I think that's his story? Maybe he had an infection instead of being attacked by a cat, either way, he was born with eyes but came to us after some sort of catastrophe popped them both.
I very much like the concept of sexual selection and how it plays out in the natural world with regards to the similarity that we can all find among life on Earth, the same way as people have "fashion trends", which are sometimes absolutely random, it seems, no one understands "why" but everybody wants it, to be accepted or attractable, and also there are some useful and informative trends, but those are the minority. It feels like we're all in this network or ocean of signals, which are constantly changing and adapting, appearing and disappearing, amplifying and diminishing, and we all play this game without even realizing it. Thank you for your video 👍🏻
We see hundreds of red-eing blackbirds where I am, and I never caught on that females don't have red wings.! It makes sense, and the reason is very cool!
Question; Where was the wildlife center that you used to work at & how was it with that red winged black bird(btw thanks for helping me learn the actual name of that particular bird species).?
So... basically the wildlife rehabilitation center was cockblocking the bird. Dick move man.
He didn't have eyes, they had been clawed out by a cat.

So what you’re telling me is with some bright red paint I could disrupt their whole survival strategy
You could certainly start a lot of bird fights.
I hear those blackbirds a lot
My favorite bird here in Indiana
Amazing how things work out!
So what was the specific food that created the red pigment?

The shoulders of the bird aren’t red. The wrist/thumb area is.
No lol
@@XGrimzukiX please research bird anatomy.
I ask this, and only in pure jest. I know birds can be male but can they be Man? 🤔
Idk why Dawkins call this sexual selection.
Because it relates to sex in a more direct way
