I also voted for the beige, very nice packaging for the price and nice hard shell , got mi e 3 days ago , my first Koss headphones, can't believe how good these sound considering there size
black and gold looks way better than it has any right to look. It sounds very tacky, but looks glossy, slick and surprisingly modern. The beige on the other hand is incredibly retro; it reminds me of my grandfather's car seats, older airplane arm rests, and just screams old technology. the red and blue accents are awesome touches as well. Coupled with the fact that you get a hard case and volume/pause control, 60 bucks is pretty damn sweet. Mine have lasted around 5 and a hald years, and the cup covers have just gotten a little too worn and one of the cups snapped off the headband. they're surprisingly tough!
Headphones - for life. Bot their cable? For months. Best headphones ever created. I ue ATH m50x and still love to use KPP in home/running/bike/outside.
How could the gold and black win over the all-white one? It could’ve been so legendary. It’s cool to know that these headphones have made their way to alternative counter cultures now. They’re an in-demand niche accessory in grunge communities which is how I learned they existed. The beige is amazing. Question, I read the cable is 50/50, how could someone upgrade the cable?
Have been using these since 1984. My favorite ones are the limited ones I got from Best buy. They are completely black with a cloth black cord. Almost like the 25th anv with the black and white cloth cord.
I would love a pair of the beige ones, they look so cool, but they’re really expensive now so I got some of the original black and blue ones instead which are still really cool
Ordered a pair of gold ones and they are stunning. I think I might have to get a pair of the rhythm beige to match my pro4aa's I'm a big Koss fan also. That's the only brand I buy.
I'm not crazy about how either actually look, but I would say the beige is my favorite. I have three pairs if the classic version already, don't think I'll be getting this version, but it's a good price. My portapros have lasted for years, sent one to be fixed once, they have been sturdy. a case is recommended. I'm not a heavy user though. They sound very good, though the bass is heavy, (I am not a basshead, tho!) it makes them sound better at lower volumes I think. I usually don't mind the warmer tone of the sound, only occasionally.
Estas maravillas, prácticamente son gratis. Podría costar 500 dólares y yo y muchos los pagaríamos. Verdaderamente preciosos y fantásticos. KOSS PORTAPRO. SONIDO MARAVILLOSO.
I remember having some Radio Shack Titanium Pro 25 headphones in the early 1990s. Made for RS by Koss. They sounded pretty good on my portable CD player with the bass boost feature on the CD player, or so I thought at the time. Lost them somewhere along the way, and graduated to Sennheiser and Audiotechnica headphones. ($150- $500 headphones) For kicks and giggles I tried Koss headphones again,
Koss is known in Norway! If you live in Oslo you can see a lot of people with porta pro on a daily. My friends used to joke around with them being annoying cause the headphones could play pretty loud if you sat on a tram/train next to a guy who had the volume at +++ ..lol
@@cameronstoltie5952 they dont suck. They are great... They sound the same and everything. The only bad thing is the looks of the battery pack hanging around
Hi, I'm looking for first Koss love. The HV1A. I found a couple of rough looking ones on ebay but nothing to pull the trigger on. Anyone have a nice set for sale?
It is probably the lower end models that sound like that. The Edition 8 sound the exact opposite. Really, really clear and deep, tight bass. Maybe not all the Ultrasone headphones are good, but the people who call all of them bad are just haters.
Gold plating has uses in HiFi and audio. Gold is a worse conductor than copper and silver. However, it can not corrode. So that's why having that outer layer of gold is good for the audio equipment.
I think you mean gold accents, not gold plating. Real gold is very soft so it is often plated over another metal. Doubt these headphones have real gold.
That's interesting... My Portapros are Made in Mexico but it seems like the newer ones are Made in China now? Did Koss change factoies or something? Also my Portapros doesn't have the screw on the left side...
My son and I have tested some Philips headphones and a Koss Portapro of the same price. The Philips shp 2600 sound much better ... I personally use some Sennheiser Ovation and the Portapro are just laying around... Beige is nice.
The gold looks awesome! I wish they updated the design though, to still keep the retro feel but make it a little more modern. Keep the round ear cups but get rid of that ugly plastic shape on top of them. It would sell millions!
true! I have Sennheiser HD 201 (23$ US price) and I absolutely love them and use for 5 years (second one, first one - cord destroyed after 3 years), because sound quality and comfort is very good and I can't find any better sound and comfort for about 100$ price limit LOL
These headphones are so cheap and crappy made, awesome, really. I had one of them, it tooks some weeks then the foam cushion of the left earpiece was broken, after a few weeks later the coil of the right one, gave up working. Cheap plastic, poor quality, thin cable.... nothin' more to say.
They should keep the beige
It’s one of those limited editions that’s not really limited xD

Personally, I prefer my all-black ones, but between these two, the beige is better. Gold is a bit too gaudy for me. lol

I have them, yaxi pads and upgraded cable, but even stock they are amazing, probably the best entry into really good audio anyone could ask for.
Oh yeah....they were my first ones! Still have them today :) iconic product!

