    When me and my best friend first met two years ago, we exchanged what our favorite bands were. Mine was (and still is) My Chemical Romance, and his was Nirvana. He introduced me to Nirvana, and this record ruled my life for about two months. It's perfect. I'm personally more of a fan of In Utero, but, they're both classics.

    • @VinylRewind
      @VinylRewind  9 лет назад +4

      I love My Chemical Romance, its sad how they are nearly forgotten today, at least in the circles I run in. In Utero is great too, especially following Nevermind.

    • @POPNDOUGH
      @POPNDOUGH 7 лет назад

      Ha! I also was a college freshman fall '91. Bought the TG-16CD with my first credit card that year. Had some great games, even though the 2 Robotech games never came out :( , and the Library was small. Super Tecmo Bowl ruled our Dorm, though.

    • @POPNDOUGH
      @POPNDOUGH 7 лет назад

      It was pretty cool, but college is usually where you find out about all the cool underground bands anyways. I think High School must have been a more drastic change with the advent of alternative nation.
      Before that, only the artsy kids, or ones with older siblings in college would know about these bands, then all of a sudden, all those bands were popular, and on mainstream radio/Mtv.

  • @violentaftervisions3849

    I love this record. I fucking love this record. I could listen to this album for forever and never get tired of it. Side 1 is pretty much what everyone has heard on the radio, while Side 2 is just as perfect, having the most fast paced and punk-iest songs. If I could travel back time, I would go to a Nirvana concert, no doubt.

    Is the vinyl version really different-sounding? Cuz the album was recorded digitally, as far as I know.

    • @VinylRewind
      @VinylRewind  9 лет назад +1

      Good question, by its nature, vinyl has limitations that digital (and even tape) don't have, so fidelity wise, vinyl will always sound different. Some folks claim it has a warmer tone, I myself I can't say for certain. As far as it being recorded digitally, I'm not sure, I haven't found anything saying it was or wasn't. Being it was '91 I guess it's possible, but tape was still very popular at that time. Watching this video ruclips.net/video/KRK6c7uXvJE/видео.html makes me think they used ProTools, so you could very well be right.

      It is rumored that the currently available pressing with the Pallas hype sticker, though not on the ORG label, is in fact from the same remaster. They simply scratched out some writing in the dead wax of the copy I have. It sounds astonishingly good; though I do not have an original ORG labeled copy to compare it to... The bottom line is that you can still get a new and phenomenal pressing of this record for less than two Jacksons.

      I was 8 - 9 years old. i remember my oldest brother was at the perfect age for it, he had just graduated high school. He was big into the Seattle scene. But he was also away at college, so I didn't see him much. I honestly noticed Nirvana more when In Utero hit. I couldn't watch MTV without seeing them. I had some friends that were so bummed when he died. I remember when the Foo Fighters hit the scene, it was all, you know the drummer from Nirvana started a band and he sings. Crazy times

      Wow, that is a pretty cool retrospect of a kid who grew up during those days.

    Hello friend, well I have a channel to do reviews of LPs (Vinyl´s). But I had many problems with copyright. My question is: What can I can do to avoid these problems? I mean the Video contains music from the album because it would be fair to criticize. As I know youtube should allow use of music if it is to criticism is´t it?. I wish you could help me, thanks bro.

      Discos Del Mal Hello!! Awesome to talk to a fellow reviewer! My best advice is to not do what I did in this video but instead keep your music clips short, around 3-6secs is best. As long as you keep them short, you shouldn't run into copyright issues. My latest videos do this and I have no problems. Let me know how it goes.

      phillip riddett he wasn't a genius. Paul McCartney, John Lennon and Roger Waters were geniuses. Kurt's lyrics were the rhyming ramblings of a madman

    When you made the comment on the top 500 greatest albums thing I went to see what was on that list and for the picture they used for Sgt. Peppers they used the wrong one. It was a parody version instead of the real thing.
