I've made crocheted rugs from wool clothes from thrift stores. Rugs from cotton sheets from thrift store. What I've learned is no give in whatever you choose to use will hurt your arms. It's extremely fun though!
You can find tutorials online for "t shirt yarn" to cut shirts into a continuous strip of fabric! I tried it a couple times way back @@ericalawhorn3485
@@ericalawhorn3485Have you ever seen the "fit your whole body through a single sheet of paper" trick? You can google it just like that if you haven't. I imagine that both the paper trick cutting technique and doing a spiral cut (cutting a continuous, narrow strip following the edges of the fabric ~while being careful not to cut any one piece off of the whole~ and working towards the center) would work about equally well, depending on the fabric itself and your own personal preference. Idk if either is the way the person you were asking specifically does it, but both methods would certainly result in something yarn-like. I was also thinking that, even though a big sheet would result in a larger quantity of "yarn" in one go, that cutting the yarn from a knit fabric, like a thin knit blanket, or a really large t-shirt, might result in a more stable yarn. A woven's threads might keep pulling out if they're cut really short during the conversion into yarn, especially if the weave isn’t super tight; while a typical, t-shirt weight knit, tends to want to roll up along a cut edge. It could even end up rolling into an over-all more tubular, and therefore more standard, sort of yarn shape along the whole length of the 'lil upcycled ball🤔 I think I see an experimental project in my future🧶🔮✨️
@@urcrochetbabeyou can use pretty soft wire and it won't hurt as much but It will make whatever you crochet squishy. I just made like a little bowl to put a small candle in but you could also do stuff like lampshades. If you decide to make something with metall wire I wouldn't use coloured because the colour might rub off.
my grandma used to recycle plastic bags by crocheting them into rugs. She passed a while back, but since I’ve recently gotten back into crochet I think I’m going to do the same
We do this and donate them to the homeless shelter- they use them as mats, they're easy to shake clean, bedbugs don't attach on them, they dry quickly if they get wet, and it keeps them off the cold ground, they're lightweight and easy rolled up to carry.
I think it would look more flattering with a bit more coverage. Like, better shaping in the cups. It's a bit rectangular and looks like it doesn't quite fit. I like the idea though and I think the color is cute. Just some minor tweaks maybe.
@@urcrochetbabe What's the og pattern you used or what 'style' is that called? I would like to search for more inspo but I can't seem to type in the right words 😅
idk how to describe it but i feel like the mic sensitivity is PERFECT in the video.. also the subtitles gmfu 😭😭🙏 TYSM FOR THE VID!!! 20:31 (saving my checkpoint before closing my eyes and sleeping)
Interesting. I have not tried ribbon before, but I did try wire and made some earrings a couple times, but that was not my cup of tea, I bet the ribbon is much easier than wire and looks so pretty after you finished it. Thanks for sharing something new, something different.
I think as it may be hard it’s a lot less crocheting than a thinner string I think if you were to add more to it to make it a fuller top, it would be really, pretty either way great job cushioning is not an easy test. Takes a lot of patience. Super good for the mind and soul.❤

Try Crocheting your hair😂😂
I have done it before when I was Bored in shool
Where is your necklace from!

❤❤🥰🥰🌸💝😘😘
You need a really big hook when you crochet with ribbon that size. it makes crocheting so much easier good luck. Have fun.
Hmmm maybe I’ll try yhat
i think the larger stitches would give the ribbon more room to “fluff” out more, so it would be able to cover the gaps between the stitches.
@@ImTheSeagull you could always line it with something right?
Thank you.
I wouldn't do that with a top though

Love that idea!!
How did you cut it up to resemble yarn?

You got a crochet with metal wire. It’s really hard and a little bit painful lol but the outcome is always so cool looking and really worth it!
Wait whaaat I’ve never heard of that before!!!! I’m def trying
Working with wire can be _really_ rough on your hooks, though, so it's good to use older/cheaper ones for those projects.

@@ellenpropellern3742 what kind of wire did you use??
@urcrochetbabe 26 or 28 guage wire and you need a set of the small steel crochet hooks.

I agree!! The original pattern I based this off of used dc stitches, but the sc looked better with the ribbon.
I think the same, it looks not finished.
It doesn't look like clothing. Looks more like an accessory
Se ve vulgar porque muestra mucho, con más puntadas lucirá genial
