Folks as a Ukrainian, I can tell you this. Listen to what Anders is saying. So far he is the one of the very few voices outside of Ukraine whose analysis on our war is super pragmatic and fact based. He never sugarcoats the pit we are in but he never bows down in awe of the "great russian empire which never loses wars" (it does lose them regularly by the way).
Anders, we need more of your presence on Ukrainian RUclips channels to balance out a number of bad "experts" we have inside the country.

Yeah, I think those that have a passing understanding of history view Ukraine as a modern Finland, eminently superior warriors, just too small in the face of overwhelming numbers. Me, I think there's more than a hint of the Russo Japanese war, and in terms of abject failure by Russia, early responses to Barbarossa. It's not a manoeuvre war like WW2, but this also demonstrates most people's complete lack of understanding, if it's like WW1, look how far back Britain, Belgium and France were pushed? I know history, I'm no armchair general, I know enough to know Ukraine is trading space for time, and tonnes of fertiliser for its soil, I just can't see Ukraine losing, that's what I believe. Asking you as a Ukranian, what is your opinion on the potential for political instability inside Ukraine? If the west misplays its hand and throws Ukraine under the bus like he's saying, the one thing I could hope for, as an imperfect, injust, but practical resolution, is that Ukranians could accept a loss of territory and no prosecution of war crimes without a political/constitutional crisis... if that was the condition for peace and real security guarantees, the alternative being Trump halting military aid, would such a thing be feasible?

      Hey Mr Ukrainian:
As an American, tell me one thing, when the hell did Putin ever suggest, insinuate or formally state his desire to subjugate all of Ukraine. He's not the idiot that you idiots take him for. He knows, just like I do, that would be a terrible mistake, even if he could accomplish that. There would be nothing but constant insurrection and turmoil. Take a pill, get a grip. You Ukes are losing dramatically more territory every day, and that's according to pro-Ukrainian US rags like the New York Times and Wall Street Journal. Ukraine is getting their ass handed to them in spite of all that fancy pants US and European equipment, that we (US) simply can't afford to give anymore. Those American attacams that are being used up like candy (and most are being shot down) are almost all used up. Basically, all the US has left is what the US needs for itself. The arrogant Ukes look at my country like an Amazon warehouse for war stuff. You boneheads either go to the peace table or there won't be enough of a Ukraine left to speak of - especially an entire generation of young men to repopulate the country considering how many people left which won't come back along with the horrendous losses on the battlefield.
After all no matter what you care to believe, Ukraine started the war in the East simply because after being empowered by an ultra-nationalist hardline government ((that my country helped see to it implemented simply for the chance to foolishly weaken Russia, knowing what would transpire)) that hated everything Russian and began assaulting the Russian denizens in the far East to abandon their culture at gun point. As far as I'm concerned I hope Trump cuts off Ukrainian welfare completely, I'm sick and tired of carrying your ass - and so is most of the US. Ukraine lost territory, period, due to their own myopia.

Here you have war. And people are lost. Also loosing their will to continue.
The fact of Western influence is strongly infiltrated by Donald Trump. Trying to push into a direction to speed it up.
Its important now to keep your priororitys. Not giving up land. Sticking to plan of joining NATO. Which cant be taken away.
Putin as usual wants a full Russian Government in power . Controling the Country. And that goes back to how the war really started. Russia wanting control.
I dont agree with this man.
You are well placed to keeping your Soverignty. And your Country has had funds from the West spent. That needs to be clarified how its paid back. And is in your favour for support.
Also the fact that Russia needs to repay compensation for damage to property. Death Benifits to familys for the funerals. And stress. Sanctions can be lifted after the war. Provided that the agreed repayments happen by Russia.
There is no way you can have any Russian people in parliment at all.
Now lets see if he replys. I wont. My choice is firm.

It’s obvious because this is the policy Russia has previously pursued in Stalinist and Tsarist times. I suggest to anyone interested a reading of Sean McMeekin’s “ the Russian origins of the First World War.” Then you will find exactly the same motivation. Unfortunately, Russia turns its neighbouring states into impoverished basket states and Russifies them as well. One thing that Anderson didn’t mention is revanchism. The insult of rejection by the ex Soviet, tsarist vassal states burns deeply in the Rusiky Mir soul.

A lot of political disputes are quite nuanced, and there can definitely be cases where compromise is better than conflict.

Fantastic video. I’ve been saying the same since before the invasion began and been frustrated endlessly by my country’s leadership refusing to recognise reality.
Unfortunately, it seems the West has never wanted Ukraine to win. Western leadership has wanted Russia to voluntarily choose to withdraw from Ukraine by making life difficult for Russia.
This view is detached from reality. Russia will not choose to withdraw; the Russian Army must be driven out by force.
The West has to realise this unpleasant but necessary fact, or else the eastern members of NATO will be next. Russia can only be stopped by force: Ukrainian military force, or Western military force.
At present, we are led by men and women who make Neville Chamberlain look brave in comparison are it will lead to us being unready for any direct conflagration with Russia.
Really like your work Anders. Best wishes from the UK

What makes you think Trump doesn't largely understand and agree with Anders. See what I posted above. Trump's peace plan apparently involves European NATO members putting troops in Ukraine to guard its borders. This would effectively isolate it from Russian pressure. Trump isn't pro-Putin or anti-Ukraine. He is opposed to the US being the critical guarantor of Ukrainian sovereignty and supplier of weapons and finances. He sees the issue as a European problem for Europeans to solve and I am beginning to agree with him. If the Europeans and Ukrainians agree to his vision, and the Europeans step up their physical support, but Putin does not, I think Trump will actively and aggressively support Ukraine.

It sounds like your view is that Russia wants the same thing out of a peace treaty as Germany wanted at Munich, 1938. Nazi Germany annexed the border regions of Czechoslovakia, and maintained a decisive, destabilizing influence in the rest of what is now Czechia. Slovakia lost territory, and became a Nazi sattelite.
In your scenario, "Peace In Our Time" means giving Russia Crimea and Donbas, along with a decisive influence over the rest.
A sense that the West has "betrayed" Ukraine will spread disillusionment and even anti-Western sentiment in Ukraine, and Putin knows this.

So the big question that remains is how do we get the relevant people in the West to properly understand what Russia really wants and how that will effect Ukraine, and in turn European security in the long term, so they don’t keep making the same wrong assumptions and end up gifting Russia a deal that Putin really wants?

We’ve been told that Russia is running out of weapons and ammo since the early months of the war. So I am skeptical on that point. Russia’s primary war aim is keeping Ukraine out of NATO. So I don’t see any peace plan including NATO membership. Moreover, the war itself is a test for any Security guarantees. If any country wants to come to Ukraine’s aid, they should be doing this now, but they are not. It seems like Russia will achieve its strategic goals, whether through negotiation or war.

You can consult Perun's latest video and Covert Cabal on Russian equipment losses. While it's true that some (the less reliable) western sources claimed such things, people like Anders didn't.
Also the war isn't a full test of a Nato agreement, it's only a testament how the older less binding papers (which were purposefully written to be like that) are abandoned by the West and Russia.

If the primary aim was keeping Ukraine out of NATO, that was achieved in 2014- the border conflict prevents a country joining NATO...

    • @FreedomFox1
      @FreedomFox1 Месяц назад +2

@ Ukraine never recognize the annexation of Crimea, which could have been retaken with NATO assistance (removing all NATO assistance is also a war aim of Russia). Finland’s membership in NATO does not pose the same strategic threat, particularly without major infrastructure improvements. Ukraine poses a unique threat because it turns Belarus into a salient which undermines Russia’s most vulnerable flank.
