The way you described the day wrote 4k was exactly what happened to me on day 2! The writing really flowed and I could see everything so clearly, then when I checked my word count for the day I saw 6k and it felt surreal. I feel like I’m still chasing that high - I’ve been in the worst writing slump since June but this nano has completely turned it around and I find myself looking forward to working on the book. I’ve had the idea for it since I was 12 and actually getting to write these characters that have been in my head for so long is an insane feeling :))
I'm not officially doing Nanowrimo but my goal is to finish my current draft by the end of the month cuz I'm giving birth in December. I am with you in the struggle, comrade!
These videos feel so nostalgic. I remember watching your nanowrimo videos years ago. I was a lot happier back then, and I feel that happiness again a little bit with this nostalgia.
I am behind in the word count. In fact, there was never a day where I had met the writing goal except for Day 1. But I’m okay with it. My goal in this nano is not to reach 50k but to just write.
i haven’t even started at all because i wasn’t even gonna participate in the first place (since i didn’t prep for it) but now i’m feeling intense fomo and so i decided i just wanna pants my way through it.
My very first NaNo I started five days late and I still won because the whole NaNo vibe and community just made me fly :) A 4K day, damn, that's awesome! I'd love to know more about your stories in general. Do you write in a certain genre or in different genres? YA or adult? Are you a Plotter, Pantser or Plantser? How do you create your characters? What movies or TV-Shows and books inspire you? I wanna know it all :D Cheering you on and am happy your problems with the NaNo website were solved. Sending creative vibes :)
I finally had caught up with where I should be, then yesterday I spent all day at my friend’s house and left because I had a panic attack lol. When I got home I had a headache because of that so I just went straight to bed and now I have to make up 2 days of writing today, but I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to do it. Also, very interesting to hear your method of not stopping unless it’s an even number. I might try that.
2-3 days behind on writing with only 8K words. I plan on putting aside a day to just catch tf up but rn we’re strugglin a bit. Have the plot down just haven’t had time w/ personal stuff and just being busy. Hope to see you thrive on your Nano tho!
hi caleb!!! i'm already behind on my wordcount, lol. but I have a question! what is your goal with the book? will you query? have you queried? trad pub or indie pub? just curious, thankssss
I have yet to update my word count for today but I'm currently sitting at just over 15,000 words. I think this is the best start I've had with NaNaWriMo since I first started participating, but I can see me losing steam by this weekend already haha
Should i just randomly start nanowrimo like tomorrow?? Lol never written a full thing before, never done nanowrimo... Does anyone think thats a good idea or should i just write this idea i have but not participate in nanwrimo this year...? Idk
You totally could! I only started writing today. Don’t know if I’ll finish but worst case I’ll get some writing done in November. Nano also lets you set your own word count goal if you don’t want to do the full 50k one, if you didn’t know 😊

Honestly your word count logic makes sense I might try that! I’m almost at 17000 and this is encouraging me to push to 18000 tonight.

Of course, the year I decided not to do Nanowrimo, Caleb participated 😔✊️
Feel free to tease us with short excerpts from your WIP. 😁 Love your content!

Caleb you are the most interesting and fun person in the world 😊
What genre is your story? And how long did it take you to make up your story and structure it?
idk about the second question but he said in a previous video that it’s very high fantasy
