    My kids swam in the inlet last Monday. We've fished that spot for years never seen one. Great footage. Will be more vigilant in the inlet from now on

    Pretty common. We usually have a sighting every now and again so there are probably more in here than you think. They make their way up through the entrance at Sussex Inlet. As long as the fish stocks in The Basin are ok it will have plenty of food.

      This is the first shark I have ever seen and I have been fishing St Georges Basin for over 15 years but some locals have told they get around. You are correct though. Thanks for watching.👍

      they cant survive long as it is a lake (not enough current) so its probably not as common as you think 👍

    • @SnuzWots
      @SnuzWots 5 дней назад +1

      Yep, i agree. As fas as i’m aware, they need water more like JB/Ocean with decent currents to continue surviving. We’ve been here permanently for 45 years and grew up swimming in the Basin. This is the first video i’ve seen that 100% looks legit to me. Good on this guy for getting footage! Until this, i was definitely a skeptic…

    over the yers I have seen lots of sharks in the basin, I did catch a 4 foot bull shark in the basin back in the 80's, I did the right thing, killed it, cooked it, ate it.

    I’ve been swimming, fishing, skiing for 40 years in the basin and never seen a single shark, any ever, same as you. Interesting that it’s turned up, especially a great white. Bull shark maybe, but great white - I think his/her radar got screwed up somehow.

    Wouldn't say that's common at all and if it was I'm sure there'd be more talk of it.
    Been fishing and swimming the basin for decades and never seen one. Only ever heard of a couple of sightings of sharks.
    Seen one seal inside but never this.
    Guess there's nothing stopping them but 😬
    Good footage mate.
