Hi everyone! It’s me, Kennan! Thank you all so much for watching my first solo video with the 456! Admittedly, I am still learning how to do this and be less Doug-y and more Kennan-y, but I’m feeling more comfortable each time, and I very much appreciate the support. I’ll stay focused on the “facts and figures” as opposed to the “quirks and features,” and I hope you all enjoy nerding out with me over cool cars, exactly like this 456, here on the Cars & Bids channel!
Good job, were looking forward to it! And I for one don't mind both, whatever makes you happy to review - go for it and see how it goes. Just be genuine, take some risks/try things out and keep what you like. At the end of the day, have fun with it. I think this video will be interesting to go back to a year from now.
Hi Kennan, great job and yes, I think you'll be better to watch once you develop your own style of reviewing videos... Were you the one who reviewed the E39 M5 on the Cars and Bids channel a while ago?
Good to see you doing reviews on you own. It was a resonable step because Doug's reviews kinda have their perfect formula already and adding someone doesn't work out, at least that's what I felt and apparently many other viewers as well. Now it's just a matter of growing into it as Doug says and finding your own style as most people in the comments say. Nice work btw!
kennan did better on this than he has done on previous reviews when he was on screen with doug imo, not focusing on quirks and features too much and bringing in more history and mechanicals is a good move for kennan i think, he does have a teacher vibe
@@silentgamer666 That's why Doug will continue to do videos on quirks and features, while Kennan will cover other aspects of cars that Doug doesn't always cover with the same depth.
I agree - Kennan did better. But there does seem to be some “Dougisms” he uses. If we have to have people other than Doug, then absolutely, they need to be themself & not pretend to be Doug.
Brings me back to E39 Source videos. Some of my early RUclips days were looking up BMW DIY’s and I ran into those guys. Cool to see Kennan working with Doug now!
@@apocalypse487 that's true. considering that, Kennan is off to a good start establishing his own style. I'd say if Kennan will stay with us here, it'd be better if he'll do his own reviews instead of looking like Doug's sidekick
This video is the first review video with Kennan where he really shines. When he was discussing the driving, he seemed to be himself rather than trying to be Doug, and it was very good. The review part was better than he has been when he was with Doug, but he still seems to be trying to be Doug rather than just being himself. I think as he gets more comfortable and finds his style on the reviews, he will continue to get better and better at this
Now that we know Kennan will not be replacing Doug, we can rest at ease and actually enjoy Kennan’s content on the channels. Great job, Kennan! Looking forward to much more.
@AuschwitzSoccerRef.A true fan would trust Doug. Doug has been working hard to bring us good content, he deserves a break. You're a sad person and I hope you can improve your mindset
@Auschwitz Soccer Ref. He literally said that he is STILL making two videos every single week (Tues and Thurs) that are going to be solo reviews. Nothing about that has changed. He’s literally just making MORE content for the people who are interested / want to watch. If you don’t like it then just don’t watch those videos.
@Auschwitz Soccer Ref. You clearly are not aware of how Doug got famous. Weird, quirky guys revewing cars and being made fun of in the comments is clearly a formula that works
Yeah I think the biggest "issue" right now is that he's trying to act like Doug. Otherwise, I really like the geeky mechanical and tech stuff that Doug himself doesn't get into. I also like it better when he's doing it solo. Doug and Kennan reviews were kinda awkward.
He'll never have his own style because he's intentionally trying to act like Doug. I agree (like everyone else) that if he was himself this would be fine. It would be like if you watched Donut Media and everyone they hired tried to imitate James Pumphrey.
@@thespinachreport7419 It's a good starting point to adapt to an established audience. Doug has a formula which he can work from and tweak, so while they may remain similar (which is good, IMO) I don't think it's fair to say he'll never come into his own.
Kennan’s style and persona came through when he started driving. Kinda saw a little bit of what Doug was getting at when he said Kennan is much more lively than what we’ve seen on camera. Looking forward to seeing him develop a different style of his own.
I didn't get the hate on Kennan in Doug's videos' dislikes. True car guy, with wide knowledge, enjoyable presenting style and relatable views. Looking forward to the future solo and collab reviews.
This was one of my favorite cars being reviewed properly. I lusted after this car something special in the '90's as a modern manual front engine V12. It was like Ferrari made an Italian BMW 850CSi. This 456 engine song sounded like ripped silk; so smooth and succulent. The custom luggage for it was even emblazoned with "456" labelled hardware, wow. The fact you were able to teach me something is a testament to your expertise as a true Ferraristi amongst the cognoscenti.
‘The Car Guys’ did an extended review of the 456 GT. You should check it out buddy. I tried to attach the link to their RUclips video, but mysteriously my comment got deleted (twice).
