Official:🔥Aston Villa sign Ian Maatsen from Chelsea ✅ Hakim Ziyech Joins Galatasaray

Young Chelsea left back Ian Maatsen has today completed his transfer to Aston Villa, for a reported fee of £37.5m and signing a six-year deal through 2030. He leaves after six years on our books, coming over from PSV at age 16.
Unfortunately, when all was said and done, Maatsen never really got a chance at Chelsea proper. Having impressed on loans at Charlton Athletic, Coventry City, and Burnley in the lower leagues, the young left back would have but a few months to try to carve out a role for himself in a crowded field last season, resulting in just 15 appearances but only 3 starts, before a January loan would see him leave once again.
His performances for Dortmund, including a trip to the Champions League final, meant that there would be no shortage of suitors for him this summer, including a couple willing to meet the £35m release clause in his contract. And in fact, according to reports, Aston Villa are paying slightly over that price, £37.5m to acquire the Netherlands international.

Chelsea confirmed the permanent departure of Hakim Ziyech to Galatasaray. The Moroccan winger spent last season on loan with the Turkish giants, where a clause was included to make the move permanent. This clause has now been activated free of cost and Ziyech will continue his career in Turkey. Despite foot and ankle injuries disrupting his campaign, he managed to make 23 appearances across all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing four assists.
Galatasaray did not incur a loan fee for Ziyech last season but did cover his wages, amounting to €3.5m. For the upcoming season, Ziyech’s salary has been adjusted to €2.8m. The one-year contract includes an option for an additional season, contingent on unspecified conditions.
