@@PhilipAnders thank you! It was my first attempt, and I’m in the US (West Virginia specifically). I started by asking chatGPT to write a submission letter including that I’m a designer, already sell online, and can bring traffic to Amazon via social media such as YT. Of course, Amazon limits the information section to 512 characters, and chatGPT wrote something more suited to applying for grad school, but luckily I was an editor in a past life, lol. So I trimmed it waaaay down and included a link to a portfolio of 9-10 designs that I put together on Canva using actual designs that I thought were maybe not great but at least different or interesting. I have no clue what of all that actually made the difference.
@@PhilipAnders oh, telling chatGPT to stick to 512 characters would’ve definitely been the way to go … if only I’d thought of it before I trimmed down its first run 🙄🤣 Canva (free) actually lets you publish a simple portfolio or marketing webpage - that it offers all the elements to create - on its own platform, so that’s what I did.
@@PhilipAnders ok, my guess is you're getting pretty sick of my comments (and I have a YT channel - I get it!), BUT I've been doing nothing since my acceptance email yesterday but re-watching Merch by Amazon videos just to make sure I'm prepared to start. So I just this second logged into my MOD acct for the very first time. THEY PUT ME AT TIER 1000 . How is that even a thing?! I know NOTHING about POD. I upload a design here and there to RedBubble or TeePublic when I have an idea. But what do I do with Tier 1000 as a complete noob?! Now I'm really terrified. LOL! Truly - what is going on... 🤯🤯
Great content as always Philip. Could you Please make a brief video on father s day mothers day design ideas and how to come up with new ideas on your point of view. Thanks in advance
Many Thanks Phillip! I do like your Straight, - No - Nonsence, Down to Earth, Relaxed, Presentations! Please, as you suggested, could you do a Video, on Best Fonts, for Specific Markets ( Male & Female) Cheers, Brad H
Hey Philip, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative, very useful and well-made. I loved your videos. I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and also make highly engaging shorts for you?
Nanaimo Bars come from Nanaimo B.C. It's been a recipe for tasty treats that some say originated from this Vancouver Island town. It might be the only thing that Nanaimo is famous for... Well, that and bigfoot :)
In case Grill Master is tempting to anyone, it’s TM’d for t-shirts. I figured it was too good to be true that it might be available … Great video - thanks!
@@PhilipAnders sure! I happened to be looking anyway a few days ago but completely missed it the first time (there are a LOT of active Grill Master tms); decided to read through them all again yesterday before uploading a design, and there it was 😕
Great ideas! As always, you've generated more ideas than I'll know what to do with before the trends are over! Then again, I guess I am a "teacher off duty."
BTW: The "We are on a break" idea is clever, but it is dangerously close to infringing on the TV show Friends. In the show, part of the storyline of a couple of the characters was that they broke up, and the phrase "we are on a break" is related to that. That's why some of the designs use the Friends font. Obviously some designers are getting away with it, but it's risky. ruclips.net/video/xFjqlgupAe0/видео.html

Holy cow, I just got the acceptance email from Merch by Amazon, and they started me at TIER 1000 🤯 Honestly, I was *not* expecting any of that.
Amazing congratulations!🥳 I'm really curious, how many applications did you send, where are you from and what did you put into the actual form?

interesting thanks for sharing! I suppose you could tell chatgpt to limit itself to 512 characters, maybe that works. What site was the portfolio on?

Here's another idea for you: target teachers off duty working on POD instead of sitting at the beach😂
@@PhilipAnders Yes! Sold!
