More fantastic pictures & memories from a far better & happier time in history.. thanks for sharing once again..👍👍 just keep the joys of showing these great pictures whenever you can.. Thanks once again👍👍👍
Another humdinger Colin, liberally sprinkled with those transports of delight. And my one-time shopping street, Saracen street for good measure. Well done!
Another fantastic collection of photos. I loved the one at the end of Victoria Road. I've never seen it so busy! The photo is a far cry from the Victoria Road we can see on YT videos these days.
Thank you so much for posting these they have given me so much pleasure and nostalgia the first picture on this one of the two ladies chatting is lovely different times, different world...
Another good one Colin. The photo at 3.22, I just don't recognise it as Victoria road but I could be wrong. The Fire Brigade sequence was very poignant. My classmate Gerry Quinn lost his dad in the Sher brothers warehouse fire in 1972 along with 6 other firemen. I still remember going to his funeral at Holy Cross church in Govanhill.
Gosh, Peter was a friend of my Dad's. I'm too young to remember Cheapside, but people still talk about it with a heavy heart to this day. My mum could see it from 6 miles away. Tragic.
What year did they close, shipyards was another downfall ,Clyde built ,a phrase used all over the world just like rolls royce, we glaswegions are proud for a reason, no one can take that away.❤
Another great selection. Thanks.
Thank you.
I grew up in Ruchill (1966), Cromer St. It's not there now..

Thank you, the past was simpler and full of hope for the future, sadly we didn't hope for the world as it is today.

Thank you, when I lived in Toryglen there was a singer, Peter Mallan, who was also a fireman and was at the Cheapside fire.

@@colinburrowes8063Sadly, my nana remembered watching the Clydebank blitz from afar. Different times hopefully
