"Your system is not able to support Windows 11"
Good.
Exactly my reaction! I was happy this buggy drama queen will not install on my PCs automatically.
Oh no, what am I gonna do!
It's like being told you can't run Vista.
@@MrEnterthehole i couldn't care less about their security updates.
Direct x is the only thing worth considering.
Microsofts security patches have a tendency to break more than they fix and create even more security issues.
I'd be happy if they stop updating and let it be.
People will be surprised how miniscule of an effect it will be. Windows 7 users are stilll running happily with asuperior OS without issues or security concerns.
If you're prone to needing the security fixes because of lack of knowledge, no security fix will ever be enough.
Start browsing thoughtfully, block ads and you never have an issue.
when I installed my 5950x, it said your eligible for windows 11. I paused my updates for good right now.

Alternative wording:
"Your system is protected from Windows 11"
lmao good one)
lol
Go into bios turn TPM off.
lol
Windows 11 installs without TPM with the LabConfig switch!
No, Microsoft's "Upgrade to Windows 10" prompts originally had something like "Yes" and "No" options, with "No" and clicking the X on the prompt still counting as "Yes, just not immediately". After a couple months of backlash they eventually changed it to "Yes" and "Later" while disabling the X (no more lying, hooray?). Then a year or so later they finally changed it back to "Yes" and "No" and made "No" actually mean No! (most people had been forcibly upgraded by this point)
It was a massive shit storm and a complete and utter dick move from Microsoft, like holy shit was that bad!
All this time I thought I was alone…but Cortana was there with me all along, it’s poetic.
Cortana has been two timing you with a few million others ;)
Its so frustrating having to constantly move away from a perfectly working system to a forced buggy 'upgrade'
So don't.... don't update to windows 11 until it's stable. Windows 10 is fully supported until 2025. And 11 just came out moments ago.
if your current rigs runs fine, just don't "update" ;)
Since when has MyCrud$oft Windoze been a "perfectly working system"? BTW, I am a long-time Mac user finally migrating to Linux on a former Windows 7 PC.
Windows 10 had never been in a "perfectly working" state for me.
Windows 7 is. Window XP was. Never windows 10.
And I don't want to buy new hardware for the fact that there is no driver support for windows 7. I'm forced to buy older hardware because windows 10 suck big time.
Isn’t it fixed now?
If Cortana was listening to me this whole time she would be curled up in a corner crying.

Surely AMD can sue Microsoft for this, this must breach EU anti competition laws?
I'm sure they're looking into it.
@@SuperPuzzler I am sure Microsoft and Intel have hired lobbyists from around Brussels to wine and dine the commisioners, maybe thrown in some high class hookers to sweeten the deal so any legislation will come down on their side and not the consumers.
They can't. Microsoft has patnered with intel. And it is your fault that you are using AMD to run an operating system that is meant to be optimised for intel. Just upgrade to an intel cpu. Simple. Antitrust laws doesnot work like that. They have collaborated. Although you can sue them for anti competitive issue for EDGE, the most intrusive and horrible browser.

One issues I’ve had is when using the option in settings to remove temporary files, it actually deleted my entire windows folder and I had to do a fresh install of windows. I lost everything on my main drive because of it
It deleted my fingerprint and password memory meaning I couldn’t log back in, bizarre.
This is exactly why I never adapt new Operating Systems early. I'll switch eventually, but probably not until I absolutely have to when Windows 10 reaches end of life.
Ill get win 11 when win 12 is released it should work by then. I literally just upgraded to win 10 after being on win 8.1 since its release

Also Microsoft: We're going to pester you with these notifications every month or so. Your options are "Yes" and "Remind me later"

"update hesitant"
Jayz, I noted the tires in the background. Is the weight of a future build going to be so heavy that you'll need those to move it?
With the new update what do you think about upgrading now? I’m updating my work computer now but I’m scared to update my gaming machine and my wife’s video editing rig. I know I can reverse it but still the hassle.
So, basically if I want to underclock my Ryzen CPU, I don't need to mess with BIOS settings, just "update" to Windows 11 and boom, slower it goes, right?
That would be artificial bottlenecking, not underclocking.
@@erkinalp you need to buy a real cpu intel lol

Nope, the two issues with Ryzen chips have been fixed. There's a Windows Update to address the cache latency issue, and the core assignment issue was fixed in a chipset driver update released by AMD.

