Won't work (at least with this samsung's app) It use Gyroscope to detect the camera/phone location and movement. It'll get confused if the camera/phone didn't move but the object keep changing (rotating). You'll need to make another app for that, with fixed distant to turn table (or ability to calibrate it), and make the turntable spin at certain speed.

Why wasn't this feature announced with all the major reviews of the Note 10+ on RUclips?! I know it's not perfect in all situations, but still, the ability of 3D scanning something and then use it to 3D print it or use it with 3D modeling applications is a nice thing to have... and hopefully, it's something that will improve with better 3D sensors and 3D apps!...
As a 3D artist who works a lot with 3D scanning I was pretty excited for this. Sure it looks good with the color texture applied but if you remove the texture in a 3D program you can see the scan itself is unfortunately not very good. You get more of a blob that's short of shaped like the object. I'm hoping a third party will come along and really take advantage of this ToF sensor.
I've seen the 3d creator in Xperia phones, I think it does a better job, though it has no depth sensor, so it takes more work to 3d scan an object, but overall it gives better results

The proper way to instruct owners of the Note 10+ to find and download the 3D scanner is to have them open Bixby vision and set it up.