This style works really well. Him being on his own and having his own style makes it so much better than trying to fit him into Doug's very distinct style
Normally I would think modifying a Ferrari would be a cardinal sin, but in this case I think it looks so much better with the additional red part of the tail lights painted.
This car is just so unbelievably gorgeous, it makes me smile! I remember I had a toy model of the 456 and it was my favourite. I've always liked the rear design. Btw I don't care you kinda mimicked doug a bit, I would've probably done the same. In no time you'll develop your own style organically.
I can see already that Ken is getting more comfortable behind the camera. Combined with his expert level of knowledge of cars I think that this is a prize winning combo.
Getting really strong Alex on Autos vibes but for an older car and I mean that as a compliment. Love this more technical/historical vibe. It's a great compliment to how Doug's videos flow.
Well done Kennan. My only advice is, find your own voice/style. I know that you already have a big influence with Doug’s style, but I would like to see you as loose in the walk around of the car as you seemed to be on the driving section. Practice makes perfect, keep going
Doug was right, I am going to like Kennan's reviews. I hope he does a video like this about the 2006 E90 330xi. I think its the oddball car in the E90 line up. Made for only 1 year and maybe the last of the powerful and naturally aspirated BMW N52 engines.
The 456 and the 550 are still the very best looking Ferraris ever made to this day IMO. One of them will always have a place on my top 10 dream car list, cannot forget them since 1998's NFS3:HP.
I like what Doug is doing with the 2 channels. And Kennan is getting more comfortable in front of the camera. I here for the new era of Doug and Cars & Bids 👌🏾🔥
Wonderful vid my man. Chopped in my F355 for one of these back in 2021 because I wanted to own a front-engined Ferrari V12 before I shuffled off my mortal coil (Monty Python !) Superb car! Even my wife 'liked' it ( comfortable electrically adjustable seats, aircon that worked!) Took it on several trips in the UK and had a blast! Sold it last year for a (small) profit but no regrets. Still got my old 1996 911 and an even older 1986 BMW 635CSi to blast around the pot-holed UK roads. Cheers from a quite chilly Otford, Kent, UK.
Does feel like it's Kennan doing a Doug impersonation mannerisms and cadence wise. Hopefully he finds his own Kennan groove over time. We're here for you Kennan - just keep doing you!
This is honestly my ultimate dream vehicle (I have no illusions about ever affording a 612 Scaglietti with a manual). Ferrari V12 with a manual and rear seats, but flies under the radar with the understated styling in a muted color. It's a Ferrari for someone who wants a more personal experience.
I think people are too critical of Kennan for not “having his own style.” In this video, when he laughs about the quirky stuff, I don’t see it as imitating Doug. Instead, I see it as him being Doug’s best friend who also thinks these quirks are chuckle worthy (because they are). We all have grown to love Doug, but someone else covering “quirks and features” isn’t a big deal. I think much of Doug’s magic is in the subject matter, the timing, the pacing, etc. Of course Doug’s personality and genuine love of oddball calls is great, but I think so much of the recipe to Doug’s videos can be recreated by someone else - and who better than his best friend? I think this video was great.
Looking forward to your content, Kennan! Don't listen to these kids in RUclips comments - they could never do or be what you are, and what you are is a great presenter in the making. Be yourself and I'll continue to watch and support as you get settled as the lead presenter here!
I genuinely don’t see a problem with this video, he does a great job and is literally giving you free content on a channel that was basically dead. What’s not to like? People just hate change evidently, but if you really do like Doug so much I suggest you listen to one of the few podcasts he’s been in recently and see why he’s taking a step back (or rather letting others step forward). Also, for the people criticising Kennan for being too much like Doug or not having his own style, have you considered that they are literally best friends so it isn’t inconceivable that they would share some of the same mannerisms. Of course he is going to use Doug as a benchmark for his own videos given how successful they’ve been, but this video shows that he’s starting to get more of a feel for it on his own and that’s great. I haven’t seen too much negativity in these comments, but there definitely is some - and to those people I really think you should stop watching now if your fragile little mind can’t handle watching a new person. James May wasn’t on the first series of Top Gear, but his presence didn’t spoil the show did it?
Kennan, my man, stop copying Doug lol. Don’t do the “THIS”, don’t say “Caaars and Biiids” like Doug does, don’t copy Doug’s speaking cadences and mannerisms. We don’t want a knockoff Doug, we want an original Kennan. Pretend like you’ve never seen a Doug review and review the car how you’d do it. You got this bro!
Kennan did a phenomenal job, his knowledge is amazing and he has his way of presenting the facts. Good Job Kennan can’t wait for more videos like this! This channel will soon be a serious competitor to the Doug Demuro channel!
