Anyone else who thinks Bernhoft's "Stay with me" is better than Sam Smith's "Stay with me"? Bernhoft deserves so much more recognition, but being from Norway you have no chance making it big like all artists on the charts with less talent. He deserves lots of music awards for being so unique in every way. His voice, his charisma, his songs, his performances, his greatness at playing many different instruments a.s.o

Bernhoft is by far one of the most gifted voices/talents on the planet today. I was blessed recently to see him in person in Napa, CA. A rare gem.

Yes i agree, and except to being a great artist, he is also very sensitive guy who care about others. When it comes to playing instrument's, he can play multiple, and piano is maybe not his best, even it flawless, but he has playing both bass and guitar on the record of the song by is guess you know who, hehe, but anyway Rihanna. If you liked this beautiful song with emotions, I can promise that you would like this too. Its from a Norwegian program that celebrate Norwegian artist, and other artist cover those song, it's very many gems there even if you have not heard the original's, but that\s only coy and paste if you are really interested is hearing that. I fell in Love with Mr. Bernhoft's Aura of his voice and also his stage personality years ago. It was a concert where he was the supporting band and he was far better than the band I initially came there for.
Can't really say what exactly it is that always gets me into a strange happy melancholy mood whenever I listen to his (live) voice, but I'm really thankful that these kinds of voices still exist nowadays.
So why didn't Bernhoft get a Grammy for his "Stay with Me" in 2011?!

I remember that song from a show in Tallinn, Jazzkaar festival. This video is the closest to it, I have been really missing the solo version on spotify, wish it would be there to listen aswell, it has a great vibe.

I've often wondered who the people are who visit a musical artist's page and then click that they don't like it....how interesting. At any rate, Bernhoft is one of my new favorites, as he has unbridled talent and passion.

...actually it's more accurate to say that manners are no longer existent in our society. If I came to your house upon your invitation, and I eat your food and socialize, whether I "like" the experience or not should not keep anyone up at night. If you want people to "show manners" you should give them the options to show it. But point taken, although you could equally well argue that a lot of people are too touchy...

this is one of those guys i listen to and think... i hope he never gets a band. they'll just muddle up his perfect, raw feel. everything he does, whether its him and a piano or him and his effects pedal laying down ten loops, is perfect and flawless and always full of feeling.

what is awkward about liking live music more than studio? A lot of artists are better live; the music is more organic and is usually charged with more emotion rather than the same version played note for note.

I can't understand why this man is not a huge international star. Vocally, musically and soulfully, he's better than any of the 'stars' currently being plugged on commercial media. His looping skills were always better than Ed Sheeran's and consequently his one-man-band has an amazing groove. Check out his song 'Sunday' - a true Maestro!

Jarle Bernhoft is simply an amazing talent in many ways and if the greater musical community hasn't discovered and realized that yet, then it is their loss. And why would anyone try to compare this song with another artist's song just because they share the same title and where it's not even the same song? That is just bizarre beyond comprehension.

He has that timbre in his voice that is so similar to Sinatra and at the same time so personal and different that makes him unique. A technically educated and controlled voice without losing any few of naturalness and warmth. I discover an exceptional singer and recognize a new addiction.
