EIPH (exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage) is common in thoroughbreds. The loop diuretic furosemide (trade name Lasix) is used to prevent it. In the USA lasix is legally used on their horses. I don’t think it is used in the UK. This Il est Francais est un “bleeder”. The good news for the horse is he didn’t die (unlike the 3 Cheltenham horses). I suspect Abuffallosodier also had EIPH leading to a cardiac arrest. Perhaps it’s time to have a debate about lasix?
I would guess that the horse's chemist didn't get the alchemy prescription correct or it was omitted on this occasion. We saw this type of performance happen before with two recent derby winners who disappointed in the guinneas but went on to romp home in derby when required. If the horse was sick he'd be out by now the fact he's still in the race would lead one to the chemist theory and that 14/1 is great value for the King George
Does seem daft to race him with 5 weeks to king george to me it's one of 2 things , horse takes a lot of training & needs prep race or they want the price to go out on king george day
Never thought much of this horse, but in his defence he had a pulmonary haemorrhage (bleeding on the lungs). This takes around 4-5 weeks to recover from. He won't be making the King George. I suspect his career will be cut short as he has had this problem before.
@frankelforever14 He's putting kisses on his aliases replies now.Abdul sent kisses to Musicmike just to confirm implicitly that he was indeed Martin Lewis 😂
Why do we have French horseracing commentaries like cartoon racing similar ? Is it because the commentator dude is in a booth in england , kidding on he's in France at the racecourse ? If he did the same at Ascot or Epsom ,he would be sacked forthwith......
The French racing commentators actually do work in France in a studio and provide the commentaries in English for worldwide viewing, sometimes they can be calling three to four meetings at a time doing a mix of flat, jump racing and trotting all on the same day, often can be anywhere between 25 to 40 races
Something felt wrong before the water jump, that's why he was switched to the opposite side of the fence . It might just be something small but the jockey wasn't confident going into it and was making sure that there wasn't a pile up if he fell.
Pulmonary Haemorrhage = bleeding in the lungs. Think this must be what happened to the horse at the end of last season as well. Seems very poor training that they are trying to make what looks like a 2 1/2 mile horse with electric jumping into a restrained stayer and doing it whilst running in a bog. Be very surprised if this horse ever reaches it's true potential and I think you can scratch it for the King George.
😂😂😂😂😂 what a yak he really is. Been saying it for 11 months now. Utter yak. French form is the pits - just like I always tell you. I will take apology’s from those who called me.. Name and shame list drawn up now… #knowledgeispower #provenyetagain
Marty lad, even you must recognise the numerous differences between this track and kempton. Wise Willie wanted nothing to do with taking this horse on last year.
Consistent bumper horse though failed to win, markedly improved when put hurdling and actually unbeaten in that sphere. Despite a positive start to chasing, he became inconsistent, running well and then not performing. Looks like he jumps lowish and flat, presumably bled and that might explain the bad performances, as it’s probably not the first time he has done that. I have been saying that the KG is substandard and has been for several seasons. It certainly would seem that is correct as he is still only 10/1 for the event. Can’t really see him actually lining up, 4 weeks after this would appear too close given the bleed. Nice performance by the winner, robust sort and kept on galloping, but if IEF is actually a solid grade one chaser, then NH racing is in worse shape than i thought

What price now for the King George.😂😂😂😂😂
Big double fence, he lost his purchase on the ground with his hind legs. The ground was strangely giving way under the horses
Seemed odd to run the horse over 3m 3f only 5 weeks before a King George🤔 then again I'm not a trainer
Difference between good trainers and bad trainer that’s why Tom George and his son left Britain as they were terrible
Fair shout
@@StephenBailey-s5m Badly trained no doubt about it.

i'd give him a break, tough race heavy track waterbanks etc. If going KG would rest him. Wouldn't be so prominent with him either.
that grey is a nice sort so was the winner

Any chance Gran Diose can make the trip over ? Looks a very impressive chaser.
Out to 10/1 now for the King George.
Off = racing tautology commentators please note.
It’s a total hype job - wish it won today before GW stuffed it
No you don't Martin. Stop wearing women's clothes and making illogical comments. The horse had a pulmonary haemorrhage.
@ it’s over-hyped faulty goods. & just for the record I’m not Martin. X
Wrong on both counts Martin Lewis. You give it away Martin by liking your own comment as soon as you post it 😂

What happened, one second he was leading then the video cuts to him in third place 🤨

Done on purpose so the connections get better odds on Boxing Day

Needs moving to a proper trainer, otherwise his potential will be lost for ever
