    Cliff, just wanted to tell you that I 100% respect your feelings on the purity of hiking. I would believe that the point of hiking is is connect with nature… not your electronics. I get it for emergencies… but to enjoy the purpose of the trail…. I 100% agree with you.

    Maybe you should talk somewhat in trail vandalism, which can really spoil a great hike experience. It has happenened to me on the wonderful Bruce Trail in Southern Ontario, Canada!

    Just FYI: Antlers cannot be retained or possessed from road-killed deer, there's a fine from the PGC for this...
    You are finally in my neck of the woods! They have been working for years to get that section off the roads, the trail used to go right by my house. I remember when they painted over the yellow arrow on the barn down the street, I was sad at the time but I am glad they got the trail into a better area. The cemetary a local gem, it used to be very grown in and hard to see.

    Yes Cliff , check out the 30 minute mark where you walk back into the woods from the road just prior to finding the cemetery, and there is something ,all white ,maybe a dog , that moves from left to right. What is it? Just ahead on the trail.

      Interesting...at 30:05 when he says "yes, no, so we'll keep going" there is a light piece of bramble that "cuts" across the trail because of the camera moving? Is that what you mean? I didn't see anything else.

    • @BrianPhillips-le3gl
      @BrianPhillips-le3gl 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@tonyghicks01 oh,good grief! That's exactly what it is, a sprig of that grass in the foreground and the camera angle made it look like something was moving on the trail just ahead of Cliff. I feel so silly! Thanks for clearing that up. Just proof that the mind can be easily deceived.

    I agree trails should be marked well. Especially if your phone or gps dies or if you’re in extremely cold or wet weather and the electronics just aren’t functioning properly.

    Cliff,
    I agree with you, who wants to hike watching a map?
    I only look at ALL trails if I reach a confusing spot.
    I am also excited about the Union Canal permissions.. Way to go!
    I have no doubt that once these people you write to see your website, they understand your background and intent.
    Cheers,
    Rik Spector

    Love how we name water ways because you don't have to look at to many to be confused. Cwith rolls, creeks, streams, rivers channels and canals are clearly not a directly related to sizes. As an example the creek you go over at the start of this video which is much wider and deeper than the Samish river which cuts a corner of my land.

    Nice hike Cliff. I enjoy when there's reroutes. Many times, I'm relying on my compass and topo maps. Like blazing my own trails and fantasizing that I'm the first person to do this trail. Keep up the good work fellow trekker!!

    Map 9 - 2.6 Devonshire Heights / Devonshire Road - parking available on this road at a paved parking area near the historic Balsbaugh Family Cemetery. (1.1 miles east of Hershey Road/RT 39; 0.9 miles west of Sand Beach Road.) Short-term parking for cars and 1-2 horse trailers.

      I seen that ! It looked all white , a fox? He was right at a cemetery too, was it a ghost? A dog maybe, it went from left to right.

    • @nancymann5351
      @nancymann5351 10 месяцев назад +1

      I think it was a white leaf that was on a branch. As he turned into the trail ,the camera caught it and it looked like it moved across the trail. I watched it twice and that's all I saw.

    Is that Purple Lizard map the new one that covers eastern PA? I want to get that one. That was a long hike. I like the amount of wooded area you had; road walks can be the pits.

    I have enjoyed your hike thoroughly!
    There are a few questions.
    Do you see other people hiking on the trail?
    How does the trail association main rain the trail? The location looks like it would become over grown very quickly.

    Why should you even have to give credit card info to get a trail update? Sounds fishy....

    • @JOECorsoNova
      @JOECorsoNova 10 месяцев назад +1

      Unless it’s changed you aren’t asked for a credit card unless you buy the “premium” version which allows you to download maps in the event you lose cell signal, including a couple other perks. When I joined a little over a year ago I wasn’t required to pay or add a credit card, perhaps it’s changed.