I love the black and gold . Planning on buying some very soon for myself.

I prefer the Rhythm Beige color. I love Koss Porta Pros. My only problem with them really is the thin cord. It is very easy to damage.
Listening on some koss sport clips that I bought at meijer pretty good sounding headphones
I was gonna get the original black but after watching this video I think I’m gonna get the beige
that porta pro makes me miss all the walkman tape players i had as a kid......i remember these headphones from the 80's
check out my Instagram page. :)

I snagged the beige color the same as my Sennheiser 598. I also have the original color PortaPros as well just cause. You know Great unboxing. Thanks.

the headphones market has changed significantly and much harder to stay in business. I'm glad KOSS is still here.
I love the silver color it looks nice.
The beige ones are so hhhhh god I love them

The Gold PP's are beautiful. I have to buy one day... ;)
I wanna see a review on the muzik one headphones
Would you suggest the Pro-4aa for everyday use. I don't mind the weight, I just want to know how it sounds w/ my iPad.
Hi-Fi Insider: What i don't understand is how do you use the microphone function?
wish they would have released the white and gold pair.
They have many colors available now.
But what do they sound like? Which one is better? The limited or the regular? One is like $75 compared to 34.00
They should make a bluetooth wireless version of these.
They did.
and a review sed they SUCKED

What is the oldest headphone Koss is still selling new today ? I've already given up on finding better headphone. PP is my fav
hiczok i think the electrostatic ESP950. i have them and they are amazing for the price.
Ray Ramano does headphone reviews?
These are very good for the price although the earpads are way small by today's standards.
Great video, keep it up. I learned a bit about the company to.
Why they're not selling these in Europe?WHY?
😘 Black & Gold ones w/ Yellow Yaxi Pads 😘
Hi, I'm looking for first Koss love. The HV1A. I found a couple of rough looking ones on ebay but nothing to pull the trigger on. Anyone have a nice set for sale?
I swear trying to get my hands on a beige pair is like impossible now
Could you check out some Ultrasone headphones? I have the edition 8 and they are amazing.
TheTechAudiophile same lol.edition 8 plus bass boost function equals amazing
most people say ultrasone are garbage
Durrant miller
Cuz they have no money to buy it. I have edition8, se846, ie800, hd800
Nami Tsu Um most people say they sound muffled and the bass is boomy not sure what the inability to afford them has to do with anything
It is probably the lower end models that sound like that. The Edition 8 sound the exact opposite. Really, really clear and deep, tight bass. Maybe not all the Ultrasone headphones are good, but the people who call all of them bad are just haters.
Hi! The green has final cable angle 180º like l and another 90º like L... Which is better?
Am I colorblind or does the beige color look greenish ?
Hey, it's Papanomaly headphone
Ironic that the sound on this video is mixed low with a narrow bandwidth
Black and gold
Beige better imo. I like gold, not gold plating, it's tacky

beinge because they are more retro looking

Now, the greats brands are in China.
Why not a version with a lightning connector? That would be great!
Are those wireless?
no it is not but I think KOSS makes a new model that is wireless.
Выглядят интереснее классической модели, но по-моему не стоит переплачивать только за другую расцветку и дополнительный чехол.
you diden.t. mention any thing about the sound quality. or bass

Noooooo I wanted the green 😢
I just sold the two I had. Don't know why people want the green more than the other colors.
The beige is pretty sick too tbh but green is just sorta my thing I guess :P
they sound great but koss headphones always go out
The gold looks awesome! I wish they updated the design though, to still keep the retro feel but make it a little more modern. Keep the round ear cups but get rid of that ugly plastic shape on top of them. It would sell millions!
Very good sound for the price, but it's not very good if you're bald, that headband can cut
Suhweet.
maybe Koss is iconic in the US but not here in Europe
Neo Hideo This brings up the question how cheap or expensive good head phones have to be? Also considering that this concept is over 30 years.
true! I have Sennheiser HD 201 (23$ US price) and I absolutely love them and use for 5 years (second one, first one - cord destroyed after 3 years), because sound quality and comfort is very good and I can't find any better sound and comfort for about 100$ price limit LOL
It is a US company. Europes most iconic is probably Sennheiser or maybe Beyer. But in the US Koss is one of the oldest and most renowned.
Neo Hideo koss is known in Sweden
yes they are, wtf
Looks like a weird bra...for your head lol
