- “Gosh, it was such an awful day. That’s what I was thinking, like, and now Vylet is telling me to do this meditative stuff. I was like ‘whatever’, but I trusted her judgement so I sat down like she said. Just had to ,,, agh what did she call it.. stream of consciousness, I had to just write my stream of consciousness. I set up the typewriter at my work table. Dim lighting, couple of candles. And I started writing and writing and writing and writing. After a while, those little things started appearing. This spectral magic, these little fish. Like I told you, I thought every other unicorn had something like that, but I guess not? They’re always so fascinating and bright and they keep me company,,.. fsdjhskjbn yeah but and then I realized I was writing for a while. gosh, Gosh!!!!!!! oh Gosh and I had written so much. All these thoughts in my head I didn’t know I had.
And you know what. It was kind of scary. I was looking at all these inner thoughts , I just wrote them without barely thinking about them or anything and there they were. I was like ‘Gosh’. It was scary. I think I’d been really down. Things had been hard.”

Vylet’s onto something here. She manages to scratch many of the itches that only Porter Robinson seems to scratch for me. Those EDM-infused inspirational ballads that cradle your soul and lift it above your head. I really need more music like this.
vylet is the only one who starts a music with arcane sounds and ends with something really beautiful.

i now have a THEME song for my stream of consciousness writing
i think thats why i love the lyrical composition of these songs so much. They touch on such specific and personal parts of the psyche, stuff like nostalgia for extremely specific times, staying up too late, jotting down thoughts... stuff most musicians would never dream of tapping into. But you just put it out so simply, and romanticize it, and its just amazing every time.
I struggle with art block pretty badly and this is one of the most inspiring songs I've ever heard. I had been neglecting my journal for a while and the other night I wrote more than I had in weeks after having this song stuck in my head all week. Thank you, Canni, I hope I can make a song as good as this one day :)
