@@richone10 WOW! Thank you for the info. As a bass player (electric) I was wondering how they achieved so much 'pop' in that line. I was thinking one of the old Fender Precision basses with the foam insert under the pickguard cover...but your info explains it better.
Mr Brevett was an Original member of the pioneering Skattalites also. He only ever played upright because he never warmed to the switching over to e-bass.@@bassiehd
@@richone10 I knew he was the original Skatalites bass player, but never knew he played on this great Alton track (and of course, later, Sugar Minott's "Vanity," on the same riddim).
@@bassiehd So eventually most if not all the Sk'lites band worked as Studio 1(equivalent Of Motown in Jamaica) session players helping to xnsform Ska music to Reggae.
Alton Ellis aka Mr Rocksteady & Coxsone Dodd deadly combination & everliving Legends!!! ❤️ 💛 💚 One Love Always! 🦁🏆
🙌🏿❤️🔥
I feel like a child again listening too an Angel.
RIP Legend.
Jamaica's national anthem. Huge classic from the Father.
The b side is just amazing
The percussiveness of the bass is just amazing. Never heard any bassist do this song live who came close.
LLOYD BREVETT HIMSELF on upright bass.
