- On his last visit to Australia as part of his annual world lecture tour in 1986, Swami Ranganathananda was interviewed by Ray Martin on his midday show broadcast nationally in Australia. There was a tremendous response to the interview with people calling from around the country asking "Who is that man?"

This is revered Swami Ranganathananda ji Maharaj. He was President of RK Math and Mission for many years. One of the greatest sanyasis of the Ramakrishna Order.

Excellent Speech by Swami Ranganathananda. He, in fact an Encyclopedia in Spirituality, but lesser people in India know his depth especially Keralites. He is a real Jewel from Kerala.🙏

@@mishraamit9652 To be fair, Vedic Aryans were beef-eating guys who mocked much of what was to develop as "Hinduism", such as the worship of the Lingam. Study Vivekananda if you don't believe scholars of history: "You will be astonished if I tell you that, according to the old ceremonials, he is not a good Hindu who does not eat beef. On certain occasions he must sacrifice a bull and eat it."

Thanks for posting the interview. I was lucky to see him back in 1982 in Hyderabad, India when a new Ramakrishna Mutt was inaugurated. He was the chief of the mutt guiding its growth. It is a great place to spend the evening.

The first time I saw this, a few months ago, I felt that the interviewer was being condescending. But I felt that maybe it's a fault with my understanding and not the interviewer himself. So watched it again just now and saw it all in a new light. What a difference the state of mind makes!

For more than a decade I heard his lectures live in Hyderabad on Sundays. An excellent speaker with conviction and an able head of Mutt of Hyderabad and at Belur as President of the International Order of Rama Krishna Mission.
Me too along with another friend. Tnx to my friend, I hardly missed any of his lectures in the RK Math, near Indira Park
I used to attend his lectures on Sundays too...would listen to Kathopanishad..
@@spadmasola Mundakopanishath, Geeta... ... Sunday after Sunday ... ... Year after year. Evening at 05.30 the Vishnu Sahasra Nama chanted by MS would begin. After Hari Om Ramakrishana mantra chant comes for 36 times. He arrives at 06.00.The Bigben in London should check its time for precision. Briefly tells about his activity of the week that just gone. Concludes the talk a minute or two before 07.00. Chants SAHANAVATHU ... Upanishad Sloka. Slowly raises from the seat and walks into the side chambers and departs. Gone are those days leaving traces of harsh summer with the dry leaves that have fallen.

I had the fortune of spending sometime with him. In his biography it's revealed that he joined the Ramakrishna mission at the age of 13. He was healthy and fit to his last day.
