You must have one of the world's largest collections of old-time Lionel trains and accessories! Impressive!

As a collector and modeller myself, I must confess this is the greatest collection ever seen. And Lionel!! Congratulations. Greetings from Argentina!

the fuel tank-less units are an eyesore for realism....I'm lucky enough to have three gold GM50 GP7's in O from lionel.

Fuel tanks can be purchased. Also, there were small fuel tanked lightweight GPs and passenger GPs with the water tank removed (which covered the smaller fuel tank) that looked almost tankless. Look for pictures of the real life L&N GPs that were built on switcher trucks!

Your Pennsylvania GP is exquisite, excellent lettering, which is rare. Nice find and another great video.

When I watch your videos they remind me if how many different models I would like to acquire. some of them I would leave it as is others I would adapt to command control, simply because I like building complicated manifest just for my own entertainment the beauty of 0 scale is the hands-free aspect. thanks for sharing !!!

Good job with the video! I love the layout and the trains. Also I didn't catch if the 2028 has magnetraction or not.

All of them have magnetraction. I should have stated that more clearly. Some do not have a horn or only one light like the 2028.

Thanks I had just wondered if they all had the same motor truck with the magnet or not.

Seems as though their popularity Ebbs and flows as the saying goes everything old is New Again I've met youngsters that were born in the 80s and 90s that are getting interested in trains most have never been introduced they're very appealing, nothing virtual about them they can hone many skills in the hobby that transfer in their work environment!

Further videos on postwar are in planning including on the F3. I, however, only produce videos drung the winter period and I will soon start my summer break. Then I will continue in fall.

Always been a discussion about long end or short end first. Not all railroads ran them the same way. N&W always ran long nose first. The Wabash ran short end first. Lionel always showed long end first in the catalogs. I see you are a Long end first guy. I notice your Pennsylvania only had a light in the short end. Maybe the other was blown. I'm a short end first guy. Better visibility but much can be said about safety.

Why are you running GPS backwards

  • @MilwaukeeF40C

I wish Lionel would have used accurate paint schemes for PRR and CB&Q. MILW is too black. My interest was NYC, never made during "postwar" so I got the all black and lightning versions from the 80s and 90s. Also got a lightning NYC F3B (2344) hopefully for an eventual ABBA set but it will look good with the geeps as the locos ended up mixed like that by the 1960s. I only care for traditional, conventional Lionel.

it was right around 1957 (the year of sputnik)
when Lionel went off the rails
with rockets and satellites and helicopters and submarines
and bobbing balloons and ducking giraffes
    and pastel locomotives -
    ridiculous cheap plastic junk.
it was only a matter of time before Lionel went defunct.
of course they're back in the game now -
    with ultra-sophisticated mega-locomotives that require rock-star royalties - or a second mortgage.
glad i got this bug out of my system.
