I think she had very slim chances. The label made them slimmer, but they were always slim. She wasn’t going to be taken seriously, she always was going to elicit extreme skepticism. And she didn’t have enough public morbid curiosity about her life to get enough curious listeners to sample/buy her album for amusement only to find it had some quite good songs. Paris Hilton in the 2000s had the benefit of being an A-list celeb (often derided as a “celebutard” at the time) who constantly made the covers of tabloids. That’s why she managed to get some respectable movement on her debut album. Heidi, however, was a secondary character on a reality show who rarely made magazine covers until the extreme plastic surgery story (which was just too offputting). She didn’t have the same level of interest that Paris did to generate curious listens. I say this as one of the few people who gave the album a listen when it was first released. Even purchased a song or two for download back then (rare club)

This song is flirty and fun and feels like summer and her rehearsal outfit colors popped on her more and she’s got great legs and I feel the performance outfit despite having sequins falls sooo flat and comes off looking like a sparkly gym outfit, which while cute didn’t work under the stage lights for some reason🤷🏽♀️. And shoes. Maybe if she were wearing heels that would’ve helped the outfit/performance pop more. A for effort though.
