I think he had his own style. His contribution of bring ghazals to a common man is unforgettable. Nobody could do it. That’s because of his simple tunes. Mind you simple is difficult and difficult is easy as every seasoned person will say. I think he is the greatest of all. Since he had it all simplicity and performance both.
I am listening his gazals from 1982. I live this human being who is jagjit singh. He enriched my life so much. I wish every human can do this for other. Than we had heaven on earth. It is a illusion but wishes are there to be made. Love to all who bring his music to layman like me. 🙏🙏🙏💖

Jagjit’s contribution towards promotion of Urdu ghazal is tremendous. Mehdi Hasan ruled as the King but showed the way forward to a lot of singers. Hariharan is another living example of someone who started off following Mehdi Saheb and then allowed his own creative style to show him the way.
