This is not a normal puukko museum, this is Iisakki Jarvenpaa museum, the most legendary in my opinion. Iisakki Jarvenpaa puukos are the most beautiful ones out there still being made today
Wow, they actually have the same knive i got as a kid when I was 5. Shown at 2:45. Lapin Pukkoo. I believe itˋs not a high end Pukko, but the blade is really good. Extremly sharp, still use it for woodworking.
I've been trying to find info about the sheath type in the middle of the table at 2:52 Which regions does it come from? What's it called? How do you make one ? Just so curious... It's a special construction...
well, if i were a betting gal i would say made of birch. you have the lovely large birch skin that is then ringed with birch strips. this particular display case looks to be of birch made sheaths. you can buy birch strips online and make them. tons of videos show you how to do it. some designs will require water, etc. try this link here for some great info: nordiskaknivar.wordpress.com/2014/09/02/tuohi-birch-bark-in-finnish-culture-by-eero-kovanen/ i hope this helps
This could have been so much better had you slowed down. A series of “stills” edited with “Informed” commentary could turn this video material into an informative, educational entertaining documentary. One, that would have been beneficial to all of us who will never have the opportunity to “walk in your shoes”. Still photos can be studied to gain knowledge of details lost to the viewer of videos.

It's made out of birch bark and it's twined from narrow slices. All kinds of stuff were made from it, backpacks, shoes, baskets etc.

Sorry. I was not there to video. I videotaped fairly fast so that I could enjoy it slowly with my family.
