I’m the daughter of an old school newspaper man, since the end of the Fairness Doctrine (not perfect, but helpful) in 1987 our media has slowly deteriorated to the point where the average citizen has to actively seek out and evaluate the media for truthful facts. Combine that with the erosion of our educational system, corporate takeover of media outlets, affordability crisis and religious manipulation and we have the perfect storm. I’m continually shocked by the people I know who have so much to lose who don’t vote.
