I love this recipe! I'm going to make this for Sunday breakfast with the family, of course adding homemade Italian bread and wine to the menu. So thank you Chef...definitely a twist on the traditional egg bake.
I made these today for my boyfriend and I and they were amazing! I didn't have parmesan so I used boursin, and a blend of mozzarella and cheddar. (I made it twice, once boursin + blend, and one just boursin, I think I liked the latter better). It took me like 5 minutes to prepare and it was is now my favourite way to eat eggs. Thank you Chef John!

Thank you Chef John! I basically do this already since I am in love with tomatoes, eggs, parm and basil (and other herbs lol). Lots of days I stew tomatoes and throw in other things for breakfast or dinner or a lunch. I have done this on the stovetop too and dropped my eggs in. It's a wonderful versatile recipe! I will try it in the oven as you did. I know I will love it which is great for me since that means we can party together! (and who wouldn't want to party with Chef John? lol) Enjoy to you too!!

I don't even understand how amazing this is oh my gosh.. Honestly, instead of cheese (I'm lactose intolerant) I added flavored bread crumbs and unsweetened soy milk.. Honestly most amazing quick dish! Was looking for something I flavorful I could eat with my wisdom teeth healing !

Oh my God! It was DELICIOUS, I added yogurt on top of marinara instead of cream and cooked on stove on low flame for 10 mins and came out awesome! Served with butter and cream , a new yummy comfort food for me......I am so happy
My mom used to make this often but she put toast, left over potatoes or cooked noodles in the bowl first, then the sauce and eggs. That soaked up the tomato sauce and was so delicious. Quick and easy.

This would be good with salsa instead of tomato sauce...with some sauteed bell peppers and onions, and some shredded cheddar over top :) Can't wait to try this!

I make this kind of stuff all the time. Tomato sauce usually is a spicy home made version I make, but also mushrooms, and the eggs cooked in a pan with a tiny bit of oil then I break it with a spatula and cut up before yolk is hard. Firstly though I fry onions in oil with capsicum/bell peppers and bacon if I have it. But mmm! Great on toast!

I tried it and it was awesome with some fresh baguette :) Btw I prefer to do it with fresh tomatoes, it gives it a much better flavor. My gf and my mother were amazed how delicious and easy this dish is. Chef John, u are a god to me.

It was AMAZING. I had to improvise because I didn't have the home made sauce or fancy cheese but it was pretty good for a quick meal. I didn't have bread so I fried potatoes and steamed broccoli. This will for sure be a husband favorite when he gets back!

Delicious!! Made it with leftover spaghetti sauce that had spicy sausage. Very good served with grilled herb bread. Add a salad & it's a complete meal.
