That’s a gorgeous snake. I love it when the blues show up in reptiles.
@@loriw2661 it was a gorgeous coloured snake that's for sure
Not that I have had much experience with tiger snakes, I have seen a couple, but the colour of that one in this video is blowing my mind. Wow. Very cool!
I agree with you
Hey Pete , you say it 4th deadliest, but boy I've looked into this and I say it goes 1 Inland Taipan Oxyuranus Microlepidotus, 2nd Easretn Brown PseudonajaTextillis , 3 Western Desert Taipan Oxyuranus Temporalis 4 Coastal Taipan Oxyuranus Scutellatus, and 5th Tiger snake Notechis Sculatus, 6 Southern/Common Death Adder Acanthophis Antarcticus , it's a very subjective topic I was being flippant , love it bro , and what a ripper you have there , mad colours cheers
You are insane , & so are all T snake fans ,normally these snake are extremely nervous & aggressive ,extremely dangerous stop misleading the kids ,very irresponsible.
The WA Tiger snakes I have seen are dark black with very defined yellow belly and stripes. Can be very aggresive around breeding season, I have had one flatten out its hood and chase me when I stumbled upon it near a river.
He is beautiful. He seems very relaxed compared to other venomous snakes you have shown us. Thanks for sharing him.
GOD BLESS 🐍💕🐍💕🐍💕
Thank you too
Nearly stepped right on one of these a while ago. The only thing that saved me was seeing the bright yellow on its belly, otherwise it was among some rocks right near my boot and I would not have seen it till it was too late. Amazing how much their colour varies!
They colour does vary alot
Beautiful blue Tiger. Great video and very informative. Thanks for the class. 👍👍
My pleasure!
It’s amazing how much colour variation in these guys. I’ve almost trodden on a few them over the years.
mate Im 61 lived and worked all over the country, love wild life shows forever. ?? never heard of a blue Tiger snake?wtf, you have some questions to answer Mr Attenbourough.
Another interesting, informative & educational vid Pete! Thanks heaps, keep them coming mate.
Thanks, will do!
That's awesome, thank you Pete
Glad you enjoyed it
What a great video brother! I like snake content, I am not a handler though myself. Andre
@@CairnsLobster appreciate you
Beautiful snake: thanks for the video.
@@johnschlesinger2009 thank you for your support
Nice video man, very informative 🤟
Appreciate it mate !
I can't help but love all of our aussie elapids mate. How do you find the V shaped hooks over the U shaped?
Thanks for the info and video
Any time!
Hey cool an extended short!
Peter Birch did you know Tiger Snakes have been milked at Australian Reptile Park?
I've been letting tigers browns blue toungues shingle backs and copper heads on my property for 16yts
Keep up the good work
That blue tiger is similar to the sth Australia blue tiger found in the Adelaide hills Onkaparinga basin , they are more blue /grey colour. Not as grumpy as the Murray River basin tigers
Some are very well mannered 😊
@@CrittaCam at my bush block in the Mallee we have very relaxed strap snouted browns . Casual as. Stunning bands . I have footage following one around. The locals called them bandy bandy browns, almost like the coral snake. I could summon one up by idling my tractor very slow , generally with in half hr it would casually turn up.
In my home area of Adelaide hills it's the respect to the 6ft old red belly , and the fact it goes fishing. See mt Barker courier article . Copper heads are a concern hanging from trees in bushland or pine trees.
I would love a feature on Murray basin snakes . Lake Alexandrina was full of different varieties and sub strains .
But most of all that blue tiger was majestic . I hadn't seen one since mid 80s as a teen at goyders reserve Mylor sth Australia. They are left over from the ice age according to the museum.
Thankyou
I think I’ve got “spotted black snakes”. living in the thunderbox, they are very timid, and never do anything but escape, you can move them out of the bird pens by hand. Is this normal? They act similar to yours slow and ezy. Always full of ratlings ( Often spew up if scared) so I keep them alive. They seem to be travelling the rat lines.
Sounds like you have one!
@@CrittaCam o no not one they winter in group three to five.
Meanest looking snake I ever seen was a big maroon coloured tiger in NE Vic.
They do look angry with that big head some get
What is the reason for a V shaped hook rather than a U shaped hook?
The V can make is easy to control them so they can't keep falling out, most of the Aussie elapids don't like to sit on hooks
Gday champion, I'm from SW Vic near the beach. We get possibly one or two a year in the yard. Move them on, they aren't a problem. There is a knackery up the road. I'm positive there is a massive one on the dunes. I crossed it's path riding a bike. It was a big big snake. At least 12, 14 foot. I'm confident it wasn't a python. Does that sound viable. I know king tigers are a thing, but didn't think they existed in Victoria.
Any thoughts?
Not sure they grow that big😮
Thanks, mate. I know it sounds absurd. But I was confident it wasn't a python. Levys beach was the area.
Thanks again.
@@BillboBaggins With enough food, space and heat reptiles can get scary big... 12+ foot and not a python is king cobra territory though, Whatever it was, he is the boss :)
@Muffin_Masher Thanks for the response, champion. You nailed it.😎
How large do they get ? Are they like bullsnakes and indigo length , girth? 😊
Are Tiger snakes endangered? How many are left in the wild?
They are heading that way on the Mainland with multiple localities under threat of human expansion
@@CrittaCam Do you have a source to support this claim? How many thousand are left on the mainland?
That’s a beautiful snake!!!
Do tiger snakes hibernate?
They do
