I feel like so much of the toxicity in League comes from miscommunication and not having voice chat, mostly players attempting something that requires the help of a teammate but just not being on the same page and then getting upset and blaming each other when it doesn't work out and then it just becomes a competition of who can be more annoying. If I could just discuss our options with my teammates I feel like it would prevent so much conflict. being able to say things like "I can't gank bot right now without ruining my tempo, give me 30 seconds and I'll be there", "If I see a good engage opportunity here I'm taking it, be ready to follow", or "we're really over extending here, lets back up" would help a lot. Also a lot of people just immediately write their teammates off as useless bots that can't do anything, hearing someone's voice and ideas is a good reminder that they are human and can be worked with.

@@NushiSama Of course people would flame each other in voice aswell but I think it wont be nearly as much as in textchat (and through ingame actions like pings and trolling). Especially because then you just mute them and only communicate with the rest and many ppl dont have the balls to speak and you can back up each other, if someone is talking trash.
However, I dont want it aswell for soloqueue, because I think this will change how soloqueue is played completely. (I mean you could implement it in flexqueue or another mode.)
Teams that dont use voicechat because the people simply dont want to have a disadvantage and the whole community and ranks would change, how the game is played and what you need to do and know. All people will play much better with time, because they all get better understanding for other roles and insights. And you have to consider that the enemies also have voice, which means that its harder for you to make special plays and punish certain mistakes. Maybe it would be good for less flaming or also in generell for the game but right now I dont see it, especially because 90% of the community is low elo from where you can normally easy escape. If they have not reached Dia yet, it wont change it when theyve got voicechat, because they simply dont understand the fundamentals of the game and the higherelo-people would have voicechat too (and would be better then with that logic).

It won't improve the game in any meaningful way.
I say this with 100% confidence that I will not be taken seriously; if NA had voice chat in game with all players at all times available, the playerbase would become exponentially better, and smaller. The player base thrives with ignorance as a weapon. That is the whole point of league. It is like an exploration of the mind. To communicate properly, the player base must take the game and communication seriously. This amounts to many people quitting due to insecurity, and as such those who remain are not players they would lose either way. It's a net loss because of the psychology of league's playerbase (at least in the server I experience, NA)
Another possibility is that people play LoL because of their competitive drive to get better. Those playing for fun and with ignorance probably belongs in normals, or silver and below. Adding voice chat adds a new dimension of skill in terms of actual shotcalling, communication and teamplay. It'll lessen the lol is toxic stereotype and entice more people to join with their friend. I'm sure plats and above (top 20%) or something play to improve, and not just for fun. Most playing to improve would probably love voice chat. If people likes to play for fun in silver and below, then could just set voice chat in Plat and above. Voice chat could even be seen as a prestige thing that comes with ranking up, just like borders.

Bad idea i play with friends and sometimes we have to invite randoms 50% of the time the people we invite to discord last about 3 mins they come in yelling and screaming making annoying noises and will purposely throw games if shit don't go 100% the player base is like little children

If they do add vc it would need to be heavily monitored and or locked until certain requirements are met, if you've played literally any other major comp pc title you know vc in lower ranks is used for trash talking/trolling majority of the time.

I play maybe once a month now. If they brought in vc I would either auto mute or not pick it back up
@@daxxx9366 well what's the issue? Literally just mute, it's the exact same as now where you can mute chat if you balls haven't dropped yet.
Doubt that voicechat will change much. The Aatrox has made it to GM without understanding map macro at the level you have. He knows he can outplay people in teamfights, but doesn't understand how that converts into objectives. And while playing with one of the best junglers on the planet, he doesn't think about how to learn more about the game. I think voicechat would lead to arguments, not a deeper understanding of the game.

If you have played valorant you have probably played cs. The game just needs the auto mute system.

It's legit mind blowing that the game has no VC. As a cs player I couldn't imagine playing a single game in high elo without comms. The argument of community is too toxic is a not very valid point, because nothing stops the league community from telling random teammates daily to buy a rope or to get cancer currently. They can just implement systems like in CS where someone who has been detected as toxic gets auto muted when the game starts, and it is then up to his teammates to unmute him. Now without going on a rant too big the biggest issue that I have with the current system is that WAYYY too many people are chat banned, because its the only source of communication. The result of this is a wayyyy to large sum of the player base using sign language to communicate which in the end sometimes genuinely acts as a disadvantage for people on the same team.

Ah yes, so you can hear people rage instead of read it. And so you have the joy of hearing their open mics and mouth breathing. Not mention the much more difficult task riot would have of enforcing harassment policies via audio instead of text. I'm all for having the option of voice but no way most will use it
Have not watched the full video yet but WE NEED VOICE COMMS. I find it so hard to want to continue playing when i get ignored every ping or whatever i type. I cant communicate what we need to do next and why. I'm the type of person that will ping my abilities when trying to make a play if they're on cd. In return i get told i get muted by my teammates because I'm pinging to much. But me pinging my jungler to gank the lane when enemy is under my tower at lvl 2 and instead they go to invade enemy jungler get collapsed on by my laner and die when i cant follow then they flame me and they do this every time. I ping my botlane to start fighting so when i get into lane theyre not just running away if bushes are warded instead they wait, don't fight and let the enemy escape. Making me waste my time on something that could be successful. I ping objectives 40+ seconds in advanced to get resets and the area prepped I'm ignored. I ping/type for my support to ward or sweeper get ignored. I ping/type to collapse ignored. It feels so ridiculous to be told that we dont need voice comms but its an essential staple in pro play. Why do they use it if it isn't necessary like phreak says!?

