I met a girl in 1991. Northern England. We rolled around the floor to 'Catch the Breeze'. High as kites. Too young to know, too wild to care. Time made fools of us too. But I wouldn't have guessed that 32 years later we'd still be together or that Slowdive would be releasing their finest song to date. Both those things are happily true. This song is wonderful.

"Masterpiece" is a word thrown about lightly these days but this song is worthy of that title. My only complaint: it's too short.
I would have definitely preferred a 6-minute version here, too ... and the ending comes way too abruptly ... a bit strange

One of my favorite bands of all time as well.
The child and teenager in me will always be alive, thanks to beautiful artists and songs like this. Time goes by fast, but deep inside we’re still the same young person waiting to feel that first excitement again. Never lose the ability to connect with your young self who is exploring, discovering and trying to figure out life.

It's perfectly fine on my end. You may want to get new equipment. You'll be ripping (ripping Slowdive off) and "slow and reverb" their beautiful track anyways. I'm sure of it.

Song is fine
Yeah, the volume is lower than intended and the shorter duration somewhat hurts the pace a bit. Album version is incredible, don't sleep on it if you're not sold with this one.

Yeah, this is my favorite on the album, although “Shanty” is also great. This track reminds me of “Don’t Fear the Reaper” in a very positive way

thought this was an old song i'd never heard. slowdive has such a timeless sound
Here’s what I make of that video:
She conjures control over that natural plant thing which shows a menacing machine flower at first as a warning. She finally uses the plant to take apart the wall but it overwhelms and becomes more machine like and destroys the whole wall which falls around her. As the bricks fall they begin to form a maze she stands outside. In the very far distance a tree sits on the horizon. She is now distanced from nature.
This seems like our use of tech to control nature that will ultimately turn on us.
Anyone feel this take?

For me this track is most reminiscent of pre-reunion Slowdive. It’s as if they didn’t age at all, they just continued where they left off. Beautiful track.
Sonically, this sounds like it's going to be the most cohesive album since Just for a Day. Loving all the new tracks...
that's what I've been saying! glad someone else gets it. all in all, it's great to see this band evolve as they age, musically and otherwise.
Hearing and losing myself in this song reminds me why Slowdive is my favorite band.

What a thrilling track. The vocals of Neil and Rachel are majestic
Love the song but serious question....why do ALL Slowdive songs have the SHORTEST and most ABRUPT fade outs at the end of songs when you're dying for it to continue for a while more and fade out slowly, but they always just fade out so fucking fast it's suddenly over in like 3 seconds....this shit is killing me. WHY! It's so fucking jarring and just yanks you out of the vibe the music creates instead of letting it drift away and give you the lingering feeling a fade out is supposed to give. I'll never undestand this.
