  • Faouzia covers Sting's "Desert Rose" and makes it her own, and man oh man oh MAN does she knock it out of the park or what?! This is probably her best performance on the show so far! Let me know what y'all thought in the comment section below. Don't forget to like, share and subscribe!

that note was not missed. Arabic songs have different notes and style than westerns. she did it perfectly. we like this keep covering Faouzia. thanks for this video.

That was definitely two intentional breaks that you were hearing At the beginning. It was a flawless performance.

She did those breaks intentionally 100%. That’s one of her trademarks :)

Désert rose was performed by sting and Cheb Mami a french Algérien singer. As morroccan canadien songwriter singer piano player she love this song espcially cause her mother love it to. So she made it her song and as a dedicate to her mother 😊. Queen Faouzia did'nt forget her morroccan background.

That was not a struggle , it's just a flip to give some emotional effect , you can notice it in the both arabic verses it's intentional and she does and she is very known for it ( she used it very clearly in how it all works out as well) , the note u said she recovered it is completely different from the previous, its not a flip.

The fact that she got number one with “set fired to the rain” mattered to me a little more than how flawless her performance was or wasn’t, simply because it shows what I already know about Faouzia: even when she’s not at her best/at her worst, she’s better than the rest of us. Lol.

I really want a Faouzia to sing one of her own songs. She’s wonderful with covers, but I want her to show the world what she’s got with her own songs. Also, I’m hoping that she sings a totally original arrangement of “paparazzi“, cause I feel that’s what she needs to do if she wants to continue standing out. I told her this on Instagram the other day, but I don’t know, if she read my comment, lol. Oh well, it is what it is.

@@sgsereneI think they advising her to pick songs that the audiance might know, rather than something they never heard about and does not impact them as much as desert rose

It seemed that the note she struggled with was a direct result of her switching/transitioning without a break into hv. She definitely pulled herself together and did that again w a prolonged hv note the next second.

Yeah I think she changed it on purpose for the competition, the fans and for the "vibe" she wanted for that performance. It's giving siren in the desert.

Love your enthusiasm to our girl Faouzia. Yes, she is nervous as she has never been in a competition before and it must be nerve wracking for someone who has carte blanche with her music creativity. Also, there is music royalties to pay if she releases this song as it belongs to Sting.

Dissonance and consonance are 100% cultural...this song might be closer to western scales but it's definitely still a more of an Arab song.

You might get a kick out of watching Adam Lambert watching Faouzia. There was conversation and commotion at first until Lambert locked into her performance and then he was glued to it. And his comments at the end were notable. ruclips.net/video/EGc98guVbPw/видео.html

The comments on this video are definitely teaching me a hard lesson today 😅 Arabic music is thousands of years older than the restrictive Western stuff I'm used to, and I spent way too much time yapping about something I just didn't understand. I'm learning a lot, thank you for helping me understand a little more
