This is the movie that finally made me listen to my older cousins. "Your life is worth more than this." I only went through a taste of this. I think it's cool that a lot in the younger generations don't recognize this madness. That's how it should be. Shout out to my people who felt like they didn't have a choice and did the best they could.
GREAT reaction - Very authentic - Respect! (I just joined your channel fam). This is one of my favorite films - No matter how many times I watch it, it leaves me feeling like I was the one that got shot at the end... 😞
I saw this movie at the $1.50 movie theater twice when i was a kid. I hate that Caine died & i wanted him to make it out of the hood. The lesson of this movie is everything catches up with you in the end. Rewatching this as an adult i realized that Caine was doing too much & the movie did a great job of making him look like the protagonist. I don’t think Illena was pregnant, she pretended to be in order to trap Caine. Samuel L. Jackson’s acting credits goes all the way back to 1973. Jungle Fever was his breakout role & Pulp Fiction was his Magnum Opus. Clifton Powell was a good guy in Why Do Fools Fall In Love, Ray, The Gospel & Black Lightning. Here are some fun Facts: Eazy-E was supposed to play O-Dogg, Spice 1 was supposed to play Caine & MC Ren was supposed to play A-Wax. MC Eiht & Clifton Powell did voiceovers on GTA: San Andreas. Stacy played by Ryan Williams was also in Tales From The Hood & Dead Presidents.
Laurenz was absolutely insane in This one .. like crazy ain’t even the word 😂🔥 a hood classic ! .& right after this he did a movie called the Inkwell & you wouldn’t even think that’s the same person 😮💨.
this is def one of my favorite movies of all time. i will never forget watching it for the first time when quarantine first came around. this movie made me feel some kind of way because this is how a lot of people grow up unfortunately.
A great film with an amazing cast. I don't know if you knew that Tupac was suppose to be in this film. But he and the Hugh brothers had an altercation and he was replace by Vonte Sweet who played the character Shariff who Tupac was suppose to play. Another Hughes Brother's movie you should check out is Dead Presidents in which starred Larenz Tate and Chris Tucker in which is an amazing film. I feel the lesson from watching this movie is "Don't push your time" which is something my parents will tell my siblings and I that in what means you got all the time to think things through. If you got the time to change then do it. Only god will give you a certain amount of chances to change before it to late. I feel that describe Caine. I understand the environment that he lived in was bad. But he has good grandparents who tried to get him to change as well Sharif dad who try to warn him. And he waited to the end to try and change and it was too late. Great reaction\commentary and I hope you have a wonderful day. Stay safe, stay positive, stay blessed, take care and stay amazing.
Thank you for this comment l. I wasn’t aware until of the details but I had heard the rumblings. I wonder how that would’ve been with him but I did enjoy the Shariff character. Thank you for the suggestion that one is on my list and it’ll probably be my next drama. I agree that’s an excellent takeaway from this. True negative environment or not there were positive influences for him to listen. The grandparents definitely cared for him and Shariffs Dad was getting through to him but he still made the decision to stomp out that dude. I think Caine had a pivotal moments that he could’ve made a change and maybe had a better ending. The part that gets me is if he didn’t beat up old boy and took a different route he maybe could’ve made it to Atlanta. It’s a powerful ending either way we can always speculate. Thank you again for the posit comment and discussion. You as well 💯🙌🏽
@@OriginalPsychoOP You're welcome and I agree I like the Sharif character too. I also agree that Caine's bad decisions making and waiting too late to change cost him his life. I felt as well if he was able to learn from his mistakes very quickly. He would've lived a happier life.
@@phar0ahad3 yea Absolutely I’ve heard of that movie but never watched it. It will be a change of pace but I’m definitely adding that to the list. Thank you for the suggestion
Good reaction. Sorry that you had to witness some of the same growing up. A very raw and brutal film, that gives an accurate depiction of that life. Good catch on hearing MC Eiht as Ryder. 😂 9:10 Chauncey did the voice for Big Smoke, but that's a harder one to catch, as he didn't use his natural voice for Smoke.
What can I say about this non horror film but in its own way it is a horror film! Fav quote is when Charles s Dutton says I see the way u look at those white girls. U gone. Bring home one of those white devils 😈 lol
Thank you I was a bit worried how it would get received. I will absolutely give that one a watch. I have to prepare for that one. Thank you for the suggestion

Sharief just became the victim of circumstantial violence.......Caine was a tragic soul.

10:58 The AUDACITY 🤷🏾♂️🤣🍔🍟
Seeing it is one thing but seeing it so much that it becomes normal not only to see but act out is what's really sick and sad.
What’s popping slime this is a hood classic !
What’s goodie MoB yes it is. I swear the realism got me.

Golden Doe your the best. Thats one of my favorites. You should check out Dead Presidents. Lawrenze Tate is a badass in that movie too. 👊🌹

Yes I think that’s what makes this hit so hard. The depiction of the hood is pretty spot on and there are real people in situations just like these.
This movie change me when I first saw it back in 1993 this as a lil boy at 7 yrs old this is why I don't live the street life or glamorize it

Movie changed my life
Put simply what Scarface was to the gangster/drug cartel movie genre, M2S was for hood gangster flicks.
That’s an excellent point and like Tony Montana , O dog is seen as that dude to be.
I grew up watching a lot of movies like this one of a life lesson movies & the song by MC Eitht May be old but, it is still the shorn🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
