That opening number was mental. There's something so beautiful about comedy pre 2000, with the exception of a few gems post 2000, I reckon UK comedy was natural and pure and genuinely funny in the 20th C. Some of the original & radical humour was definitely 60s-70s. The Brits own humour.
*owned. We don't own it any more, we make watered down drivel to appeal to the lowest common denominator. You're 100% right about pre-2000 and to be honest right the way through to 2010 we were still making quality stuff. But in 2022 all the best comedy now comes from the USA, as much as it pains me to admit. We have nothing to offer anymore.
Thank you so very much for uploading this……trying not to wake my husband up but I’m making the bed shake with my giggling! I miss these shows…..was 21 in 1999 and tv today isn’t half as funny as it was in the 90s.
"We have this hope that, if there's anyone left bothered about us in fifty years' time, _[Bang Bang]_ will be the one they'll remember" Bob Mortimer, talking to Ben Thompson for the 2004 book _Sunshine on Putty: The Golden Age of British Comedy from Vic Reeves to The Office_
I was about 14 when this was on. I remember losing bladder control every time there was a bit with Kinky John, especially his breakdowin in the last episode.
Thanks for uploading! This series definitely had some great writing and gags, but I found it disappointing after the iconic Smell of Reeves and Mortimer, which had such stylish, beautiful production. Bang Bang, in contrast, just looked ugly, and the styling made Vic and Bob look so bland and plain. It's like they lost their comic identity. Also, Peter Baikie's music was good, but it just does not compare to the incredible talent of Peter Brewis who did the music for Smell!

"Farmyard Shite" It's been the ringtone on my phone for years lol
Thanks so much for uploading. No one makes me laugh like vic and bob.
Vic getting bummed off the monkey is probably the funniest thing I have ever seen.
The first time I saw it, I struggled to breathe
That's already made my heart bleed.
It was a lot of fun
Just like Beeks in _Trading Places._

You've seen her working at Star Burger, now be prepared to see her burger star!
that line has been etched into my brain for 20+ years
😂😂😂
Me too and I just walked past Starburger in Maidstone! Had to take a photo. Didn't see Wendy tho!
Thankyou Neill Wilkinson...
Mate.... thanks for these videos... instant mood lifters
Not moon lifters
Moon sifters?
The laughing as the intro song transitions into the show at 3:55 is something I can listen to for hours.
I never missed this, highlight of the week ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
You are a hero for posting these. Wonderful!
Here because I'm reading Bob's autobiography and I remember this from way back.
Same. You got to the Boost advert filming yet? "Vic told it to fuck off, but it didn't" 😅🤣😂

The fun fun fun sketch was recorded in Dymchurch, kent
....they also filmed down a manhole cover in folkestone when it wasn't a hole...
So they brought their own hole?
Absolutely brilliant 👏👏👏 Thanks for sharing! 👍
Thanks so much for uploading these in 50fps, feels like an real time capsule, haha
Cheers for posting these Neil.
Paul Barron 😂 “a blackcurrent being enjoyed by an exotic lady” - Kinky John 😂
Applause! Thank you.
I think The Club might be the funniest thing they've ever written, it's brilliant.
If you haven't seen Catterick, get it watched! The highlight of their career
@@anthonydownie4055 Finally got around to watching it last year, annoyed with myself that it took me so long!
The Club is without doubt the best parody ever
I was about 14 when this was on. I remember losing bladder control every time there was a bit with Kinky John, especially his breakdowin in the last episode.
Still Hilarious. Thanks for posting.
This is some of their finest work. An illogical progression from the smell.
"Many people ask, is Mikka Hakkinnen from Hong Kong?
No! He is from Finland!"
Charlie behind the bar and that looks like David Walliams and Morwenna and Matt too. It's a supergroup of comedy.
All except for David Williams are In Catterick
@@oscargrainger2962 😁
Is it giro dayyyy?
anybody know whats the "mood music"?
The club was pure class
Loved the Carl and Chris palmer spin off Catterick.
I miss comedy like this
the gun skit was clearly an influence on Snatch. and Biscuits
Excellent. I don’t suppose you have The Smell Of… too?
I do but whether that is allowed on RUclips is another matter. I’ll give it a try.
@@NeillWilkinson Excellent! It's near impossible to find elsewhere
@@bambam5000 I’d suggest looking on DailyMotion too because there seems to be all sorts on there.
@@NeillWilkinson Lots of Bang Bang, but seemingly only two Smell clips on there. A bunch have been removed
Catterick Origin story haha
they as smart lads who make daft comedy that makes you laugh from start to end
Which episode had 'Police Camera Accident' in it?
This was a few years after Bob gave Damon a scotch egg. He was more into soil science than Formula 1.
This is one of their career highlights and as always with their policy of interfering, BBC puts a fucking laugh track all over it.
❤🎷🦆
I do not spook easily, and those who think I do are wasting their time with their surprise attacks.
It’s phoenix nights before phoenix knights
Please elaborate?
He means it is Phoenix Nights before Phoenix Nights. Hope that has cleared it all up now.

😁✨👍🇬🇧❤
The continuity at the start makes me sad.
