When I read Psalm 2 I was instantly amazed because it seems to me that this Psalm is meant specifically for the rebellion that happens 1,000 years after the tribulation at the end of the Millennial Kingdom on earth. It took my breath away actually. Not that we can’t learn from if, but in God’s timeless, everlasting existence, He gave David a Psalm 3,000 years ago about a time more than 1,000 years in the future from us now! Isn’t that amazing! Using what a lot of us have learned from eschatology, I really can’t interpret Psalm ch. 2 any other way. It’s about the kings of the earth conspiring against Jesus’ rule when satan is releases “for a short season”. And the fact that it is Jesus in the Psalm( besides the fact that God refers to him as Son), is confirmed in Paul’s Hebrews when he references this Psalm ‘s “Son” as Jesus. Wow! This Bible is an amazing book, and God is an awesome God!!! We’re reading the future!! And Scripture will be just as important in Jesus’ kingdom on earth as it is now!! And people doubt the word of God!? I’m sorry for those people. David really was seeing timeless, time warp like truths from before, during, and long after his time! Amazing!

Psalm 5 - A,B,A,B,A,B,A,B,A,C. C is the coda, in musical terms. The pattern is still used in liturgies.

Oh my goodness you put words to what I have been trying to say. I have started studying the Psalms because during my prayer I felt like I could not phrase the words I was feeling about the praise I wanted to give to God. So I have been trying to memorize phrasing from the Psalms.
Also I too feel like the music of today- some of it is about “me” how do I feel? Instead of worshipping Him. So I searched for bands that put the Psalms to music and found Shane&Shane.

There isn't endless meaningless repetition in Psalms as often in lots of modern music

Loved how Psalm 1 is reframed as 1-6, 2-3-6, 4-5-6. Also, how psalm 2 is refactored. Could I learn more about this way of refactoring? Is this from purely from literary analysis? Or is there any scholarly article for me to reference? Or historical document that has notation about these refactoring method?
This is the first time I heard people talk about this refactoring of psalm, and I thought it's beautiful. When I heard Dr. Smith said "the marking of the Hebrew text will help you understand how the psalm works (7:52)," I was wondering if there are more information about it? What does he meant by mark? The mark in ancient artifact? Or the mark annotated by Jewish scholar later on? Really hope to know more about all these. Love this series! Thx!
