the resilience of these people,by western standards they are poor.
But I think they could teach us what it means to be humble, after such destructive.
How beautiful are the children, smiling like there is no tomorrow.
Always a joy to watch,Thank You ✨

Thanks mate. It's an awesome place to ride and explore. I'll try to put more maps up, I'm doing it from memory as I don't have anything that can record the journey.
Nice ride Joe 😎
Thanks Hein, it is an amazing place to ride and explore, and I have only just started. Thanks for watching.
@ definitely in the next two years (will hit you up for some pointers if OK). This year is already busy with Africa and Himalayas 😎
Hey Joe
What a great chilled video
Easy pace style you have
There was risky bits you encountered you negotiated them well l would say
I have a triumph scrambler similar size to your bike
Did you ship your bike over from Australia & if so was it difficult ?
I’ve learned to speak Vietnamese over 5 months
It’s not the best but it sure helps
I visited Vietnam 5 times over the last 20years
Love it❤
it's great to hear you enjoyed the episode, as mentioned in the first episode Royal Enfield lent me the bike so it is a Vietnamese registered motorcycle. Vietnam is an amazing place to ride and explore
I hope you enjoy the rest of the series.
@ l will be watching the rest of the series Joe
I’m sure there’s gonna be a few surprises & the country is just amazing
That sort riding would suit me fine
Good stuff bud
Thanks mate, it's always great to hear you enjoyed it.
That thin wood is cinnamon or cassia
Smells unreal riding through cinnamon forests
thanks for the information ,it is definitely does seem unreal. Thanks for watching
Maybe a little noisy tappets in the scram?? I think it's the perfect bike for such beautiful landscape.
Yes, the bike was organised at the last moment it was at 26,000km when I got it and did get time to have a service. But I had no issue on the journey, and the bike did a great job. Thanks for watching I hope you enjoy the rest of the series.
@@freewayproject I'll keep watching you, sure!

Much of the landscape looks like the Northeastern part of India, hopefully you will go on riding spree around Northeastern India too....
I hope you in the future ride around the north east of India. Yes it is very beautiful here. Thanks for watching.
It. Was hilarious when you stalled your bike and start rolling down 😂
And look at your indicator 😂😂
Yes, I should concentrate on riding instead of looking around at everything. It was that steep the tyres wouldn't grip, breaks were fully locked but that didn't stop it sliding haha
you noticed, that was from dropping it the day before through the landslide, don't worry a bit of electrical tape fixed it for the rest of the journey until it was replaced.
