they performed this song live and it blew up in there and they won that round in immortal song so they did an mv with the original singer of the song but the live performance in my opinion is waaaay better because ateez are really good live
This was a really enjoyable reaction!!! I would kinda love it if you react to the “original” song… it’s so 90s kpop 😁🤣. There’s a couple of live videos on youtube, from the 90s. If you search “Turbo - Black cat nero” or “검은 고양이“ (black cat in korean) it will come up! It’s from 1995-1996 if I remember correctly. It has a different feel to the Ateez version 😊
Thanks for your reactions and comments, yes, this song is an Ateez Version, Halloween MV, I love this song, great tune for the Halloween Season, Top K-pop Performers and Idols, I love these guys!
I literally had the whole timeline typed up, with information about who Kim Jong Kook is and everything, and then Angie read up on them on camera 🤣 It's all good, though, I love seeing you guys checking things out, so I'm here for anything in this lane! I will say that I don't care at all for the Turbo version of the song. I could probably enjoy just the instrumental track (it's like an old-school dance mix), but the vocals just aren't to my taste, so it's not something I listen to (I heard it once for the sake of comparison). Apologies now about the mask, if it's truly unsettling (I thought it might be a joke about masks during the height of Covid, but wasn't sure). Their storyline is vast with deep lore, part of which has a group of their counterparts from another dimension that do often wear masks. If you were to watch through more of their MVs, you'd see more of it, but I think due to music taste you might avoid most of it since you won't likely explore the majority of their discography. KJK's cameo here is genius. They resurrected this song and performed it on Immortal Songs, and then resurrected KJK as an immortal being. I makes my nerd heart happy, and I love it. Since there aren't subtitles, I'd say at least half of ATINYville has no idea what they're saying... many of us are actually learning Korean specifically for things like this, where there aren't subs or so we're more comfortable watching live events or going to fan sign events, etc. A couple of suggestions I didn't already give that you MIGHT be interested in, would be some covers (re-imagined versions) that Hongjoong (the captain of our ATEEZ ship) has done... namely the ones for David Bowie's "Space Oddity" and Linkin Park's "Numb". Now, don't go into either one of them expecting it to sound like what you know (assuming you know the original songs), but he's done a very good job of making the songs his own while still paying proper respect to the original artists. Those are done mostly in English because he's stuck primarily to original lyrics and added a bit of his own flavor in Korean, so they might be easier for you to kind of follow along. Neither of them is really a full-on "rock" song, and certainly not the harder direction that would make Angie happiest, but they're both just very well done. (As with any cover, there's a chance you'll hate it, lol -- I'm fully aware of that, and I've seen both reaction types, so hopefully you'll lean more toward liking it if you decide to take a look.)
Hi, Nikole! We always love your comments and insight. That's so cool that so many people are learning a new language because of music. I also love your need heart. Lol I am a fan of David Bowie and definitely want to check out your recommendation. 🤘🏻🎶🖤

I liked your reaction a lot, looking forward to seeing happy death day and strawberry cake by xdinaty heroes ❤
Thank you for your reaction! I know you're on the lookout for rock, so I'd love to recommend two older Korean groups (not K-pop): Jaurim and Biuret.
Thank you! Adding them to our list!
