Brent, Everytime I watch one of your videos, you just come up with something new. I am old now but boy would it have been fun doing what you do. No shortness of talent for sure....also on one of your other videos, you were talking about something in the US we use to help break engines lose...It is called Marvel Mystery Oil. It is good stuff!!
It's getting there. You have to hit the small tedious stuff too. LOVE the suicide doors. I let my son drive my all original (old) 66 Belair 6cyl to college, I've had since I was 17. He promptly wrecked it. Added a front cap and all the chrome from the 67 Impala. Suicided the rear doors. Put Cadillac interior, console, G6 bucket seats, Studebaker hood ornament, cop lights, etc. Painted it black with White accents and red pinstripes, built a 350 engine in front of the two-speed power glide. She's a cruiser now.
Thanks for this episode. Top Dawg Carona Deghand and I needed entertainment! My GOD heaven forbid anyone trying to diagnose electrical problems on your homemade harness years from now.
Man sir I love your videos. After work each day I love to just get on your channel and watch your projects never a dull moment I learned a lot of stuff from you
I'm so glad to hear somebody finally say supper. I'm from the South and everybody is wanting to call it dinner. That's just wrong. Love your vids and the pup. I have eight of um. Nothing like the company of a good dog.
Sometimes l think your crazy with all these builds, but l think you really like the chalenge of it all plus you do it inexpensively and safely with good quality fabrication, great job! I wished l new your name.
I was never a car builder or mechanic. Seeing everything involved with these LS engines, the wiring, sensors, computers, changing the programming for deleted items??? Good God! For me it looks like it's very involved, but WORTH it if it means a better running engine, no points, no cranky carbs and better reliably!!!!!! I see all the wires and I cringe... For me, this is kind of how our R.F. amplifier systems were at work. The automotive industry has changed a ton, since I was shown how cars work back in 1964....... You have a lot of skills and knowledge. Keep on building them, I'll keep watching!!! I'm loving these builds!!!!
What a surprise when you said lets start her up Smile on my face Thanks for sharing. Oh yea first hit and purrs like a kitten Kool. And i see headlight trim sweet new lights brighten her up. 😃
Excellent video Brent :) also step by step getting up all running nicely for first drive in long time to this Mercury car and hopefully see it on road test in future too!
Many years ago I bought a 1970 Dodge van that was repowered with a 1984 Dodge pick up engine and transmission. It had belonged to a plumber. He was making the exhaust out of 2 inch copper tube with elbows and other parts out of tubing fittings. He even made the head pipes from copper tubing. He hammered the tubing to fit over the exhaust manifold outlets. I put a Y pipe with single muffler to get it running and later had dual exhaust installed with turbo mufflers.
Love the Monarch's dental work. I cant wait to see it with the hood on and admire its looks with a proper lip. Great being with you in the garage as usual Brent. Cheers!
Nice fabrication on your shifter and exhaust. I thought it is a good plan to weld up used resonators repurposed for the main mufflers - yes the car is quiet but likely will pass safety inspection. All good... and, I always appreciate your knowledge of the LS PCM, fuse box and wiring needs for this kind of swap. Hugely helpful, and yep, the install is very "dolled up" (a very Manitoba description) :)
You have more talent in your little finger than I do my entire body. I'm a retired programmer but would kill to be able to do what you do. Love the videos, thanks for posting.
Why would you want to spend money on a muffler vending machine you do quite all right with what you got and all those ones you saved up in your van save your money for the real toys good stuff really enjoy it. 👍👍😀🇨🇦
Not boring at all. Your down and dirty looks like show clean to me on the electronics. Nice line up with the battery, ECU and fuse box. Super nice tunes today. I really like that Jazz in Paris. Exhaust sound perfect. Don't worry, it will growl when you get on it under load. Thanks Brent your channel is the best ! 👍😎🍺🕵️♀️🎹🎵🎸👽🧙♂️😈🥂
Great video! You make it look so easy, oh so easy. I have a 1949 Ford Custom Coupe that has a 8 volt system in it, I assume it was a 6 volt and they did not want to change the wiring and made it an 8 volt. Well every couple years I have to replace the 8 volt battery at a $160.00, price just went up last time I bought one. So, I have been toying around with the idea of changing it to a 12 volt system, which to me is a major process, rewiring, changing alternator, etc. But after watching you and your processes doing one thing at a time, it just might take me a while and a lot of money, but if I get the money, it probably would be a good investment. Thanks again for all your great advise and sharing.
You wouldn't have to do anything with the wiring to keep it simple you could put a 12-volt generator and regulator in it and a voltage drop for your gauges change all your bulbs and call it a day oh and your coil but in the end really not a big deal the swap should cost less than a new battery if you can sore so some of the parts used
@@HalfassKustoms Thanks for you input. I will copy and paste your remarks and save for a later date and give it a try. I cannot do at this time with all my other projects going on. I did just repair my radiator fixing two leaks with soldier, flax and a mini torch, now I still need to reinstall it. After that, I'm going to attempt to adjust, fix or replace the breaks on my black '49 Ford Custom Coupe V8 Flathead.
Looks and sounds like grand granddad's car (depending how old you are) with an extra 300 hp! Always a cool adventure following your exploits Brent. Can't wait for the drone footage on this one!😆
There is no way ANY of this build could be boring or not interesting....keep up the good work...can't wait to see the end result
Pablo was sitting there supervising! I think he approves! 😊✌🏻🇺🇸🇨🇦
Professor kick ass - can't stop watching you bring stuff back to life

Never boring. Sometimes the 'boring' is the most interesting. I appreciate that someone saves these old cars and make them drivers once again.

Looking more and more like a driver… love your dog….
Absolutely nothing wrong with that exhaust Brent, at least it's tidy. I've seen far worse butcher jobs using new pipes and mufflers.
Thank you for another great video brother

Using a step drill to remove a crusty old light socket is a great idea !! I'll remember that !!

What you don't want to tackle the stripped bolt in the steering column. I figured that was a challenge right up your alley.
Good Video not boring.
great job putting a newer V 8 in that car
Good job Brent. Like what you’re doing with this old Merc. Hope you find another steering column for it. 👊😕👍
It's actually beginning to look pretty good. I like it.

As always,a video full of info and how to's for me. Thanks heaps👍
Love it. I'd like more detail on the work (without high speed motion) even at the risk of a longer vid. Signed.. real engineer
