But is it the most powerful EDC flashlight? Or, is it practical enough to carry on an everyday basis?

    So I got mine yesterday and used it in a real world situation yesterday evening. It was on constantly using mid and high, sometimes turbo for 4 and a half hours. According to the level indicator I still had over 40% charge after that. At first I though it would feel heavy to carry around but it’s not so. It did get hot-ish but I was gripping it it tightly so just holding it on the end using a couple of fingers helped it to cool down. The fan came on when turbo was engaged but is very quite and soon switched itself off. All in all I think this is a great light.

    As I said in another comment, is that this light is making, but I think they missed an opportunity. 2500 lumen constant IS impressive and I love that, however, this fan is no joke, I wish they had offered a 3500 or maybe 4000 lumen mode where the fan would also run as it does in turbo. Having this fan is a boon for turbo as it gets you a full minute of max lighting, but why not use that fan to the fullest and extend that continuous lumen capability to a higher setting? If you have a fan on the light, you should at least offer 2 fan modes, to do less is a waste. That said, I’m buying the damn light. It’s a good one. I hope they an X1-V2.0 where you get solid runtimes on higher lumen settings, it would basically make this light into more of a unicorn than it already is.

    Great looking light! The value I see in it is that it can run indefinitely at 2500 lumens! What small flashlight can do that? We have too many mega- thousand lumen lights ithat step down in 30 seconds to a 1,000 or less. This will light your way for a long walk or an outdoor project!
    EDIT... I just ordered it.

    • @TheLumberJacked
      @TheLumberJacked Год назад

      This is so true. This is a rare specimen for sure. Even running turbo for 1 whole minute is miricle territory. I would say that maybe they could have gotten more creative and added a 3500 lumen mode where the fan runs. I don’t know if it would have been sustainable, but running it for a minute at 12k lumen tells me the fan is no joke. A 3500 lumen option would be amazing IMHO and extend the benefits of the fan out a little further.

    They're just 2x INR21700M50T batteries made by LG. Less then $10 each. You can replace the batteries if you want. Should extend the service life of the light if the originals ever wear down.

    Just telling, the x1 falcon is more of 10k lumens, in doesn't touch the 12k lumens at all, but still I prefer the tm12k, we cannot go wrong on nitecore lumens measurement. It will only be exactly 12k lumens for example, or it'll be a bit higher....but i still want it😭it's just I can't handle the price😭

    • @fyvewytches
      @fyvewytches Год назад +1

      @@flashlight_hunters what I think about it is that I’ll see when mine is delivered later today. Like I wrote previously YMWV. I guess no two lights will be precisely the same. In another review the guy measure full output at 12,2k so who knows. But TBH the 12k setting, like all so called turbo settings, is not what I’m interested in, but rather the long run time on med-high settings. I’ll see tonight, if it’s not good I’ll send it back :)

    These small flashlights with high lumens output are nice on paper, but the immediate step-down ruins it for me and I guess everyone else. The step-down of the Nitecore TM12K after mere seconds is a perfect example. Stick to a maximum of 4000-5000 lumens on a small flashlight. If you want a higher output, go for a bigger flashlight.