I started watching Dougs videos when he had the 360. And haven't missed a video ever since. Great job ! You're not doug but I'll give you a B+. You did great
You got some big shoes to fill. Tough gig subbing in for Doug. I like how you focus on your strengths and nerd out on the engineering as that's what i've always felt was lacking from Doug. Great Guy, never met him.
Whoever this is did a straight up bad ass job! I LOVE it!!!!!!!! Way better watching someone act natural opposed to the flailing weird over exaggerated unwanted show we normally get with you know who. Anyway, great great job kennen… or whatever. Encore!!!!
this was really well done. don't feel pressured to be a large personality. an expert can be understated and listened to. The quality is in the knowledge, and the engagement is in the expertise. Really well done Kennan.
I like Kennan in this role a lot! Doug is a little jaded for these types of vids. It's fun to see someone who hasn't driven everything talking about what would be a dream car for most people.
Yeah, this was great. I especially liked the part where he talked about the car when he was driving it. He added a really technical side to the driving experience of the vehicle that we're not used to from Doug, and dove into what ownership of the car would be like. That part also just felt more natural for him to talk about.
Think Kennan should keep “THHHHIIIIISSSS” but otherwise doesn’t have to follow the Doug-script. I think he’s at his best when he was doing his own history and technical sections without trying to fit into the Doug-shaped box. We love Doug. And we can love Kennan, too. He doesn’t also have to be Doug!
Always a fan of the 456 - one of the prettiest cars of the era (maybe the 8-series is slightly nicer, but that's about it) and it hasn't aged like later Ferrari models. Truly a timeless design, in my mind. Nice insightful video - thanks Kennan. I appreciate you don't do requests, but, you know, if you stumble upon a Mondial T that would be good!
i remember, when first time jeremiah appeared on Donut Media almost everyone hates him. as times goes by, he became better and better. i Think Kennan have a good start here
Kennan, as someone who really disliked the collaboration videos you did with Doug, I gotta say that this is more promising then I thought. Find your own voice, don’t feel forced to use Doug’s timing and cadences. I think you have something unique to offer, you just have to relax and find a delivery that feels natural for you. Good luck.
Initially, when Doug would review cars such as this, I would be less likely to watch the videos. With Kennan here, I was intrigued because of the technical specifications and the way he speaks about things Doug won't. Absolutely loving this, and can't wait to see more, and see him come out from the half Doug persona and do his own thing while retaining a bit of the structure of Dougs vids. Absolutely amazing job man!
hey Kennan, good luck on your first solo video. You stared with the best car! So beautiful and so elegant! 456GT is the reason I like cars! First time I saw her in a magazine's cover in the 90s (it was an Auto motor und Sport - Greek edition) I was amazed! Good way to start your thing!
Solid video Kennan. Looking more composed and confident! Loved your insight into history and technology of this beautiful 456. I'd say the next step is to bring more of your character and style into these videos. Can't help but feel that Doug's formula is being retreated and we want to get to know YOU as a person and as a car enthusiast.
Ferrari - we’ve spent time and money engineering a back up for our trunk button incase it breaks . Honda - we’ve engineered our trunk button not to break .
This first solo video with Kennan is clearly better than the ones he’s shared with Doug. Hats off to him for being more comfortable in front of the camera already, and I know he’ll get better as he gets more experienced
i feel like NuDoug™ would really excel going MORE in depth on the mechanical choices and justifications for certain designs in these cars, focusing less on quirks and how they influence the ownership experience and focusing more on decisions that ferrari (or whomever) made to make X car drive the way it does. How does that firing order increase torque? was there pushback? what did the engineers want to do vs the guys deciding what the car would be. I don't mind Kennan, which is saying a lot considering how new he is, and I think he has the potential to really add something valuable to these videos, working either with doug or separate in videos like these. Def let doug focus on weird interiors and odd latches and put Keenan on drivetrain, suspension geometry, wheel sizes, etc. he seems to know how to present what makes a car fast/comfortable, just needs to go that direction. TL;DR. right now keenan is mostly copying doug, he should do what he does best more, then he will really add something.
Love this, Kennan. well done. Please please please record the sound from the exhaust *when the car is accelerating and decelerating under load*. Just stick a wireless camera back there and have it record your whole drive. Then you'll have awseome-sounding engine noise instead of the empty threats of an engine being revved in neutral. Please.
I think we finally got our first glimpse of what Kennan's future style is going to be during the segment of him driving... Like he got to be his real self on camera, in a review, and not so much psuedo-Doug. That and it was the point for me where I can see this is going to work for him.
