I could't find a definitive answer as to whether the full $7500 tax credit will still be in effect in 2024, so we decided that the tax credit of $7500 plus the current discounts on current inventory (we got $2600) were just too sweet a deal to pass up. Hate to be a copy cat, but we also chose the silver Y long range and a tow hitch for our e-bike rack. Since we already have an unused 30 amp dryer outlet in our garage, we have our level 2 charging station. We are loving the car so far. I should mention that we got 6-months of free super charging with the referral. We have a 24 port supercharger station just a few miles away from home, so what more could we ask for?
I think the grey looks the best oit of the current color offerings. They really are awesome vehicles. I think if more people had an opportunity to demo drive one they would would feel the same. I think the main issue is cost. Once Tesla releases an entry level model around the 25k price point I think there will be a big uptick in interest.
I really had no intention of buying a new car, but was really curious about these and the last electric car I tried was a Vanguard CitiCar. "An electric cheese wedge from the 70's" So I took a single motor Model 3 for a demo drive, and the experience was pretty much as described. Didn't spend much time playing with the screen, I really wanted to experience what it was like to drive. I'm picking up my new M3 this Thursday!
If you live in the city and that city supports electric cars, it is a great choice. If you rent or live in rural America, not my first or 5th choice. My diesel can go 700 miles on a tank (think from El Paso to Dallas) and it takes me 9 hours to get there. That same drive in the Tesla is a 15 hour drive. Time is money. They're great for driving around the city, but horrible range especially in HOT Texas weather.
Tesla does not have dealerships. Thank god. You keep saying dealership. They only have their own show rooms. And no sales people. No commission. Just workers that help you. Good video but there are no dealerships.
@@1MrErling Why sorry? RAV4 Prime is actually an upgrade compared to the Model Y. Just on hybrid mode I average 500 miles pluse the 52 mile EV range. quieter cabin, a lot better suspension no rattles.
@@1MrErlingModel Y was such a disappointment, build quality, noisy cabin, stiff ride even lower the tire pressure didn't make any better, rattles coming from the rear trunk erea. Range not even close as advertised. Plus I couldn't charge where I lived so having to go a supercharge twice every week was a pain in the ass.

I put 92k miles on a M3 SR+ and just bought a used Y DM +boost and +enhanced (included) and the Y is so much better, so much more room.
The model 3 I demoed was a little cramped for my liking. I agree thelat the Model Y has better leg room.

I was blown away by the driving experience. Congratulations on your new Tesla!
