  • Intense rainfall hitting southern Quebec over the next 24 hours has already led to damaged cars and event cancellations throughout the province. Environment Canada (ECC) has issued a rainfall warning for all of southern Quebec as it receives remnants of tropical storm Debby.
In New York, the risk of severe flooding from the remnants of Hurricane Debby led Gov. Kathy Hochul to declare a statewide state of emergency on Friday. Heavy rain, high wind and flooding are expected across the Tri-State Area on Friday.
In Pennsylvania. Fast-rising floodwaters from Debby’s extreme rainfall has overwhelmed communities and fueled a dangerous situation in the Northeast, damaging homes, inundating roads and forcing rescues. the most severe flood alert - were issued early Friday afternoon for portions of southern New York and northern Pennsylvania, warning of life-threatening and catastrophic flooding.

Once a car is flooded it’s done - totaled. No amount of work or replacement parts can ever make it right again. For the next few months if you see a good deal on used cars in these areas be very careful. If the deal sounds too good to be true it’s a flooded write-off.

Spent 4 hours last night and 9 hours today helping my friend clean out his flooded basement. Plus know 4 other Montreal families who got their homes flooded. Rain was off and on but then got ridiculous for like 3 hours straight. Reminded me of Florida but the Northeast is NOT designed for tropical storms. No coral base here peeps! In Florida this would have all dried in a couple hours. Tired, goodnight!🥴

The radar made me believe montreal had catastrophic flash flooding, but I see it was just ponding issues..and where do they put flood waters "back into" the sewer system. lol. why not into the storm drains, or river? underpass flooding occurs when montreal or any city gets a good thunderstorm.