Wow! I loved Kennan's take on Doug's tried and tested formula of a car review. More history details, more technical geeky staff - incredible. Also the general review is exactly as you'd want it to be - thorough, precise and honest. Also, imagine Kennan become THE Ferrari guy on the channel... delightful!
You're quite good on your own, and I see you starting to get used to the cameras, good work! Let your personality shine brighter as you adapt and change Doug's format and you'll be on your way to something quite cool!

I was skeptical not seeing Doug, but wow am I impressed with how natural the on-screen presence is. Great review!
Great video, Kennan is great when he's by himself, nice job brother!
this was really well done. don't feel pressured to be a large personality. an expert can be understated and listened to. The quality is in the knowledge, and the engagement is in the expertise. Really well done Kennan.
I’ve always loved the 456, such a good looking car.
Really digging these Kennan videos, well done !
I like Kennan in this role a lot! Doug is a little jaded for these types of vids. It's fun to see someone who hasn't driven everything talking about what would be a dream car for most people.
people that talk like Doug that's not Doug makes my brain hurt. Even still, well done :)
Yeah, this was great. I especially liked the part where he talked about the car when he was driving it. He added a really technical side to the driving experience of the vehicle that we're not used to from Doug, and dove into what ownership of the car would be like. That part also just felt more natural for him to talk about.
Man I was thinking did Doug really grow some facial hair? On the phone I had to zoom in lol. Sweet car and so far sounds like a great review
Nah the Ferrari drives better than the 8 Series and the interior is way nicer, both pretty cars but the BMW is a bit of a pig.
Still one of the prettiest Ferraris in my opinion. I don't know if most people agree.
i remember, when first time jeremiah appeared on Donut Media almost everyone hates him. as times goes by, he became better and better. i Think Kennan have a good start here
Kennan is the kind of guy to ignore the quirks and features and focus on the facts and figures
He really took the Doug hand movement Masterclass lol
Awesome job Kennan. Your passion shines though loud and clear!! Great information.
C&B three year anniversary?!? Already?!? Time flies when you're having fun!
Yes! Good to have Kennan doing his own videos on cars! He'll grow more comfortable with his role, I'm sure of it!
Kennan making me want one of these cars, I've only heard of this car in passing and now to know more about it, I truly want it
Very informative, nicely done!
Good luck Kennan!
Hi, not-Doug! I'm glad you're here!
Hood scoops ftw!
Kennan finally looks comfortable on camera. Great review
Absolutely hands down one of my favourite looking Feeza's
*Kennan is a shy adorable baby.*
He is already better than in the very beginning, and he will improve further.
The Doug Demuro "This!" with the lispe is pretty good. Now you just got to practice the "Cars!" and "Bids!" with the added excitement.😂
This has been the best Kennan car review style performance yet! Also lol at the double shirt homage.
I like seeing Kennan on his own. Glad you stuck with it, look forward to seeing you get more comfortable 👍🏽
I want one! Just like Kennan, I get a little tired of the attention driving a red, mid-engine Ferrari brings (good and bad).
This is a great option for flying under the radar.
I'm very happy to have more content :) You do great, Kennan! Good job.
Doug absolutely NEEDS to review a 456. Possibly not one that has been tastelessly modded like this.
keep up the great work Kennan!!
Fantastic review kennan. Really glad to have you on the channel!
i feel like NuDoug™ would really excel going MORE in depth on the mechanical choices and justifications for certain designs in these cars, focusing less on quirks and how they influence the ownership experience and focusing more on decisions that ferrari (or whomever) made to make X car drive the way it does.
Please.
This is very close to being a hilarious parody of Doug.
What it does do is emphasise just how formulaic Doug's videos have become 😸
I think we finally got our first glimpse of what Kennan's future style is going to be during the segment of him driving... Like he got to be his real self on camera, in a review, and not so much psuedo-Doug. That and it was the point for me where I can see this is going to work for him.
Bro honestly, Doug format or not, as a car guy I am all here for more content 😃! Keep up the good work team 👏🏿
Perfect - I’m sold on Kennen and can’t wait to watch all his videos. I love the history and detail
Wow! I loved Kennan's take on Doug's tried and tested formula of a car review. More history details, more technical geeky staff - incredible. Also the general review is exactly as you'd want it to be - thorough, precise and honest. Also, imagine Kennan become THE Ferrari guy on the channel... delightful!
I almost got this car but it was automatic 😊 if I had the cake now I would totally grab it 😊
You're quite good on your own, and I see you starting to get used to the cameras, good work! Let your personality shine brighter as you adapt and change Doug's format and you'll be on your way to something quite cool!
The first 2 minutes was like watching a parody of Doug Demuro.
