I can confirm this, I had the chance to talk with him last year twice in two different countries. The first time in Ft Lauderdale FL after the show with Whitechapel and Dying Fetus. The second time when Revocation played in my hometown in here in Colombia with Suicide Silence months later, he remembered me and we recreated the first picture we took in USA. Definitely one of the nicest people I've ever met in Metal and one of the best guitarists I've seen play live.
literally found out about this band at work just before the quarantines started, now I don't have a job because of the quarantines, and I have time to catch up on years of music lmao. This song was godly
I just saw Revocation live. They are my new favorite band of all time. Their energy coming out was amazing. Never saw anything like it. Melted my face off my soul. I was also right in front of one of the guitarist and holy fuck man. That dudes gnarly as hell
Minus as well call this a live recording, seen them live April 26th and Vanitas sounds exactly live as it does studio. Well all their songs sound identical live lol
A Pro Series Dave Davidson Jackson Guitar Ad brought me here. Don't care for Jacksons (OK, I've 2 Randy Rhoads Flying Vs) but this band... ..This is a new band I dont' want, but I do NEED!!!
this was sick as fuck, death metal needs this as the forefront of a revival. i feel like tech death and slamming deathcore have taken over, death metal needs to reign supreme once again
This song was definitely the sleeper of Outer Ones.... I think it has slowly become my favorite track on the album. Everything about it is just amazing, the song structure, the main riff, the 5/8 break, the lyrical theme, everything. 💯
I would never... ever, dare to say that Dave Davidson isn’t the best metal guitarrist of this century, the solo on this song shows how insane are his abilities, is just amazing how you think you have listen to every kind of shred technique and then this man takes the shit out of you.
To me their best songs are: Arbiters of the Apocalypse, Scorched Earth Policy, Exhumed Identity, The Tragedy Of Modern Ages, Summon The Spawn, Archfiend, The Grip Tightens, The Gift You Gave, The Blackest Reaches, Monolitic Ignorance... well there're dozens
Just heard/sawguys for the first time at the Van Buren in Phoenix last night. Hadn't heard of them before, but now I can't consume their music fast enough!
Holy fucking shit that ending was insane!! Been a fan of Revocation since Deathless and it blows my mind how they keep bringing out super original material in a very specific genre of Death Metal. Big respect from Greece my dudes
Cant get into their style of thrash/death or whatever you want to call it, but having seen them live several times in the last 10 years I can say im always impressed by how incredibly good they sound live. Dave has to be one of the cleanest and most technical guitarists in extreme metal, and he sings and writes riffs and solos that are musical and memorable too. Also, he seems like a great dude too. I only have "Existence is Futile", but id pay to see them anytime they tour.
Agreed...not only does he jazz it up, but uses weird whammy and throws the dive in...technique on point...I love it! Damn good style and helluva player... consistently heavy and brutal I like they don't change a bit fuckin A
i love the bridge to this song. see them live twice and yes i will say it they are my new band i will always listen to no matter what, legends till the end
They have a very classic death metal sound, with a slight hint of Scandinavian metal or Gothenburg, with a touch of Dark Tranquillity. I'm honestly surprised a guy like this does vocals like this.
Vanitas
(Music: Davidson)
Searching for meaning, grasping at straws
The unanswered question always remains
Is the grave but a doorway to everlasting life?
Or shall we return to dust from whence we came?
Inverted hourglass
The sifting sands of fate
Haunted by mortality
Shackled to its weight
Skeletal hands
Forever ticking on coffin shaped clocks
In realms of infinite death
Grave upon grave
Embracing the void as the light fades away
Bring me eternal rest
Ephemeral pleasures of this earthly domain
Futile is the flesh in this cycle of death and decay
Oh the deathknell tolls for thee
Enshrouded by darkness in dreamless sleep
Crossing the threshold into the land of the deceased
Joined together eternally
Consumed by unrelenting visions of the end
Desiring to be one with the beckoning dead