There is no voice chat. It is only if you are already premade.
Voice chat would be nice, but more important would be actual VOICE PINGS AND ALLERTS - This would make a huge difference.
Example:
VOICE Ping Alert - Enemy Support Missing!
VOICE Ping Alert - Enemy is Jungler Invading!
you get the idea.....This would also be supported with a Text Message in chat, which people could spam 3/5 times should the Team have muted Sounds.
The lack of some sort of Voice Comms in-game all of this years is the reason as to why the Community is so Toxic....it is simply Lack of Communication.
Improving the ping system would be a great change for sure.

Naaah, I don't think people are so quick to call people pedos these days, the average age of gamers is so old now, even most league players are old farts. I genuinely don't think vc would be very toxic, not more toxic than the game already is regardless. And if someone is toxic it's just like with text chat... just mute em

The toxic community is the EXACT reason we shouldn't implement voice chat & if implemented It needs to be able to be turned off/allow the muting of specific players. It would make league even more toxic
I have played cs and league since I was young. I have met multiple friends on cs some of which I have met irl, had endless amounts of laughter listening to random people on voice in pugs. Yes I have had a lot of bad experiences and muted half a million of players throughout the games, but the first thing I mentioned I can't say about league, but I can say that I have muted half a million players in league as well.
Removing features doesn't exactly get rid of toxicity. Even with limited pings/typing people are still super toxic, so clearly the problem isn't VC, so why deprive people from a feature that others would enjoy?

Imagine voice chat in the game at its current state. The bronze adc starts flamming the supports mom just cause he trys to prepare the last hits 4 him under the turret. Ur 0 10 toplane blames u for not ganking him. ur midlaner suggest u kill ur self cause u as jungler pingt for help for years but he refused to move and u got collapsed the 3rd time by enemy mid and jungler in ur own jungle. yeah voicechat would really help a lot. best thing, no one can controll it like the textchat, so u can be as toxic as u want.
Nice story rate 10/10, imagine if theres was a mute button. Now btw one thing that you are getting wrong is that people will be as toxic on voice as they are in written form. WROOOOOOONGGGG. If you have ever lived a day as a human then you would know that people are usually way more open in the way they talk to strangers on text compared to in person.

I'm sorry Mr. Brohacks, but I entirely disagree about implementing voice chat on this game. The community is already toxic enough and I fear it will get even more downhill with voice chat. I do think the ping system could be reworked to trigger sound notifications tho. "Enemy Jungler is top side" "Enemy Support is MIA/Roaming" would be a nice addition to the actual ping system. Rito can even milk money out of this by releasing RP purchasables different narrators for your sound notifications, for example Twisted Fate or Draven. That should give some job to the voice actors as well so I think its a legit idea.
So improve a bad communication system instead of implementing a better one, because you THINK it will be more toxic. Ya thats a sick argument.
@@polylolhihi4143 Improving the current communication system to make it more viable is a far better option than throwing it down the drain and implementing a new one that is a FACT that will bring a lot of issues. This community is not ready for it, people take this game way too seriously and the toxicity is proportional to it. Also LoL's playerbase is filled with sexism and racism. Imagine been verbally harrassed by 4 random guys on an online game just because you're a girl. Your proposal has a lot more of cons than pros, sorry for breaking it to you. @@Saryan1 So in my experience from having played games with VC at a high level it genuinely leads to less a toxic environment, because people are aware that they are talking online to real humans. Insulting someone in written form is 20 times easier than it is to say it directly to someone, and there are not that many people that are sad enough irl to do it to the extreme extend that people do on text. So the whole argument of VC bringing greater amounts of toxicity is just fallacy, and you should not be arguing against this if you want to seem at least a bit intelligent. So lastly if you are a girl and you don't want to deal with people being ''cringe'' you can simply just not use the voice chat. BUT from my experience (again I have experience it seems you dont) girls are very welcome nowadays and with over 3k games on FACEIT i have met HUNDREDS of girls and I dont think I can even remember such a thing happening. The idea of having voice comms in an online team game is not a new concept and the league community is no different than any other. The idea that one game has a far more toxic community than others is again A FALLACY. Every online team game has extreme toxicity, ESPECIALLY IN WRITTEN FORM.

Its just not the case, idk why so many people are against VC, when you can just NOT USE IT even though its available. Not like that fucking changes a thing, league players dont really use the chat to communicate anyways, they use pings. If they use chat 85% of the time its to be toxic. No one is going to buy the ''more toxic with VC argument''. And as long as it stands that no riot employee comes to your house and makes sure you are using the VC if its available then i don't see anything wrong in improving the game for those that see it fit this way.
If league had vc I would never play again.
You don't have to use the function, but let those use it who want to.