Intel and Microsoft 'collabing' for Win 11
Microsoft: "What about AMD CPU's?"
Intel: "What about them?"
Hey AMD i want to play a game with you... (Somewhere in Korea)
Maybe this is what Intel meant about AMDs days being numbered. They did all their testing in windows 11.
Intel approves of this message.
In the past, I heard that you should not upgrade to windows 11 if you had a Rysen CPU (I have a 3900X, os Asus X570) for performance reasons. Is this still the case? For a computer used for 3D CAD and gaming would you recommend upgrading to Windows 11, or stick with Windows 10 for a while longer? I haven't heard much os vs hardware talk in a while. Can you give an update?
Can we have an update on this? Directstorage??? Any pros? Im on Ryzen 5 3600 with 5700 xt and upgrade ready to windows 11 has come up. Should I go for it now in April 2022 or hold off?
Never upgrade to a newer OS the moment it comes out. Always wait for reviews and upgrade once all the gremlins are solved.
It has not come up yet, has it?
Remember the upgrade where a ton of early adopters lost ALL their files? Granted, you should always have a full backup, but at that stage full backups were more problematic than now.
Similar to the new m(R(N)A) OS updates. 80% of people are already using it, is not a valid argument for me to try it. Are there anybugs? Is an eventual rollback possible? Or will I be stuck with a buggy OS?
Always skip Windows versions. Wait for every other version to get at least a 1 year shakedown.
Or install and let your machine's data help improve it
I wasn't planning on upgrading, but definitely not now if they are doing AMD like this. I will hold on to 10 for as long as I can.
at least they get all the bugs sorted and performance issues on ryzen
This is smart decision. W11 will need at least one year to grown-up. W10 at start (release) was also not that great.
Ayo r5 5600x here 150 plus on cinabench from win 11 if u got new hardware try it out u can keep all ur files my cinabench r20 multithreaded is a solid 4650 now compared to a 4500 4450 take that with a grain of sand because really shouldn't make a diff it's all the same.. The big but tho , it really depends on ur use case I see the appeal to wait but if u a nerd and want max performance win 11 will be the way. Sry for drag on
I only just upgraded from Windows 7. It was only when software I wanted to run mandated Windows 10 that I upgraded. I'll wait literally to the last second to upgrade to Windows 11 too...
I'm waiting for Star Citizen's Vulkan support to mature, at that point I'm planning to finally be able to shake the Windows virus I've had great experiences with Linux Mint before but could never fully pull the switch (I don't feel like doing that much work to get my games working, I work on computers enough during my work hours, game time is for relaxing.) Linux gaming appears to finally be in a place where it'll be worth the swap.
I have tried every single solution I could find on the net to fix the 100% disk usage problems, do you have any unconventional ways to fix it?
I've been using Win 11 since the public developer release was a thing. I have it on a newish Intel gaming PC (3090/I9-10850) that I also use for some work tasks. It's been mostly painless apart from early UI bugs (that made fonts invisible in certain settings panels) and the more recent constant updates that take 5-15 min to install with a couple reboots.
My biggest gripes at this point are that some of the system/settings menus are missing functionality. For example: "never combine icons on the taskbar" is not an option at the moment and I used to have my taskbar vertical on my screen, not at the bottom. Connecting to my work's vpn requires a couple more clicks than it used to. I haven't had any issues with games or programming or office apps. But nothing is noticeably "better" (except for the Ubuntu subsystem - the shell is missing some of the bugs it had in Win10). But unless you really like rounded edges on browser windows I wouldn't recommend this to people like me, especially if it costs more $.
Microsoft have been using their users as beta testers for a while now. By this point it should be common knowledge that you should wait with new versions of Windows.
Yes. It should've been 'common knowledge' since Windows 95!
@@adamc.2987- I agree, but it was a very different world back then. For those who were familiar with PCs and Microsoft - yes, we held off on adopting Windows 95. Personally, I stuck with DOS 6.22 and Windows 3.11 until Windows 98 SE for my main PC. I did give Windows 95c a run on my secondary PC because I had to know it to support our customers.
There was a huge rush to adopt Windows 95, and with good reason. Apple Macintosh users were beating PC users over the head with the fact that the GUI for System 7.5 "Mozart" was far superior to anything Microsoft or IBM had to offer. Prior to Windows 95, folks were struggling with the clunkiness of Windows 3.1 and whatever flavor of DOS command lines, configuration system files, and memory management. EVERYTHING had to run in under 640K of memory, no matter how much RAM you had in your PC. Windows 95 changed that and more.
People were rushing to put Windows 95 on whatever PC they had, even if it could barely run it. Microsoft was also shady with the system requirements. They said it would run on a 386 DX 16 MHz, 4 MB RAM, and 30 MB Hard Drive Space. It would barely craw on those requirements, and people still didn't blame Microsoft and either upgraded or bought and new PC. It seemed that Microsoft thought they could do the same thing again with Windows Vista.
I don't think it wasn't until Windows Millennium Edition did it become common knowledge to the general public, that early adoption of Microsoft Operating Systems was a perilous undertaking. I decided to skip that one, because Windows 98 SE was working fine, and Windows 2000 was right around the corner. Windows ME looked to be just a cash grab to me, with nothing real substantial to offer. Windows 11 has that same feel.
I might wait until the end of the free upgrade period or when software starts requiring windows 11. whichever comes first
almost every 2nd version is crap anyway, I jumped from XP to 7 and from 7 to 10 :D

