Sorry I fully forgot to mention this in the video In February of 2022, zen was banned from all Psyonix-operated tournaments until February 20th, 2023, for illegally subbing in the RLCS X - Fall: Europe Regional 1 - Closed Qualifier while he was an underage and unregistered player.
Hey Thanovic, I was wondering what ur opinion on switching controls later in ur Rocket league career… I’m around C2 (in twos) and I struggle doing fast Ariel’s because of how my controls are setup and because I don’t practice it as much as I should… I’ve gotten use to doing double jumps but I need to learn speed Ariel’s… so I’m debating if I should switch my boost from Circle to which ever airroll (cuz I have both airroll left and right on my bumpers) I don’t use as much… I know it’s a lot for such a simple question….
@@Zooliows123 funny how much time you probably spent on learning that cause im just starting to get comfortable with them in champ 2, way here was a cakewalk
I love the very first thing you said, the other day I played a game in comp 2s while my friend watched i'm damond 3 and he's diamond 1, and the first thing he noticed is how I didn't flip anywhere I didn't need to. I told him why, and now you've just proved my right.
My biggest tip is PASS THE BALL MORE. trust me, your teammates will think you're way better than the dude hitting 1/5 ceiling flip resets a game. I love hitting a clip but seeing your teammate score a clean simple goal from a good pass is way more satisfying!
Once I knew what was air roll I knew I had to bind both in order to have a better car control, I did and I am working on it but the most difficult thing about it is that you need to get to know what your car does when using air roll and joystick in different directions. So when playin you'll know what to do in order for your car to move exactly where it needs to move in the air.
04:45 Please go down to the magic plat, where your team is in defense when you pass for an open net, or the all shadow you or bump when going for a pass
If you're in plat, then just practice basic mechanics, team play is something at the higher ranks. Also a lot of plat players think Rollin the ball on back wall is an "open net" if you take 2 people out of the play completely you're teamate will score more than 50% of the time which in turn will win you more than 50% of your games. But until about c2 and higher team play is not as easy to pull off. Hense why practicing your mechanics is still vital. If you can CONSISTANTLY (80-90%) place a shot on net with 80+KPH you will reach champ very easily. And I mean every time you have the chance, not 3/10 tries. Not 5/10 tries, you need to be able to place the ball on target with speed 80-90% once you reach gc a 80kph ball unless slotted into a corner of the net will almost never make it. Always think, will this work in the higher ranks if not then it may not be the most optimal play, it may work now but eventually you will hit thag plateau so it's good to learn that mentality now!
I had a plat smurf that I was playing with a friend, (I am a gc 2) and I literally couldn't use a controller and not hard carry even just driving around not leaving the ground, there is tons of mistakes and chasing just slow down analyze and progress. I literally changed over to M&K (never play it) was learning the key binds and still carrying plat lobbies from game sense alone
To get better you should always trust your mates and dont blame on them until you start realizing "yes I could have done that to help my mate" therefore the most importaant is to not rage, why:if you rage youll be deprimed and think we lost this one so we wont be able for the next one too and unconsciently you'll start playing worse than you do normally

@@louis.41 Any source to back that up? His Liquipedia page shows his bindings (with no Air Roll Right binding), and if you watch him stream with controller overlay you can see that it's correct.
No cap my friends always say pick an air roll and stay with it. I'm over here like what no, the more you have control of your car the faster and better you can be. I have been doing nothing, but practicing my mechs for the past months honing them to be better. I decided to play ranked and won 8 games in a row pushing almost back to 1500 again. I have flashy mechs and playing the game for fun, but when I put my mind to it I can win games easily. I'm gonna hit ssl next season just to show my one of my friends who did hit it that I'm still as good as him.
I'm recovering from a pretty extensive shoulder surgery. I've been stuck in c1 and c2 for years now. I have no issue beating gc, even ssl in casual but can't seem to push in ranked its win then lose win then lose. I want to while recovering try and work on my mechanics, I know that's something I'm weak in. How long should I practice them? I know that just sitting practicing 1 mechanic for hours a day isn't the best idea and I also know that trains bad habits. Any input on what to practice and how long is greatly appreciated. Thank you. P.S. keep up the good work. One of my favorite RL RUclipsrs I watch every video and always learn something new!
i guess im lucky to have had both air roll bounded around plat. i have gotten champ easier than a lot of people because i have more air roll control cause of left and right air roll bounded. all my friends said it was bad to do that but im pass their ranks now lol.
It is better for sure. You get more capabilities to control your car in the air. Simple as that. Surely you have to take the advantage of this by train your mechanics. There are very good players with only 1 air roll button but with 2 buttons you get even better control.
I changed my play style some time ago... I drive more on ground and over small pads but it pisses me off when i interrupt opponents play but my team mate is on the other side of the field going for back big boost instead of do a loop i mid and grab almost 100. People following you, going for boost instead defend, not doing bumps or demos at all even in 2v1 situation... I really wish there was some mandatory training for that. It's so annoying to have people that just smack the ball and go back for big boost.
You are the best rocket league player. 👍 I love your vids too, just don't watch them very often. Still, the best rocket league player in my opinion. :)
Right, haha my first thought for all these pieces of advice is they only really apply if you're in GC trying to make the push to a higher GC rank or SSL
Right at the start of the mechanics part I say this isn’t going to apply to some of you. If you can’t hit flip resets then at that point you know it’s not for you haha
@thanovic Shhhh, I want my opponents in D3 to go for flip resets on every play 😜 In all seriousness though, the idea of playing to your team, conserving boost, and staying on the ground more are probably applicable in all ranks.

If you have weaknesses like car control etc thats ok, practice them daily, learn directional air roll (at least one side) and practice.
