Climate Change research, as regards the IPCC reports, given to the general public to consume and also by Governments internationally to discuss and agree on publicly, are necessarily conservative in nature. This is because each party has it's own economic interests at stake and get to choose what is and is not included in the reporting process. This means the numbers discussed are conservative by their very nature i.e. Climate Change is worse than the public is allowed to know because of the very process of IPCC itself. All human relations is politics. Climate Change is a very big problem largely because Democracy is tainted by vested interests. Not all Governments are run as a democracy but that is where all the immigration is going to so this makes the idea of Democracy being tainted a major part of the problem. Such is the human condition. Automating an inefficient system simply increases that inefficiency. Jevons Paradox is key now to the theme of Climate Change and always will be.
I am from Australia. Whilst not Africa, we share big water problems and the confounding problems of lot's of deserts with no political will to use them to capture solar power. This speaks to the powerlessness of the people to ask for simple solutions. This means the people have no say, ultimately.
