Okay first off, don’t argue with metro at an active crime scene that is clearly not safe yet. Second of all, do you really think that’s the best way to represent your employer?
I’m a news photographer, and I don’t work for them. We deal with this every damn day. The police put up some crime scene tape and a crowd gathers and then they single out the news person with the camera and tell him he has to go somewhere else. We are tired of it. We have just as many rights as the everyday citizen to film Police. If they put up tape and then tell people to leave, then there’s no point in putting up the tape to begin with. In this case, this photographer was standing in a crowd of people, and they told him to leave even though he was behind the tape that they themselves put up. We are getting to the point where we are having to ask people in the community for permission to use their front yard or backyard to film in because the police are discriminating against anyone with a camera. They are going to get sued in the upcoming year, if this continuous.