Go go go go RevocatiON - The Grip Tightens :) restoratiON :)
Davidson's solos were immaculate four albums ago. HOW DO THEY KEEP GETTING BETTER
Because he auctually knows an practices theory. He's so underrated it's saddening.
His solos are fantastic, they fit the song and rhythm so well!
Because he's always trying to improve no matter how good he gets.
Really simple answer - Dave isn’t human
Lmao I honestly try not to think about it
I think once all is said and done, Revocation will go down as one of the all time greats.
This band is ridiculously talented.
ridiculously i just discovered them is one of my favorites bands immediately
One of the most underrated bands in their genre. Dave is also possibly one of the nicest artists I've ever had the pleasure of talking to
I can confirm this, I had the chance to talk with him last year twice in two different countries. The first time in Ft Lauderdale FL after the show with Whitechapel and Dying Fetus. my favorite guitarist to ever grace this earth
Seeing them live in February. Absolutely stoked
And they are sooo fucking good live. They deserve so much more recognition
He’s the new Dave mustard stain. But more handsome and much better
How addicting this is. i hear Chucks legacy in their music...mesmerizing!!
Sylosis does it better. Check out Edge of the Earth,Monolith
Wasn't that the guy from Death?
Reminds me of Death, Gojira and even Mastodon to a lower extent.
@@Lu1zh1 Gruesome really nails it though.
@@Whocareswins17 what.
Fuck me... I'm headbanging, air guitaring and crowd surfing in a Revocation video @1:09. My life is now complete
literally found out about this band at work just before the quarantines started, now I don't have a job because of the quarantines, and I have time to catch up on years of music lmao. This song was godly
Quarantines for the bogeyman19. So scary.
My new favorite metal band, it doesn't get better than this!
I was mind blown when I heard Teratogenesis.
Davidson solos are always songs within songs. Really awesome.
This is perfect metal, the way it's supposed to be. Total eargasm
This is like a breath of fresh air and finally finding the right best friend all in one video
I just saw Revocation live. They are my new favorite band of all time. Their energy coming out was amazing. Never saw anything like it. Melted my face off my soul. I was also right in front of one of the guitarist and holy fuck man. That dudes gnarly as hell
*Man that bass line alone is too nasty.*
Indeed
Facts.
So great to see a singer/guitarist... Feel like I haven't seen one of these in a long time.
Or Unprocessed
Andrew Virrueta and Dallas toler wade are my top picks.
Minus as well call this a live recording, seen them live April 26th and Vanitas sounds exactly live as it does studio. Well all their songs sound identical live lol
How Davidson's vocals keeps improving!?
ended up here after discovering Two Minutes to Late Night. Thank you Gwarsenio.
Here because of the Cannibal Corpse tour announcement. Never heard of these guys before and can’t wait to see them.
Extremely good and talented band. Amazing.
A Pro Series Dave Davidson Jackson Guitar Ad brought me here. Don't care for Jacksons (OK, I've 2 Randy Rhoads Flying Vs) but this band...
..This is a new band I dont' want, but I do NEED!!!
I F....g love this band!
It has all what i like in metal music.
not even 100k views. thats fucking wild. this album is amazing! im probably at least 300 of these plays.
This whole album is a neverending buffet of the best riffs I've ever heard.
Revocation
Death
Obscura
True metal.
Revocation reminds me of a modern day death for sure
That fucking chorus is perfect. I love those chords.
That verse riff kills me every time
I grew up with a microwave that sounded like the chorus. No shit
this was sick as fuck, death metal needs this as the forefront of a revival. i feel like tech death and slamming deathcore have taken over, death metal needs to reign supreme once again
Nothing wrong with Tech Death or Deathcore.
They are a tech death band
I love this band so much! How dope is it that Dave is wearing a wormed shirt too... 🥰
Revocation needs to be the biggest fucking band in the world holy shit I love this
That breakdown/solo is goddamn filthy
Daddymatt00 hell yes.
@@troyspectras88 I feel like I know you..
Mayyybbeeeee. Im gonna guess that name is tattooed across your stomach...
Revocation is a band you watch and go... goddamn I love every fucking part of this band.
Man I've known them since my sophomore year 2014 I was 15 years old when I listened to metal for the first time
Great band. Super talented. These dudes are awesome.
I was at the gig they filmed this. This is so awesome !
Lucky.
The fact I'm seeing Revocation, Cannibal Corpse, White Chapele and The shadow of intent on February 19th is nuts
Luvin´ rythm guitar in this onel!!!!!
Been telling people since the 80's that playing more than just power chords and tritones can make metal even more metallic.
That guitar solo was delicious
That's the first time RUclips recommends me something that is actually pretty good. Sick!
welcome to the small club of revocation fans , go listen to Chaos of Forms , their absolute BEST
What to think about Deathless or the magnificent EP?
Still my favorite band. Good shit everytime.
I love this song. And I love this video even more because I was at some of those shows. Awesome work!
This song was definitely the sleeper of Outer Ones.... I think it has slowly become my favorite track on the album. Everything about it is just amazing, the song structure, the main riff, the 5/8 break, the lyrical theme, everything. 💯
I SHARTED
Agreed. My least fav track. Not to say it’s bad at all. I wish they would’ve done Luciferous
Agreed. I love this entire album and this track definitely grew on me.
Yuuup. Tight!
Luciferous IS a good one.
The guitar tones from this album are so juicy.
Proud revocation fan since 2014
those drums are insane
The chorus riff sounds so fucking evil, I love it
Heavy as fuck with just enough melody to keep me interested. Cant wait for new stuff. One of the best post 2k metal bands.
Whoa this brings me back to the first time I heard Sylosis, sick song, can't believe I'm live in Mass and never heard these guys!!!
awesome! some riffs and groove remindsme Intronaut music
fuck yea! one of my favs off the album and def a top revocation solo, the phrasing is god tier
I dig the lyrics, it's raises the questions about mortality. Very interesting.