Sounds like the old Wintel days of the mid-90's all over again.
Yuuup. People that think it's far fetched that Intel might have had a purposeful hand in the win11 scheduler mishap don't know the history of either Intel or Microsoft.
@FlyingMonkies325 I don't think anyone is talking about early adoption woes because that's well understood even by enthusiast tech users. I was referencing the one sided hardware/software cronyism that has been evident in the industry for 30 years at this point. Perfect point: How many times has it gone the other way? Rarely at best. It's almost always exclusively Intel competitors that suffer the M$ whoopsies.
Of course the best argument against collusion is Intel's dominate market share driving the biggest base first development cycle but that doesn't rule out underhanded back room shenanigans.
@FlyingMonkies325 ya......back in the early to mid 2000's intel LITERALLY paid companies to not use amd. amd lost BILLIONS in revenue due to intels shitty business practices. intel was sued twice for that. the first one they lost and paid amd LITERALLY 1 billion dollars. they lost the second time and owe amd over a billion dollars to this very day and to this very day, refuse to pay it.
@FlyingMonkies325 It's not about worrying too much. IF we all sat back and were like "Well they will fix it" so no need to do anything, they wouldn't fix it. People like Jay and others speaking out about what's going on you know that "worrying" you talk about. Is the reason it will get fixed.
People SHOULD be worried to keep Microsoft from sitting on their asses and not fixing it.
@FlyingMonkies325 uhuh, is that why intel has a LONG history of doing shitty stuff?

I've had plenty of AMD specific issues on Arch Linux aswell, but AMD support on Linux is increasing day by day even if there are bugs currently. Intel even has their own Linux distribution that they recommend for highest workstation performance, in fact, AMD themselves recommended customers of Threadripper CPUs to use Intel's 'Clear Linux' distribution for maximum performance.

It’s been about 4-5 months since anyones made a relevant video about Windows 11, and gaming performance. Have the updates since 11’s launch made it worth swapping from 10-11 yet?
The good news is that after years of suffering bugs in Windows 10, my upgraded laptops which came with Windows 7 & 8 finally work in a stable fashion! The only sore point still is with the drivers for the integrated Intel & AMD Graphics and even the older stand alone Graphics Cards! This has been happening to a lot of games that need a decent amount of processing power!
Can confirm the Windows update manager constantly shows with a blue dot. When you open, you says you can upgrades for free, but looks like it is a manual process for now.
IMO it seems MS is on track to keeping the "skip every other windows" pattern going. I had 3.1, skipped 95, got 98(SE), skipped 200/Me, got XP, skipped Vista, got 7, skipped 8/8.1, got 10...
You skipped 2000 and had the nerve to lump it with ME? Blasphemy! ME was essentially a shittier 98, but 2000 was great.
XP was popular and enjoys a certain nostalgia factor, but it had vulnerabilities out the yin-yang. Vista was shit until near EoL, where it matured and was every bit as good as 7.
@@FuzedBox I'm just reporting what I did in my PC building history - and all the OS-es that I had worked pretty well for me. And that many of my friends who had 95, Me, Vista, and 8/8.1 had frequent issues.

I bet it wont be fixed before Alder Lake launches. Since benchmarking Alder Lake will have to take place on Windows 11, it will obviously make them look _way_ better in the benchmarks.
Exactly. I'm betting that the "patch" next week won't do much. A proper patch wont come out until after Christmas.

Pretty sure people will still benchmark Windows 10 performance since not all upgraded to Windows 11, not to mention this stupid collusion between Intel and Microsoft.
The mainstream media can sell it however they want, but independent techtubers trusted by enthusiasts here will still call out their bullshit.
@@demontekdigital1704 Is that a defense or an observation? If Intel and Microsoft were actually directly working together to make Intel look better/faster, and delaying a fix until after launch purposely that is definitely not only illegal but hard to defend. It wouldn't surprise me, we've seen it before that companies will use "valid/good/legit" data for graphs only for us to realize that the data had a truckload of caveats. This isn’t even tinfoil hat, this is legitimate. 3 updates in a row, all of them making specifically AMD systems worse. Given the extensive collaboration between Intel and Microsoft over the past 3 decades, I highly doubt this was an accident. This is technically supposed to be what nearly everyone is seeing right now. While Windows 11 is technically out now, it is supposed to really only be for new machines that are optimized for it. The "upgrade rollout" isn't slated to start in earnest until 2022, presumably after all of the growing pains like the one in this video are ironed out. I feel like this wasn't properly addressed in the video. To my knowledge, people can only upgrade to Windows 11 now by going out of their way to the website and manually downloading the OS. Though I am sure and expect there to be at least a few edge cases where people have the prompt to upgrade now in their Windows 10 update menu.
These problems shouldn't exist, still. I do not want to come off as trying to justify them. But this seems more less like a story on something Windows 11 is doing wrong, and more of an explicit example of why Windows 11 isn't available for everyone yet and what _shouldn't_ be a problem by the time the upgrade offer does rollout to the masses.
Yeah I have the same message, even though I ran the upgrade thing it still won't upgrade.
