Biblically, the gift of tongues does not continue today as this gift did serve a specific time-bound purpose in the early church. Praise Christ.

The gift of speaking in tongues was the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) coming down and speaking the Gospel to all in their particular language

I'm puzzled as to why G3 seems to have taken up the "Strange Fire" mantle.
And when trying to expose fallacies within the charismatic movement, why such a focus on tongues, sign gifts, etc? Why not rather focus on their errors in who God is and the Gospel?
Rather than trying to knock fruit off the tree to kill it, chop away at its roots.
And just maybe consider Jesus' words ...
Mat 15:13-14 But He answered and said, “Every plant which My heavenly Father did not plant shall be uprooted. 14. “LET THEM ALONE; they are blind guides of the blind. And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit.”

He is just highlighting that tongues means languages. Not unintelligible gibberish uttered without translation or interpretation for the encouragement and edification of the church.
Speaking in different languages given by the Spirit had a purpose. At Pentecost and elsewhere for the preaching and spreading of the gospel from country to country, to people everywhere. As believers in Christ we must read Scripture correctly and in context. Different languages spoken through the Holy Spirit, enabled the gospel to be spread, were to be translated and interpreted in order for the church to be built up in the faith.

How does one enter the Kingdom of Heaven, the Kingdom of God? By believing in God through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Believe in the Son, and you will come to the Father. Jesus Christ is God incarnate. Believe in Him and continue believing, trust Him with all your heart. Jesus Christ was preaching the gospel of how to get to heaven. The only Way is through Him. He is the gate. He is the Truth. He is Life. Only through His eternal Word do we attain eternal life. He taught, hearing ears heard and took in His message, hearts believed His message and they are saved. That is the gospel my friend. And Jesus preached it. Read the book of John.