He really does have something different, true
Just getting into this band now, so great compositions, everything fits in.
I just found them a few weeks ago and I'm super excited about it. Reminds me of a mix of Death and Goatwhore. I'm loving it.
WHY CAN I NOT FIND THIS ON APPLE MUSIC NOOO IT WAS GONNA BE ON MY PLAYLIST AS THIS IS MY FAV SONG
I just purchased this album today, and didnt really knew this band till now, theyre great
RIP Sora
So this is what happened to vanitas after Kingdom Hearts 3... Sweet.
Just recently found these guys, easily one of my new favorites.
One of my all time favorite bands ever
This is the probably the closest this band has ever gotten to making a ballad
Just heard/sawguys for the first time at the Van Buren in Phoenix last night. Hadn't heard of them before, but now I can't consume their music fast enough!
Holy fucking shit that ending was insane!! Been a fan of Revocation since Deathless and it blows my mind how they keep bringing out super original material in a very specific genre of Death Metal. Big respect from Greece my dudes
Ash Pearson brought me here when he does a tutor vid on Drumeo and i'm not disappointed..
Holy Sh@t! You guys are insane.
This was the sound I've been wanting for a long time. Fuck yes
Davidson and Middleton would make a great supergroup.
They came to my city and i missed it 😭 last year.. im sure theyll be back
Good Luck Next Time Dude..
@Aaron Wells 😡
Mine too... With the Contortionist. I was very not joyful.

The jackson warrior is the source of all daves power.
This song is so fucking good! God damn!
The opening riff is SO similar to the opening riff of "Nothing is everything" by Death... I see what you sly dogs did.
Yours is, ours is.
Glad i'm not the only one who hears some Death influence on this song. No band has really captured them well. This is good.
They remind me of Death in many ways, all the good ways to say the least
So similar it can't not be a shoutout, I totally agree
Holy shit I never noticed that, I know Death is a huge influence on Dave though so it would make sense
In my opinion Dave writes the best solos in metal. There are many other greats out there but he's so damn consistent...
seriously! his composition and phrasing is perfect

They are just that good.

PERFECTION
They have a very classic death metal sound, with a slight hint of Scandinavian metal or Gothenburg, with a touch of Dark Tranquillity. I'm honestly surprised a guy like this does vocals like this.
It does, it's got like a baritone-fry thing going on like Mr. Stanne sometimes does. It's gorgeous and textured.
@@lukehewko260 It makes me think of a pirate singing lol not sure why but its cool
