  • Join me as I explore the vibrant streets of Stockholm’s Old Town, immersing myself in and enjoying the city’s rich history:
Drottninggatan (Queen Street): One of Stockholm's busiest shopping streets, Drottninggatan has been a key thoroughfare since the 17th century.
Hemlös räv av Laura Ford (Homeless Fox by Laura Ford): This poignant statue reflects on urban homelessness and the plight of marginalized individuals in society.
Riksbron (The State Bridge): Connecting the mainland with Helgeandsholmen, Riksbron offers stunning views of Stockholm’s iconic Parliament House.
Riksdagshuset (The Parliament House): A magnificent building where Sweden's legislature has convened since 1905, showcasing beautiful Neoclassical architecture.
Riksgatan (Parliament Street): Running between the Parliament House buildings, this street symbolizes Sweden's democratic governance.
Stallbron (The Stable Bridge): Historically used to transport horses to royal stables, this bridge is a link between the city's past and present.
Västerlånggatan (The Western Long Street): A medieval street that once served as Stockholm's main artery, now lined with shops and cafes.
Kåkbrinken (Shack Slope Street): Named after the wooden shacks that once lined this slope, it's a reminder of Stockholm’s humble beginnings.
Upplands runinskrifter (The Runic Inscriptions of Uppland): Ancient runestones that tell tales of Viking history and the region's storied past.
Stortorget (The Main Square): The heart of Gamla Stan, Stortorget witnessed the Stockholm Bloodbath in 1520 and remains a hub of historical significance.
Stortorgsbrunnen (The Great Square Fountain): Originally the city's zero point, this fountain has served as a gathering place for centuries.
Svartmangatan (Black Man Street): Named after the Blackfriars monks, this street is one of Gamla Stan’s oldest and most mysterious.
Kindstugatan (Cheek Horse Street): Its name comes from the old Swedish word "kindhäst," referring to a slap on the cheek-a curious reminder of past customs.
Brända Tomten (The Burnt Courtyard): A small square with a dark history, named after a fire that once devastated this part of the city.
Själagårdsgatan (Soul Yard Street): Once home to a hospital for the soul-sick, this street carries echoes of medieval Stockholm.
Tyska Brunnsplan (German Well Square): A nod to Stockholm's German community, this square is centered around an old well.
Gertrud, Tyska kyrkan (Saint Gertrude, German Church): A beautiful Gothic church, serving as a spiritual home for Stockholm’s German population since the 16th century.
Prästgatan (Priest Street): Historically home to clergymen, this street has retained its ecclesiastical charm.
Mårten Trotzig's Alley: The narrowest alley in Stockholm, named after a wealthy merchant from the 16th century. The width of the alley narrows down to just 90 centimeters (35 inches), making it the narrowest street in Stockholm.
Järntorget (Iron Square): Once a bustling hub for iron trade, Järntorget is steeped in the commercial history of the city.
Järntorgsbrunnen (Iron Square Fountain): A modest but historically significant fountain, once the focal point of Järntorget.
Evert Taubestatyn (Evert Taube Statue): A tribute to one of Sweden's most beloved troubadours, standing proudly in Gamla Stan.
Triewaldsgränd (Triewald's Alley): Named after a prominent family, this alley is a hidden gem of Old Town.
Munkbroleden (Monk Bridge Road): A vital road running alongside Gamla Stan, it offers beautiful views of the water and the city.
Kornhamnstorg (Corn Harbor Square): Historically a market square for grain, it’s now a lively spot with cafes and shops.
Strömmingsvagnen (The Herring Wagon): A popular food cart where you can taste the quintessential Swedish dish, fried herring.
Stora Nygatan (Great New Street): One of the first planned streets of Stockholm, dating back to the 1600s.
Riddarhustorget (Square of the House of Knights): A square named after the majestic Riddarhuset, where Sweden's nobility once gathered.
Riddarholmsbron (The Knights Islet Bridge): Connecting Riddarholmen with Gamla Stan, this bridge offers views of historic waterfront buildings.
Riddarholmskyrkan (Riddarholmen Church): A royal burial church dating back to the 13th century, it is one of Stockholm’s oldest buildings.
Riddarholmen (The Knights' Islet): A serene islet home to several important government buildings and the iconic Riddarholmen Church.
Hebbes bro (Hebbe's Bridge): Named after a wealthy merchant, this bridge is a lesser-known but charming part of Stockholm’s history.
Munkbrohamnen (Monk Bridge Harbor): A picturesque harbor offering views of the surrounding islands and a starting point for many boat tours.

Very nice video and a lovely atmosphere! Don’t they have shelters for homeless fox in Stockholm? 😅

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the video! It seems that ‘Homeless fox’ doesn’t need shelter-its purpose is to be noticed and discussed! 😅
