Anshu, I have been trying to research the Samurai the last several years. I’ve noticed that passion runs high among the sources I’ve encountered with most “calling BS” on the views of all others. I’d appreciate it very much if you would share who your trusted sources are and why.
Thanks for this video sensei. Even in karate, there is a kata the explanation of the movement is...your are hiding your attack using a block technique. Thanks again for your time making this video sensei and for sharing your experience and knowledge and recommendation.
Perhaps Soke could talk about the final life and death test Ninja take . I read that the test is changed every year because the test was being shared amongst ninja. The real Ninja Eric Lustbader who wrote several novels about Ninja described The test in one of his novels. The test he described was a Ninja entered a Dark Barn and came before a Sensei Ninja to whom he bowed . At the same time a Pendulum Blade was released which would cut off his head if he did not sense it . Failure would be death . Life passing the test.
Do you know if there any rituals done on newly formed swords? By the sword makers or sellers? The Japanese and Ed and Lorraine Warren have different religions, but they both believe spirits can attach to objects and inhabit them. The Warrens famously took objects that had been profaned by sorcery and locked them away. Ed Warren wrote that objects profaned by witchcraft invite evil spirits into the object. It develops its own aura and its aura can mix with the aura of humans who touch it. These entities need physical energy from a living person’s aura to manifest. Out of all the weapons that exist, even nuclear weapons, the katana is perceived by many to have something like a spirit.
I ask because I bought a katana a while ago, and nothing phenomenal happened after it arrived. Then I got a few more from a different company in China. After those came, I started seeing them in dreams right away. I've had about ten dreams of them so far. I used much more force to make a fatal stab or cut in the dreams than when I practiced while awake. I can make an effective cut or stab without that much power. The amount of force used in the dreams is always excessive. In dreams, I used them for self-defense, offensively by hunting down and chopping up bad people, or destroying things in my home, like my mattress. In some dreams, they propelled themselves forward while I tried to hold onto them for dear life. So recurring themes are excessive energy and force using them or animating the swords themselves. And I am always disturbed by the gory imagery of using them on people in dreams. I can always feel the other person's fear and pain in the encounter. I've documented my dreams for two decades now. I haven't dreamt of anything else I've ever brought into my home like that. If I were going through a phase of wanting to hack people and things up, I should also dream about the other weapons I own. But I don't dream about my first katana or knives. I bought them for home security, not decor or training. So hoped never to need them, and now I've hacked up people in my dreams with them. They are from an artist's studio in China; I should have mentioned that earlier. Not Japan. Different religions.
