@@DJAUDITS Oh DAMN! I used to work with fibreglass and you use massive barrels of acetone and tons of other highly flamable stuff. I never had to deal with a fire and thank goodness. One flame in one of those factories and theres no getting it under control until the good people from the fire service come and help you out.

I'm afraid you are completely wrong about the "unsafe levels of radiation" near power lines. All that meter can tell you is that you are likely to experience interference with radio frequency equipment. The EMF near HT lines is considerably less dangerous than not wearing a hat when the sun is out.

It's not unsafe. Only ionising radiation is potentially dangerous. Electricity pylons do not produce anything anywhere near the energy levels required for that.
Unsafe radiation levels... I suspect this is not the case. What were the units you were measuring in? There's no magnetic EMF limit in the UK, though in much of the EU it's 100 µT.

I have no idea why youtube recommended this channel to me but after watching a few videos I sympathise with the way people treat you at times being aggressive etc, however the way you respond to them in such a way I am not surprised in the way people react. You take this mighty stance of "I know more than you so I will talk to you how I like because I'm the one in the right" when in actual fact you come across just as much of a bell end as the security personnel or staff who deal with you incorrectly.

These people all work for companys who woudlnt think 2ce on replacing them for other staff. You could work for the same company 25 years and have a little disagreement over something and they wont hesitate to fire you. So why do workers of such companys take it upon themselfs to proove something to the company and police its policys. Most of them are not even in positions of authority within the company there just simple disposable workers stepping up to police the site, In the rare instance that DJ bumps into the actual owners the majority of times there informative and he even sometimes gets a tour.

Unsafe levels of "radiation" is not what if happening with those pylons. Maybe unsafe levels of magnetic flux. But there is no radiation. No electro magnetic spectrum being emitted like light, no ionising radiation (the stuff you need to worry about like UV, X-rays Gamma radiation)

If they escalate to being physical then physical self defence will commence. All on camera. We would however prefer to make a nice video and have mutual respect throughout. All videos will start with good intent.

There is a bloke who regularly uploads under the name of ukmtt..... U.K. MEET THE TYRANTS he often gets a bit mouthy in his Scots accent and he started telling people to GET BACK TO WORK a couple of years ago. He has a mate who goes under the name of REGGIE PHOTO who does things with a home made measuring device a bit like D.J has now started using. Reggie often uses daft things like a measuring wheel and some times uses an x box controller and stands out side places pretending he is using a drone. Gets the security going nuts every time.
Great video Dj and course the classic DJ line “get back to work” honestly love it when say that and no need for the swearing just being civil and polite like no need for that. My favourite part of video was drone shot and testing the radiation level definitely some high and dangerous levels from the pylons I would be worried working near them with high levels keep up great work 👍🏻😀

I like the EMF detector but I genuinely don't think the power lines are any harm to normal people at a safe distance.
I think the electric shock you had was more to do with static discharge. But for sure it is alarming to have to work right next to power lines 24/7 you will get a lot of Extremely low frequency EMFs (ELF-EMFs).
The more harmful radiation are the ones you get from flying in an airplane or having an X-ray done

Yep, there's not much radiation from power lines. There is a voltage between them and the ground and that is strong enough to light up fluorescent tubes that are held in the hand.

In summertime heat here in the US, I've been underneath HT wires that are sagging much closer to the ground because of it and electrical loading, and were creating visible corona discharges on the little trees and bushes tops. Their little leaves were moving about, and occasionally snapping loudly with random discharges. This would make every leaf on the tree jerk in unison. It was hilarious.
When we grabbed these tree branches, there was enough induced current to actually make our hand and arm muscles quiver! We could feel the 60Hz line frequency. It was fascinating.

I love DJ and all auditors but I think the whole radiation thing can make you come across a bit conspiracy like - what radiation is it even detecting for, sunlight is a form of radiation. Just because its a type of radiation doesn't necessarily mean its dangerous

@@Stealth360stealth Some people experience 'microshocks' when riding a bicycle underneath electricity pylons. It is just a a charge differential between the rider and the bike frame being equalised. They are genuine though. It is very similar to a static shock except the charge is created by the electric field of the lines rather than charge developed by rubbing the insulators together.
The meter he is using isn't really the correct meter for this application, you need to be measuring the electric field in kVm-1 units. There is a 5kVm-1 exposure guideline for the general public and 10kVm-1 for workers.
Gauss or the milliGauss (mG) he has measured is the magnetic field strength , but won't be causing the shocks. Guidelines for this are up to 2000mG for the public and 10,000mG for workers.
At 50Hz there isn't too much of an issue with the radiation, the issue tends to be more at frequencies above 100kHz as this agitates molecules more and long exposure can cause burning and other sensory effects. This is more prevalent around transmitters and masts for telecommunications and radar etc.

GKN, Massive company. It was, not sure if it still is, in the top 100 biggest company's in the world. Most moving vehicles in the word has paid GKN in some way. They have the patent for the constant velocity joint.
ELF is safe. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) finds "inadequate evidence" for human carcinogenicity. Maybe a static shock from induced current nothing to be worried about. You get bigger shocks getting out of your car on a hot dry day ;)

The worst will be ionizing radiation like ultra violet / X or Gamma rays but the extremely low frequency emitted by powerlines (ELF) sould not be of majour concern, although i wouldn't spend 24 hours a day standing directly under them.
The only info you could give them to satifsy them is to tell them you have all their preconcieved fears applied, then they would be confused as to what to do...Imagine phoneing the police to ask for assistaince with a self proclaimed terrorist, at a guess plod would hand out a crime number....lol...
